“Place was very pleasant looking upon arrival. Not very crowded. First put in a very tiny spot one had a nice soft bench seat the other person would have a hard chair. Being the person that would be stuck in the chair and not having a sore back at the time I asked if they had a small both or something similar. She said all they had were larger sized booths and would that be okay? Of course we were grateful and took her up on the offer. We looked over the menu and you can order reasonable or expensive. My husband started off with the clam chowder and I started off with clam fritters. His clam chowder was very tasty but on the watery side he said. My clam fritters were excellent. Just perfect cooked not burnt and super moist with actual clams inside. We both had oysters. The Mystic, Big Rock and Rhode Island. I can't believe how good these were. Perfect brine on each one. Very clean, perfectly shucked and meaty. Nice brine to every one. Next out was the steamer clams. Perfectly cooked. Nice and clean. Not one bit of sand in any of them. The taste however was not strong. Almost nonexistent same with the butter I was dipping it into. I still enjoyed them. My husband's ordered the whole belly clams. What came out looked more like a clam strip with a beginning pregnancy lol. Had the look hard to find the belly. After he mentioned it our server how we really couldn't see if they strips or whole belly. She said I can see the belly. However she told her manager who offered a replacement which he didn't want at that point so they just graciously removed the order from our bill. Our servers name was Ashley and she was very pleasant to work with. I wanted a hard seltzer. The only one available is Truly Berry on tap. Tasted fine but I had it with ice in a glass so I sure didn't get as much as someone who had it with no ice. Next time I'm going to ask for a glass of ice on the side. I will definitely return for the fritters and oyster's!! Never felt rushed. Orders came out as planned.“

“Many restaurants will charge high prices to create an aura of quality and fine dining, only to disappoint when it comes down to eating. Shipwright's Daughter is not that place. The prices are on the high side but wow, do they deliver. Four adults, four very different entrees and everyone left with all smiles. My beef strip loin was cooked perfectly and everything that accompanied it was tasty. Some signature cocktails were discounted for the 5 - 6 pm happy hour and were, again, delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive without overtaking the conversation. If your taste buds deserve a holiday this place is worth a visit.“

“We came across this place on Google looking for a place to eat. I am so glad we stopped here for dinner. The food was so delicious and the drinks. Our waitress was very friendly and constantly checking on us! Desserts were equally as delicious. I loved the view from our seats.“

“We arrived at the restaurant around 7pm without reservations and were seated immediately (Thursday night in late April). The dining area faced the waterfront, looking clean and classic. Service was fast, courteous, professional and friendly, attentive without being smothering. We ordered bread which is made on site, warm and delicious; entrees included the Seafood Squid Ink Pasta and a glazed salmon and black bean risotto special. Both were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Portion size was good. Coffee was a little bitter; i usually take it black but found myself wishing for some sugar. Desserts were carrot cake and creme brulee which were ok. The small parking lot was full, but we found street parking. Prices were medium high, ok for a special evening out.“

“We came to mystic for a weekend trip with our 4 children. I googled places for breakfast and kitchen little came up. I am so thankful we went and checked it out, it is in such a beautiful spot, we walked down by the water while we waited 5 minutes for a big table, the food was delicious, everyone was so welcoming, staff was amazing! I already want to go back for the eggs Benedict. And from ages 13, to 1 all my kids ate. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area“

“Excellent atmosphere, service, libations and fare! Where else can you go to a Colonial Tavern-Restaurant that was built before the American Revolutionary War. I have been coming for years and have found that it’s gotten better if anything! Fireplace in the bar is great. It’s my favorite in Mystic CT.“

“Wedding photographer, Mystic local, and food lover here...Oyster Club is the best restaurant in Greater Mystic for sure. I've been with my wife for a few special occasions but have also photographed a wedding celebration here.Chef Renee and company know what they are doing. If you're anything like me, you'll love the uniqueness of everything Oyster Club has to offer, from the the dishes to The Treehouse. This is New England fine dining at its best.If you're in the area (and even if you're not; just make a reservation and plan a drive), you have to stop for a meal at Oyster Club!“

“We are so happy every time we eat at Asylum! The wings are delicious, the sandwiches yummy, and the portions are excellent. We recommend Asylum not only for the tasty foods but just as important - the cleanliness and service! Asylum should be the standard for all other restaurants! Everything is tidy, made to order, and you can tell they care. Never had a delivery with my salad on top of HOT food so I can heartily say they pay attention to the details! We are originally from out of state and had a difficult time finding good takeout places - we'd be disappointed with every other place or we felt like we wasted money. Glad to have found Asylum - definitely helped make CT feel more like home.Kid-friendliness: Call in for accomodations.“

“The driveway in was bizarre but totally worth it. I got take out but i wish I had stayed because the patio on the docks was so inviting. The bisque and lobster roll were perfection and the service was excellent. I ordered online and it was easy to do and pick up.“

“Sat at the bar and had a happy-hour appetizer, mussels, and clam strips. All were great! Scored a reduced price on our drinks as well. It's Right downtown on the main street near the bridge. Kind of dark inside and not sure if outdoor seating is an option...but afterall we were there in April.“

“We have visited the place varios times and the food is incredibly good, it is served hot and in good combination of tastes. The personal is always asking if the could help in any way, and very courteous. The price is the "jaquemate" of this eating journey. We strongly recommend this.“

“4/21- current lobster roll price is $30. Got the Connecticut style one simply due to the fact that hot butter lobster rolls are superior to mayo based NE ones. The lobster roll was delicious but I thought it couldve has more lobster in it. Overall would recommend“

“We were a group of 5 in bit of rush to catch the ferry but came across this as we wanted to grab a quick bite before the ferry. Melora at Little Galapagos was the most fantastic server. She was amazingly helpful with the menu, quick with drinks and food, and went way above and beyond on service level. This was a completely random find for us and we were so glad we came here. Thank you Mel!“
“Im not surprised most of the other reviews are 5 Star. Let me explain something for the public:I have been an Oyster Fisherman for about 12 to 13 years. Most of that was been working for or contracting with Norm Bloom & Son. I’m pretty sure these guys are a subsidiary or contracted with them. The process from beginning to end of growing these oysters is outstanding and no one does it like we do. We lay down shell we’ve caught over the winter from ground we have mostly emptied(we use a suction boat retrieve the shell stock thats left) every July. There’s one week roughly in July the spawn are released from the Oysters and they sit in the water column. When we wash off the shell into the water, on its way down the spawn attach to the shell. That area is left to grow and we come back and dredge them up when they’re thumbnail sized. Those get shifted out from shore further and then quite some time after that they are moved to Norwalk and two weeks after that they are harvested, processed and bagged and pushed to restaurants like these(owned by us or normal restaurants). This process has an amazing heritage going back to the 1800’s and also, NO other shellfish is as tasty, well textured and nutritious as a shellfish from icy cold winter waters like we have here in CT. Our clams, oysters and even mussels(though they are mostly grown elsewhere as they’re problematic to grow here in the sound) I can say with certainty and authority are the BEST shellfish product you can possibly obtain in this country. Im assuming they can only be rivaled somewhat by our brothers in shell fishing over in Washington and Oregon and then maybe Europe, Scandinavia and Russia with their beautiful Shellfish resource. So ladies in gentlemen, in short and the reason I have made this review is so you all understand how blessed WE all are to have access to such a beautiful, RICH heritage and have the ability to TASTE that heritage, reap its benefits and understand why this product is superior. We are surely lucky, as many in the world will never have access to nor taste what amazing shellfish we have and if they do, it is subpar, warm water shellfish. Those waters are only good for spiny lobster, snapper and a few other fish species as far as taste and quality but the far northern and deep deep southern arctic and antarctic zoned sea food resources are a superior source to all other sources of seafood product I can assure you.Be thankful for the men (AND women more often these days!) who go out in the cold and in the heat, suffering long hours and a lot of sacrifice to their personal time and families to make sure that the companies and restaurants are well stocked with the highest quality product. Its a hard life and we do it because we love the water. Shellfish is Connecticuts greatest natural resource! Be proud of your home! Thanks for reading all!“

“It's what you'd come to expect from an excellent Diner, and it definitely has something of a family atmosphere, as well as one of "community" from the locals who live in the area. It's a diner, and not some highbrow restaurant, but considering what it is, I gave it five stars across the board. The portions are not tiny, but they're not tremendously large either, but it certainly is delicious, the service is friendly & decent-good (some visits I've had to flag-down my waitress to ask for a coffee refill, which I then soon recieved; & the staff is good with removing finished plates & trash from your table), & it's busy but roomy "diner" atmosphere is nice.“

“We love BPP!! Their food is very good quality and their entrees in particular are DELICIOUS. We love the chicken florentine over linguine, and the eggplant rollatini is very good, too! Side of meatballs and you're good to go! The employees are all very nice and the owner/chef makes all of the food to order, even the sauce is fresh as can be.“

“Husband got the Chicken Parm Grinder, I got the stromboli w/pepperoni, and we got some garlic bread w/cheese. My husband makes an amazing sauce, so typically I try what the restaurant gives and trade it out for his, we both used Irene's sauce for the garlic bread and stromboli. He was very satisfied with the chicken parm. We moved to CT just under 2yrs ago and have had some fairly disappointing food experiences - this one turned it around. Will definitely be back!“

“Great experience! We made reservation and got to Fat Tuna early. We wanted to have a beverage prior to dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to find they had Oysters, clams etc.. for Happy Hour. Of course, we had to try them. So fresh and delicious describes this experience. On to dinner....Katlyn was our server and she was nice, patient, attentive and pleasant. We had shrimp that were so fresh, they were snappy and mussels that were great. Dinner was ordered and we had everything from stuffed shrimp, fried seafood platters and a wonderful lemon chicken dish. My family has been in the restaurant business for many years and this is a must on our list. We are definitely food snobs and we will surely be back in the near future. Also, the decor is fresh, beautiful, sooo clean and a great experience not to mention the water views.“

“Always delicious- everything we have tried has been great. Prices are very reasonable and they deliver to us with easy online ordering. Can't say much about the ambiance or physical location since we always do delivery but the delivery folks have been kind and quick each time. Try the sesame chicken, the lo mein and the egg rolls are the best!“

“Well we started off with staying down at the mystic Marriott hotel in spa Looking for some places to eat and we hit Google then Yelp and Ryan's pub came up So we took a drive we couldn't find the place it's actually a little hole in the wall pub/bar next to a smoke shop, the food was excellent we had some bang bang shrimp, I had a bacon barbecue Burger With a couple Of Jack and cokes and my significant other had like a seafood platter & I will say the food was great. I wish I had gotten some pictures of the food as it was the last thing on my mind. The Atmosphere is like a pub/bar & friendly So don't be afraid of that I definitely recommend this place, Hit them up for lunch or dinner But either way I can say the food was awesome better than most restaurants.“

“Great food! Everything was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. We ordered a shrimp dish with veggies and rice...the shrimp was cooked just right which a lot of places can get wrong real fast. Also ordered the dumplings, lo mein, pan fried noodles, and crab rangoons. Dumplings tasted very fresh and the crab rangoons were on point, not too sweet, just right. Definitely making this place our new favorite to order from!“

“We held a Celebration of Life event (for my Mom) at the restaurant a few weeks ago and it was a huge success . . . thanks to all the efforts of the staff at Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant! Devon and Jennaya were awesome in helping us plan out all the logistics, menu, and room set-up. Day of event, Julie and Zack were fantastic hosts to our group of nearly 70 people. They were extremely accommodating in our tweaks to the room set-up, and their service during the entire 3-hours was fabulous. The icing on the cake was the food, which was delicious. We served Fish & Chips and clear broth chowder, which was my Mom’s favorite meal. It was truly a memorable event for everyone who attended and I can’t say enough about the staff! Well done all-around!!“

“I had gone to the Grand Central location in NYC many years ago and I remember it being the best steak I've had. Interesting, I told my server this and he said that this was different. I did t know what he meant by that. I didn't inquire any further. We ordered the MVP platter ($240) which consisted of 4 different cuts of steak along with an Italian sausage. They were all cooked to perfection (medium well) and the sausage surprised me as it was very good. I normally don't like Italian sausage as I find a spice in it not to my liking. But this was good at MJ. We ordered sides including the creamed spinach, mashed potato trio and Mac n cheese. The honey glazed rolls came with a small dish of butter and was one of the best parts of the meal! I could've ate the whole basket but I had to share with the other 3 people with me. We also ordered 2 desserts: baked Alaska and carrot cake. The total bill came to $340 including sodas. It was decently affordable considering it was a fancy steak house and everything was a la carte.Service was top notch from the moment we walked in from the hostess to our server. Place had a nice ambiance. Now to things that need improvement. I was excited to try the mashed potato trio because every great steakhouse has the best mashed potatoes right? Well, honestly the regular mash was not creamy enough. It was lacking more milk. It was nice they gave you a trio of potatoes. Now onto the dessert. The baked Alaska was very good. The carrot cake was more of a spice cake. It was served cold. It was dry and it seemed like it was made days ago, placed inside the fridge and brought out whenever an order for it was placed. A good carrot cake needs to be fresh and soft with a creamy cream cheese frosting. And again, I didn't see or taste any walnuts, raisins or carrots in it. It should be renamed "spice cake". This was the only item that was disappointing in the entire meal. I have a sweet tooth so I know a good dessert when I see & taste one. Other than this, the entire meal was to everyone's satisfaction. I expected to pay more but surprised at the total bill (not including tip). I always tip generously and the server was great. We need to take care of our servers, they really work hard.I would eat at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse again, but will not order the "carrot cake" and neither should you. There are better desserts on the menu.Vegetarian options: Mac n cheese, dinner rolls, salad, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, friesDietary restrictions: Vegetarian and low carb optionsParking: Located inside the Mohegan Sun casino.
