“Randomly stumbled upon Gaetanos in Westport yesterday when looking for a place to get sandwiches before my son’s baseball game. Having grown up in Belmont Little Italy for the first 22 years of my life I was skeptical about the “Arthur Ave style..” claim on the sign. Well I can tell you they delivered and then some! Was warmly greeted, handled samples of delicious cheeses and more. They were too skeptical when I said I grew up on Arthur Ave but once we started chatting they knew I wasn’t BSing. Saw familiar faces and reminisced about life on Arthur Ave. The owners are warm and kind - the real deal keeping it true to the Arthur Ave spirit. Dare I say they might even do it better!! I can’t say enough about the excellent food and service. If I ever find myself in Westport again I will certainly make a visit! Aside from my son’s team’s win, this nostalgic experience truly made my day and made me feel like I was back home in the Bronx when life was more simple. And yes, everything we ordered and sampled was delicious! No skin on the eggplant and bread from Addeo - doesn’t get any better!“

“I ran across this gem by accident, and I'm so happy that I did.
The family that runs the store are very nice people.
The food is fresh all the time and home cooked on site.
What caught my eye was the sign for Chicken Souvlaki.
Delicious!
I went back and got the chicken and rice with fresh vegetables.
It's so tasteful. Different, very good!
The atmosphere is quaint and quiet,clean.
Their menu is extensive and not overpriced.
Convenient location right near the on-ramp and off-ramp to route 8.

“Tried Gaetano’s in Stratford for the first time- hands down the best authentic Italian deli in Connecticut. Everything was delicious, from grinders, cheeses, meatballs, chicken dishes… freshly made. Once you start drinking them, you are not going to drink fake Gatorade drinks that are not only filled with harmful colorants but also contain sugar.“

“A really good deli spot in Bridgeport. They have awesome sandwiches and soup options. They also have a breakfast menu as well. The lunch spot is no frills, a bunch of trackers to eat your lunch but the staff is really friendly and it’s the type of place when you come in, they remember your name.“

His sandwiches are filled with hate and resentment. I’m not sure why he is always so mad at me and my friends but I won’t deduct a star for his lack of kindness. They post their specials on Facebook daily, and offer an awesome variety of meats, toppings and options. I'm always impressed by the flavor combinations they come up with, especially since their specials change daily rather than weekly. The folks behind the counter are polite, kind and efficient!
