“I got take out and while I was in the restaurant waiting the staff appeared to be doing a great job waiting on tables, and the place looked really nice. My takeout order took a reasonable amount of time and was really good. I was working at the railway museum and ordering takeout from here works really well because I can get food fairly quickly between trains.“
“We completely enjoyed our first visit to Geppetto on Valentines day. The atmosphere, my wife pointed out, seemed to make Connecticut disappear and Italy appear in it's place. The menu is comfortable and small which we like because it says that real care will be taken with your meal...and this was clearly the case with each of two courses we enjoyed. The grilled octopus and my wife's Quail antipasto were prepared perfectly. The bucatini all'Amatriciana and lamb was fantastic and delivered hot and delicious. “We’ve been trying several different pizza spots around town but always come back to this place. They have so much variety and a selection of white pizza’s (which are my fave). When we have out of town guests we usually order from here and people are always complimenting it. “After much anticipation, my fiancé and I went to Diorio to celebrate our anniversary several months ago! This spot has been high on my list of restaurants to visit ever since they reopened after COVID and remodeling. The interior was so charming, with a classy vintage feel that I absolutely loved. The menu definitely had some good choices, and while everything we ordered was good, we did agree that we’ve had better. Mostly we thought my fiancé’s ribeye could’ve used more seasoning, but the truffle butter that he had with it definitely added to the flavor. The pasta with my chicken parm was a bit cold, so it must’ve been plated before the chicken. One of the highlights for us though was when the waitress came around with a platter to showcase their desserts - it helped us make our decision on the banana banoffee and chocolate cake. The banoffee was excellent, but the chocolate cake was a little dry. Overall, I do think this is a great option to have in downtown Waterbury, and I would still come back to try some other dishes. We came on a weeknight and were impressed to see that it got pretty busy at peak dinner time!“

We were seated promptly upon arrival in a corner booth which was out of the way and perfect for our date. Or server was attentive and answered all of our questions on the menu. We ordered a martini and Pinot noir with a large meatball appetizer. The drinks were very good and the meatball was amazing. Honestly l could've been our meal for the evening. We ordered a shrimp and scallops scampi and an angel hairAlfredo. We completed the night with a very rich tiramisu. All of our dishes were excellent. “We were traveling through the arena on Hwy 84 at 6 am and wanted coffee. Caffe Italia was the only place open so we drove into Waterbury. Winding our way there we almost decided to turn around and then…there it was. This was like walking into a little Italian neighborhood hangout….with EXCELLENT espresso! At 6 am there was a group of local Italians, reading papers, playing cards and generally sharing the days news. It felt like being at home with family. Great atmosphere! “Back in December 2022 I had my baby shower at East Street Eatery, and it was amazing. The food, the service the atmosphere was absolutely perfect. So perfect I came back to have my daughter’s first birthday party in 2/2024, and once again it was amazing. The service was impeccable, we had Nancy running our room and she was phenomenal. Gina, the manager is so attentive and was there to answer all my questions throughout the whole planning process. The food was so good, all my guests talked about how good it was. I found a certificate on Restaurants.com for the pizzeria, and it was a good deal. Lunch and dinner at a discount! The burgers were pretty large, as were the fries if you ordered them as a side. The pizza had more of a tomato-acidy sauce than sweet, but a good amount of cheese. You could order by the slice inside. There is also ice cream, onion rings in the hot food area, and baked goods wrapped for desserts. There's both Coke and Pepsi in the coolers, and chips behind the window side booths. They also have a bar area and sell on Slice! Big Daddys also does local delivery on certain days in the evening. Goodness, there's a lot going on. Plus, a good flow of pick up orders. The gentlemen at the register seemed to have a good handle on things though.“

“It was our first time here, and the experience was great. We had dinner on a Sunday, and it wasn't really super busy, in my opinion. Yes, the restaurant was almost full, but it really wasn't loud or squished in like others have mentioned with the seating situation. Our waitress brought out bruschetta to start, and it was great, we ordered their calamari dish, which was quite large, and they brought complimentary mussels to go with that dish. We got our main dishes and of course by that time you were quite full but we ate what we could and wrapped it up. Our reservation was for 7 pm, we left around 10pm. You are fed the entire time, so honestly it doesn't feel like your waiting for your entrees hungry. I will be trying their new location once they move to see if things change.“
