“I took my son here for a bday breakfast celebration and the owner was so friendly he even had the kitchen make a pancake stake for a cake with candle and everything. It made him feel special and it was a nice experience. The food was fresh and served quickly. A group of 4 of us were traveling through the area and needed a good place for Dinner …We called and made a reservation , the owner Al was very personable on the phone .We arrived for dinner and he had our name on table , and he introduced himself …We had a couple of beers while he explained the menu to us ….we Decided on a couple of appetizers and also a small pizza to sample before ordering our dinner . The appetizers arrived and were very good, but the star of the show was definitely the pizza , so much flavor … the crust was to die for light and airy and so much crunch in the crust !!!! Next was the Dinner - Chicken Francaise , Chicken Parm , Chicken Marsala , Fettuccini Carbonaro .All meals arrived hot and were Delicious …We also got to meets Al’s Daughter who was very personable just like her Father ….We wished we had this Restaurant in our community . “We just had a brunch for 70+ people after a funeral here last weekend. The owner was wonderful. I did not have to worry about a thing. The food was terrific, the staff wonderful, the venue perfect...they could even have accomodated more folks if needed. I didn't have to worry about thing. I highly recommend Cotton Hollow Kitchen. “Family style bar and restaurant. I've had a thick juicy cheeseburger and the fish and chips. Both dishes were nice large portions of flavorful and fresh tasting and well seasoned food. The place is friendly and well appointed. Prices are reasonable and service is great. The patrons are having fun socializing with each other. There are even families, but no young children. They are a mix of young and old. People are dressed in casual work clothes.“

“Had to stop here on my self proclaimed "burger tour" when I drove across the country at the recommendation of George Motz. Fantastic burger cooked in a unique way which yields a very moist and juicy burger. There is so much ooiegooie cheese and the bun is soft but not soggy. I'm from California and we don't do burgers this way, but I have to tip my cap to Ted. Fantastic place. I'm sure locals know it but if you're passing by, do yourself a favor and try this local gem.“

“Great place. I’ll have to make it a point to work it into the calendar more. Beer was excellent. 24 different beers on tap I believe. Burger was great - big and delicious and my wife enjoyed her wrap. Bonus points for the King Diamond and Rob Halford photos on the wall. I didn’t get to check out all the prints. Cool spot. “We are a group of eight Women golfers that travel each week to play a different course in CT. Get the usual eye rolling looks from the men from parking lot, pro shop to the course and finally the bar. Some men are polite but they are few. Quarry Ridge staff went over the top to make our Tuesday golf experience relaxing and fun. Course was in good shape. Kevin in the pro shop attentive asking questions after our round to see if we had a good time and what were our thoughts about women’s golf. Poor Kevin got a earful I’m afraid. He was such a good sport! The chef came out and checked on our lunch. Talked about his menu. Very enthusiastic. It was a perfect day Tuesday Blue sky, cool temps, Great Golf and being with friends. “I I have been going to Chris's for 5 years and it's a low lit "old school" pub to hang out with friends for a game of Pool, Darts or just throw back a pint cranking out your favorite music on the TouchTunes jukebox. There are plenty of flatscreen TV's to catch the big games and the "Pittsburgh Steelers" is the Pubs fan favorite as there's is lots of memorabilia throughout the pub. Friday through Sunday evenings are usually busy during football season and there's plenty of space to stretch out. They have a regular pub style lunch that doesn't break the bank with an outstanding and friendly chef that visits the bar for that bit of personal touch unlike other places in the area.“

I can honestly say if I ever move out of Connecticut, AJ's is one of the very few restaurants that I would ever truly miss and want to stop by if I come back to Connecticut for a visit.
