“Had a wonderful Saturday brunch here. After we ordered and grabbed a table, I noticed the salads on the table next to ours had wheat croutons. When our food came, my boyfriend's brioche was wheat, as was my sourdough toast. It was unexpected but everything was absolutely delicious. The breads we had did not taste like normal wheat to me - they lacked the heavy, earthy mouthfeel that wheat usually has. The portions were generous and everything tasted super fresh. The house made sausage was perfectly greasy with whole peppercorns embedded in the meat. The hash brown was dense and buttery. The char on the asparagus was beautiful. I read their website after brunch, and saw they only use non-commercially milled wheats and heritage grains. That explains why the baked goods were so good. We took home a chocolate croissant and a strawberry rhubarb pie and they were both divine. I was surprised at how good the wheat tasted, especially the croissant which was light and airy. I didn't know wheat could taste so good! Will definitely return to this cute little spot. Parking is limited which is the only downside.“
“Cannot say enough good things about our experience at The Porch at Christie's. The space is beautiful and inviting, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy their endless supply of delicious baked goods, sandwiches, coffee, etc.. After ordering our food we started chatting with Andrea, the owner, who was at a nearby counter prepping cookies and she could not have been kinder!! Such a great experience and we cannot wait to go back!“
“The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, with excellent customer service to match. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. Their burgers are a standout - made in-house and packed with fresh veggies, a clear difference from the processed options like Beyond or Impossible burgers. They offer a wide variety of drinks, including smoothies, coffee, and cold beverages. They also have a selection of pre-packaged grab-and-go meals, and their desserts are delightful. I will definitely be back for another visit.“
“I’ve been trying to find an allergy friendly bakery that actually takes cross contamination precautions seriously and the cake box exceeded my expectations. I have a family member that has a wheat egg and peanut allergy. He can eat the vegan cake here no problem. And the cake is delicious!! Thank you so much for being awesome!“
“The juice is freshly made at the juice bar in the back of the store. I recommend the everything juice with beets, carrots, celery, kale, ginger, spinach and lemon. The falafel are amazing! I enjoyed them on a salad with fresh greens and yummy dipping sauce. Hummus ? is creamy with just the right balance of ingredients. It’s a small Mom & Pop shop that offers delicious foods with a smile ?10/10 in my opinion! Parking is convenient and there are also some other small business shops that neighbor in the same plaza.“
“Little Beet is the most empathetic and accommodating restaurant in Southern Connecticut for people with food allergies. I am raising a boy with egg, wheat, and peanut allergies and I can always count on this place to make my son feel safe. I am so thankful for this place!“
“My wife and I are foodies. For the past five years, this is our favorite restaurant in Connecticut, worth every penny. The tables may be small and crowded and the wine selection is very limited, but flavors are amazing, as is the variety of unexpected choices. We're hooked on some dishes, but I encourage you to explore the entire menu. You won't be disappointed.“
