“It was a Monday like a Sunday since it was a holiday. Quiet. I pass it every morning but never see a spot. Today easy peasy -there was no one on the road at 8:30 am. So I went in and did two things I would not ordinarily do. Ordered a delicious latte and a pastry!! The guy who took my order was sweet and had perfect recommendations. I wanted to sit inside but I didn’t want to be alone. I sat in my car and held the cup in my hands and inhaled the aroma while I thought to myself. Next time I’ll come with a friend. “Patisserie Salzburg is the kind of place you drift toward when the sun is out and the harbor air feels just right. Small tables outside, light bouncing off the glass, people slowing down for a moment. It is my mom’s favorite spot, and once you sit there with a coffee and something sweet, you understand why.

Step inside and it feels like you’ve walked into a full European pastry counter. The display stretches with croissants, fruit tarts, layered cakes, macarons, dense chocolate slices, and rows of delicate desserts that look almost too precise to touch. It is the kind of spread that makes you pause and scan twice. You come in thinking café, but it leans closer to a full bakery in both range and quality.

Then you notice it goes further. Behind the sweets is a full lunch lineup that could stand on its own anywhere in Stamford. Pizza slices with bubbling cheese, golden quesadillas, trays of chicken wings, baked pastas, fresh salads, dumplings, and soups. There is even a proper deli section with wraps and prepared foods that feel homemade rather than mass-produced. It is not trying to be one thing. It just does everything well and lets you choose your mood.

While there are a few locations, it still feels very much like a personally run operation rather than a polished chain. There is consistency, but also personality, and that comes through in the food and in the atmosphere.

The space itself is compact, but that is part of its appeal. It carries that European side street café energy, a little tight, a little busy, but warm and lived in. Nothing feels staged. It feels real.

The staff are friendly and efficient, but there is also a presence you notice quickly, the no nonsense “mama” running the place. She may not return your smile, even if you offer one first. But it does not come off as cold. It reads more like someone who has seen everything, knows exactly what she is doing, and stands firmly behind what she serves. There is something honest about that. In a town where many places try too hard to charm, this kind of quiet confidence stands out.

Patisserie Salzburg is more than a café, more than a bakery, and more than a lunch spot. It brings all of it together with character. On a warm day in Harbor Point, it is exactly where you want to be.“

“Sat at bar with a friend. We received our order which was fine. But once we were done the bartender did not clear off our dirty dishes from the bar. We pushed them to the side and in front of us and she just ignored them. So instead of ordering a desert we just decided to leave. Food was good service was horrible. Plus, a lot of the employees just hung at the end of the bar and talked. What a shame.“

“Mom and Pop bagel place. Awesome tasting bagels for a very reasonable price. Place gets very busy. We stopped by around 930am and had to wait about 20 minutes for our food. But, It was worth it. Fresh bagels were being made as we waited. It was cool to see the baking process.“

“Simply put, Joe’s has the best pizza outside of New Haven and he certainly rivals even the best places in New Haven as well. We all know there’s two things that make a good pizza, dough and sauce, and Joe’s has both nailed down tight! My other big favorite is grandma‘s meatballs, they have an extraordinary flavor. It’s obvious that they take an unmatched pride in their work. The staff is always kind and attentive. I actually like it when I’ve got a few minutes to wait when I’m picking up on a busy Friday, watching the crew is interesting as they run like a finally tuned machine and do their best to get everybody taken care of in a timely manner. Highly highly recommend I would give them 10 stars if I could.“

Atmosphere was quaint and inviting. Staff was exceptionally attentive and polite even though it was busy! We can’t wait to go back!“

Nick is an excellent teacher and did not overwhelm me with changing a lot of things. He pointed out areas that I can improve on and he was very supportive and encouraging. “I’ve found it. The best way to blow through a paycheck over a single breakfast. Espresso and a pastry for $15…. But, somehow, I think I’ll be coming back. Love the communal atmosphere with great big heavy wooden tables and chairs. A number of 4 and 6 tops as well. Bright and airy open feel make this a lovely warm atmosphere to share a delicious espresso and pastry. Espresso was quite tasty but unfortunately served in a tiny paper cup - I guess I should have specified I was eating in. Nice nuttiness and a subtle bitterness and right up my alley. There were so many amazing looking pastries on display i really struggled to decide how to put back on all of the calories I just lost on my Peloton but eventually landed on the Chocolate Chip Cookie Croissant. And - holy smokes - it did not disappoint. The thing must weigh 8 ounces due to it being stuffed with chocolate chip cookie dough and a plethora of incredibly delicious molten chocolate. Incredibly naughty and delicious. Great spot to stop in for a pastry but they also have a larger menu with salads and breakfast specialties in addition to their lovely baked goods. Unreal!!“

“Been coming for a couple years and always great but lately lunch has been a train wreck and not the same atmosphere. Charlotte is a saving grace. It flows better when she is there and the days she has been gone it has had a different atmosphere. We miss her terribly. On a better note they have excellent catering and a fabulous sandwich menu! This place is a Greenwich gem. The gentlemen in the kitchen out do themselves when it comes to breakfast. A must try before or after lunch hours.“

“Came here back in December. Loved it! Room was very nice with a nice view of the atrium. The atrium is awesome! Makes you feel like you’re in California or Florida! I do wish the restaurant and gazebo bar were open. But the food we got from room service was really good and were still able to eat in the atrium. But you should definitely consider re-opening the restaurant and gazebo bar, why haven’t you re-opened it since COVID? The indoor pool is really nice with a hot tub! Overall, love this place and still would come back again even though the restaurant and gazebo bar are closed because it’s so nice!“
