“Nice little Mexican restaurant. This was my first time there. Food was good. Service was good. My only complaint was my wine glass was sticky when he handed it to me. If you want a quick bite it will do. I had the steak and chicken fajitas they were good steak was a little tough. The chips and salsa were good.“

“I fell in love with Birria tacos recently during a visit to TX, so I was really looking forward to trying this food truck. It was a big disappointment. $32 for three small tacos and a quesadilla? They didn’t even include the consome which is a signature part of the Birria experience. You had to pay extra for it. We asked if they had any chicken or shrimp options, which are listed on their website…nope. Just beef, which was pretty bland. Sorry, wanted to like ya, but one and done.“

“We had a very good breakfast here on a Sunday morning recently. I got the burrito and my wife ordered a skillet, both were excellent. The plantains on my wife's dish were especially good. Unfortunately it was very slow in the restaurant, but our server was very attentive. Pretty good coffee here, too. My only complaint is that the music was very loud, which made the restaurant feel like a night club. It was a weird vibe at 8am.“

I'm giving this place a solid 8.7. Only issue is that they only accept cash and they close at 8, but they have very good customer service. Look at the plating presentation even tho it's a to go order they take their time out for each order.“

“Salsa's 3 catered our NYE party this year. Talon goes here for lunch all the time and we love Salsa's. We are overwhelmed with how great the catering is! We knew the food would be great because it always is. But they worked with us on portions when we got our headcount. This saved us money and allowed us to buy a greater number of items. Ignore the online catering menu and go in and talk to them since they will break anything down to a half tray and really help you have a great event. Super impressed, 100% recommend and we will of course go back time and time again!“

“Visit this place a few times a month, as it’s our favorite restaurant for date night. My wife has gluten and dairy allergies and I can eat pretty much anything, and we both have plenty of options. My absolute favorite is the mushroom taco as well as the glazed pork belly and Baja fish taco! Don’t sleep on the street corn either. Tastes just as good as getting them from a guy making them out of his cooler on the streets of El Paso (I passed through El Paso on our way to Disneyland and this guy had a crowd surrounding him). “We stumbled upon this place because our friends were already there and it was delightful.They said they waited a long time for their food and there was a line, which usually means it’s pretty good.This place didn’t disappoint. We had margs and tacos! The chili shrimp taco and the Al pastor tacos were fantastic and packed with meat. “Very cool spot in West Hartford with a fun concept. It's got a brewery type vibe with a nice patio area outdoors with various types of well thought out seating areas. A rotating selection of food trucks are parked adjacent to this area and serve food for lunch, dinner and into the evening. Inside is additional seating and a bar area. Occasionally bands will play on one end of the room. I love that they promote original music here. The food will largely depend on what food trucks are there. Seems like two different ones during the week and three on weekends. They seem to be well curated for quality and variety though. In addition to this they have a small burger and fries type menu inside. The tap list is very solid here featuring a nice variety with many local offerings. The regular staff here who run the bar and deal with general operations are great. Very helpful and friendly all around. Check their social media for food truck and band listings and go check this place out!“

“The experience at 1001 was incredible, we were there to celebrate my sister's birthday with about 10 people, each of us ordered different typical Mexican dishes, quesadillas, tacos, burritos, soda, water that comes with the house, it is a charming presentation. The prices are very affordable, most are under 20 dollars.The place is well located, it has free parking, a green area where you can eat outside with a view of the main avenue.The attention to service was most attentive.Parking: No warm or any inconvenience when parking. It has parking in the front area for two hours.Kid-friendliness: Children are allowed. It has all the accommodations for children/high chair.“

The waitress was checking in a lot but she was only stalling because the night was busy and she knew the food was taking long. “My current top hidden gem for amazing and authentic Mexican food. Hidden in La plaza del Mercado, this spot has the most amazing tripe soup, where the tripe was properly cleaned, no funky taste/smell, cooked perfectly tender. Great caldo de res as well, the meat was tender and had a strong beef flavor, soup was light and refreshing and the veggies provided a nice natural sweetness and the squash was incredible inside. Their tacos are great as well and their pricing is a bargain and their portions are quite good.“

“Nice little place right behind Whole Foods in West Hartford. There are plenty of parking spots and the ambiance inside gives a Mexican local place, the theme is day of the dead hence you will see all images and decor in that fashion. We went there early during the day so there was not many patrons dining. The service was quick and the cashier is very friendly. You have to just pay for your food at the counter and the goods gets brought to your table. The food tasted so good we have tried the carne asada burrito bowl with veggies instead of rice. I would recommend trying out the bowls. I had to give a 4 star because the table we weee sitting on was sticky and may not have been cleaned thoroughly. I recommend the restaurant owner to keep the tables clean. Will go back again to try out their tacos. Good find in West Hartford“

“The tacos are fire!!! Everything is fresh and flavorful. 100000% enjoyed the quality of the food and pleasant service. The people running this truck KNOW what they are doing. However, my only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I find them to be pricey. There are other options in the city that are just as great at a more reasonable price. I still highly recommend them for the quality food but the cost adds up super quick. Last time we had a craving and stopped here, they wanted to charge $35 for 10 tacos. Another taco spot I love charges $25 for the same 10 tacos. For the prices, I'd only go here if I'm buying for just me or in a pinch for something fresh and healthy.“

“I'm originally from California and have been STRUGGLING to find good, well seasoned Hispanic/Mexican food since I moved to New England. This place is by far the best I've found in Connecticut. I had the Birria Tacos, chips, salsa and guacamole and the whole experience tasted and felt like home. I am struggling no more. The tacos and broth were so well seasoned and so filling. The salsa was perfect and chips were golden brown. Every star was earned.I am super excited to go back and try more of their food. “Agave is one of my favorite bars in Hartford! There are so many things to love. First, I love their happy hour specials (both food and drinks). Second, I love their Sangriarita and any flavored margaritas! They will even let you mix flavors, I recommend mixing mango and guava! Third, I love their chicken chimichanga, it's my go to meal every time. Fourth is their endless chips and salsa. Fifth, it's a great restaurant or bar to go to before or after any event at the XL Center. Sixth, I enjoy their decor, it has a great welcoming atmosphere, including fun music. “This place is great! Unbeatable taco Tuesday deal! All the tacos were jammed packed except the shrimp tacos. The rice and refried beans didn't take “authentic “ but was still very good! The street corn was excellent with a nice Smokey taste... served on the cob. A FULL piece. The guacamole and chip portion was small for the pricing but with everything else ordered with such great value it still was still well worth it in my opinion. The restaurant itself is small. We went in, and went to the last counter down the line, as they had these amazing Columbian Tamales. I had never seen such big and round tamales. They are to die for. “We visited this weekend and we thought it was pretty great!! The menu is huge and it actually has a lot of American dishes available which surprised us. The outdoor patio is covered and a nice added bonus, the inside looks very colorful and spacious but we ate outside. Just like most Mexican restaurants they give you complementary chips and salsa- I’m picky about my salsa and theirs passed with flying colors. Very traditional, refreshing and delicious. We also ordered queso, it was a very thick heavy queso, similar to Frontera’s if you’ve ever had it. You get a decent portion, with only two of us eating we took about half home to enjoy later. My boyfriend had the fajitas which he said were great, and I ordered the shrimp tacos. My tacos were very good, but they had the same peppers and onions filling that came with the fajitas, so to me they felt more like shrimp fajitas, however still delicious, would order again. They didn’t have a drink menu printed yet but I’m always looking for great margaritas and this place does it right. Their house margarita is authentic, not sweet at all, with a good kick. I also tried a flavored one, it was a little sweet for me so I’d stick with the house next time or ask for a little less flavor. We are excited to get back and try some different things soon.“
