“Best ice cream around town! We moved to the area last year and discovered this spot while driving one day. We visited once and never stopped coming back. My family and I get our sweet treats from here at least once a week. We love it so much we wish they were open all year round ☺️ but nonetheless we look forward to coming here during the summer months. If you do decide to stop by, try their seasonal apple crumb caramel ice cream. It tastes just like an apple cider donut. You won’t be disappointed.“

“A nice visit opening day followed by ice cream. The grounds were kept pretty well and even with it being pretty busy things moved well. An average sized lot with a single course of 18 holes. The holes were all fairly simple in design. But less frustration from my son thanks to that. We had a great time. A nice family owned spot.“

“Despite the fact that my area has Friendly's Ice Cream, Foster's Ice Cream and Dairy Queen (all wonderful brands), we seem to gravitate to Carvel. The store smells remarkable (no fried food smell), the sheer simplicity of the menu (ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream) and they have the best soft-serve. Plus 2 for 1 sundaes on Wednesdays makes it a irresistible destination.“

“Amazing!!! Had the best grinders that I have ever had in CT. We recently went on a field trip with CREC and they gave us grinder options from Harvey's. The sandwiches were unique and delicious. By the lack of talking on the bus, it sounded to me that everyone enjoyed their grinder.“

“Overall, Ben & Jerry’s is a great spot to stop by for a scoop of ice cream! it’s been a staple of W. Hartford Center for many years now, and I’m grateful that it’s maintained such a long-term presence. The staff are always friendly, kind, and very efficient! The price is a little steep, but so is everything in West Hartford these days.

Overall, there’s a good selection of ice cream! I consume only dairy free ice cream, and usually they will have at least 2 to 3 flavors. The selection of dairy ice cream flavors is more expansive, and they truly have something for everyone in terms of taste. Their shakes and smoothies also looked delicious as well!

Unfortunately, the line is usually extremely long in the summer. The last time I was there, in late June, the line stretched all the way out the door. There were only two employees working, and they seemed quite young. They were doing a wonderful job, but it looked like a lot to juggle. In the warmer months, it may be helpful to staff more people due to the sheer volume.

I wanted to mention something that occurred at my last visit that concerned me. The line was extremely long. The couple in front of us had two medium-large sheepdogs. The dogs were extremely anxious and nervous being in such a long line and in a small and cramped space. They were clearly not doing well. A staff member kindly asked the couple to bring the dogs outside. They were obviously not service dogs as they had no vest or badge and were clearly not trained to be calm in stressful situations. The couple then proceeded to lie and say they were service animals. The staff dropped it, but I feel that a sign may be helpful for the front door stating service animals only. It was uncomfortable to see these dogs in distress in such a small shop, they were whining and very anxious.

“We came here on a warm spring day after lunch nearby. The store was very cute and clean. It was a little confusing at first on where to enter to order; there were two aisles leading to the counter. There were a few tables inside and outside. The service provided by the employee was friendly and quick.

I had the churro ice cream on a waffle cone; omg, that was so good and tasted like cinnamon toast crunch cereal in milk (as the employee had described). My toddler had the marshmallow sky ice cream, which had marshmallow and chocolate chip cookie dough; he loved it of course. The prices were steep but it was worth it. We ate our ice creams outside on their patio. I really enjoyed my visit and will be back on another cheat day!“

“My current top hidden gem for amazing and authentic Mexican food. Hidden in La plaza del Mercado, this spot has the most amazing tripe soup, where the tripe was properly cleaned, no funky taste/smell, cooked perfectly tender. Great caldo de res as well, the meat was tender and had a strong beef flavor, soup was light and refreshing and the veggies provided a nice natural sweetness and the squash was incredible inside. Their tacos are great as well and their pricing is a bargain and their portions are quite good.“

“This place is iconic in its old school decor and wonderful food. You cannot create the wonderful ambiance of booths here. They actually know that eggs and breakfast potatoes can be prepared differently. The wait staff is excellent and knowledgeable. Go and enjoy their breakfast served all day. “probably not no. just entering the establishment their was paper towels all over the place and every surface was sticky, got up to the counter it was well over a half hour in line grabbing our purchase for one bowl I chose the fruity pebbles roll. the quality was very good of the ice cream. behind the line it looked clean but personally I think these young folks that work their need to try and fit some lobby maintenance here and their. I know it's rough sometimes. but those kids definitely were working their butts off every associate their was friendly too. but the entry was unesthetically pleasing.“

“Today was a beautiful day for me, and I felt like treating myself to a cold ice cream from MilkCraf. Upon entering the location, I was immediately impressed by the welcoming atmosphere, which felt like a haven. A young black man, who was diligently working on some reports, promptly attended to me with a very attractive and professional demeanor. I was unsure about which ice cream flavor I wanted and asked if he had pistachio, to which he replied no, but offered to let me try any other flavor and provided me with two samples of the two flavors I requested. He was very pleasant and soft-spoken, which made me feel at ease. As I considered my options, I was mindful of my budget, as I hadn't planned on splurging. However, the prices were higher than I had anticipated, and I informed him of my concern. He was very focused and offered to give me a discount, which I gratefully accepted. I asked for vanilla with caramel on a cone, and he efficiently prepared my order. I felt truly blessed by his kindness and told him so, expressing my gratitude for his blessings. I believe that he possesses all the qualities necessary to run a successful and loyal business, and his ability to provide excellent customer service with a blessing spirit is truly admirable. The ice cream was not only delicious but also generously portioned. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone, as we need more individuals like this young man who understand the importance of kindness, peace, and love in building strong relationships with customers. 🍨🍦
