“My family and I walked into paesanos pasta house and I ordered an medium pizza which was ready in only 15 minutes but what impressed me was I also ordered a 2nd pizza an extra large for my mother and I was able to watch the cook make the pizza by handstand the whole order both pizzas were ready to go in about 40 minutes or less highly recommend to try their pizzas. Escarole, beans and sausage, long hot peppers in a marinara sauce, and a huge meatball for our appetizers were all amazing. My wife got chicken français and I chose linguini and shrimp with a scampi sauce. Both our dinner came with a generous salad and homemade bread. What a great addition to Southbury! “After much anticipation, my fiancé and I went to Diorio to celebrate our anniversary several months ago! This spot has been high on my list of restaurants to visit ever since they reopened after COVID and remodeling. The interior was so charming, with a classy vintage feel that I absolutely loved. The menu definitely had some good choices, and while everything we ordered was good, we did agree that we’ve had better. Mostly we thought my fiancé’s ribeye could’ve used more seasoning, but the truffle butter that he had with it definitely added to the flavor. The pasta with my chicken parm was a bit cold, so it must’ve been plated before the chicken. One of the highlights for us though was when the waitress came around with a platter to showcase their desserts - it helped us make our decision on the banana banoffee and chocolate cake. The banoffee was excellent, but the chocolate cake was a little dry. Overall, I do think this is a great option to have in downtown Waterbury, and I would still come back to try some other dishes. We came on a weeknight and were impressed to see that it got pretty busy at peak dinner time!“

“Me and my individual went there last night. We each got our own pizza. Broccoli & chicken pizza, pepperoni pizza. Both were very delicious especially with that crunchy crust not too crunchy but just perfect. The family there was very nice, helpful and funny. “Ordered a large pepperoni pizza for pick up, i drove down there and the older women was in the middle of making the pizza as i walked in. I paid for the pizza with younger lady there and i had a comfortable seat as the pizza cooked, i like to get the pizza fresh and hot as soon as it comes out of the oven to bring it home still hot for the family. The inside of restaurant looked clean and cozy for dine in, tv's playing and holiday lights on. The pie with one topping and tax came to $21.47 which is alittle more than i would like to pay for a one topping large pizza but all in all it was cooked well and tasty still when i got home. Something to note is that if you want to do a half one topping pizza, it still cost the same amount for the one topping cost which i don't particularly like when restaurants do that.“
“My first visit to the Eatery was a very pleasant experience. My gf and I made reservations same day for Friday night out. We were seated promptly upon arrival in a corner booth which was out of the way and perfect for our date. Or server was attentive and answered all of our questions on the menu. We ordered a martini and Pinot noir with a large meatball appetizer. The drinks were very good and the meatball was amazing. Honestly l could've been our meal for the evening. We ordered a shrimp and scallops scampi and an angel hairAlfredo. We completed the night with a very rich tiramisu. All of our dishes were excellent. Items that stood out for me was the owner's attentiveness to his patrons. He stopped at every table checking up on service and needs. Super friendly that set a nice tone for our dinner. Andrea Boccelli served as background music for our stay. D'Amelio did have a small private lot but it was very tight but there is street parking available. I look forward to our next visit. “We were traveling through the arena on Hwy 84 at 6 am and wanted coffee. Caffe Italia was the only place open so we drove into Waterbury. Winding our way there we almost decided to turn around and then…there it was. This was like walking into a little Italian neighborhood hangout….with EXCELLENT espresso! At 6 am there was a group of local Italians, reading papers, playing cards and generally sharing the days news. It felt like being at home with family. Great atmosphere! Lots of specialty Italian food, cheeses etc. Super nice guy who made our espresso. We would definitely stop in again for more!“

The restaurant itself ain't very fancy but a steady flow of traffic of people picking up and calling in for orders . They are definitely doing something right . “So despite the name, Big Daddys does have eat-in service, and also appears to be part of a gas station? The location is a bit off the beaten path, but plenty of parking. I found a certificate on Restaurants.com for the pizzeria, and it was a good deal. Lunch and dinner at a discount! The burgers were pretty large, as were the fries if you ordered them as a side. The pizza had more of a tomato-acidy sauce than sweet, but a good amount of cheese. You could order by the slice inside. There is also ice cream, onion rings in the hot food area, and baked goods wrapped for desserts. There's both Coke and Pepsi in the coolers, and chips behind the window side booths. They also have a bar area and sell on Slice! Big Daddys also does local delivery on certain days in the evening. Goodness, there's a lot going on. Plus, a good flow of pick up orders. The gentlemen at the register seemed to have a good handle on things though.“
