“My husband and I visited S & P Oyster Co. on our honeymoon, and it truly could not have been a more exquisite experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfect for a special occasion. We started with fresh oysters on the half shell, pan-seared octopus, and pan-seared scallops, each dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely outstanding. For our entrées, we enjoyed the sesame-encrusted yellowfin tuna and the homemade squid ink pasta, both of which were exceptional in flavor and quality. Our waiter, Jeff, made the night even more memorable. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, offering wonderful recommendations and never rushing us. The drinks were fantastic as well and complemented the meal perfectly. S & P Oyster Co. gave us a honeymoon dinner we will never forget. We can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to return. “The Shipwright's Daughter came highly recommended to us by locals we had talked with while vacationing in Mystic, and it did not disappoint. We booked a reservation for 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly at 7:15. From the hosts initial greeting, to our server first introducing herself at the table, every staff member made us feel welcomed. It was lovely. The cocktail my girlfriend ordered and the local draft I ordered were both outstanding. Our appetizers of Oysters on the Half Shell and a Yellowfin Tar Tar served on a Potato Pavé, were both so delicious, full of flavor, and beautiful. Our entrees consisted of the Zucchini Bucatini and the Duck Confit special, and both came out perfect. The seasoning, the cook of the duck, the plating were all immaculate. It's very clear the staff takes pride in their work, and make sure the guests have an outstanding experience. We finished with dessert, a Plum Sorbet Pavlova with a Peach Reduction, an Espresso Martini, and an Irish Coffee. We were finished with our meal and drinks and on our way by 8:20pm. All in all, it was the best experience I've had in a restaurant. The meals were phenomenal, the staff was top tier ( I apologize I can not remember our waitresses name, but she was outstanding), and the overall experience was more than I could have hoped for. If you are traveling to the mystic area, and you want to have an outstanding dining experience, this is the place for it“

“Great lunch! The price point is spot on for the quantity & especially quality of the fish. The local catch of the day for the fish & chips was Red Drum. Excellently seasoned batter & tasty flakey fillets. The fries were just the right amount of crispy & the salt & vinegar onion rings were def ride or die! Possibly the only fish & chip experience I’ve had that there was no need for any condiments. Well done to Peter & his amazing team. Looking forward to tautog & blackfish season showing up on the menu.“

Tia Lobster Roll Season The Dock Restaurant 👍🏾 Town of Waterford, CT This evening Tiana and I dropped into The Dock Restaurant located on the Niantic River in the Town of Waterford. The Dock is a seasonal spot specializing in seafood so I had to go try out their Lobster Roll and much more. I arrived hungry and ready to eat so Tiana and I ordered and reviewed: 1. Cup Lobster Bisque $8.00 👎🏾 2. Side of Clam Strips $13.00 👍🏾 3. (2) Hot Lobster Roll w/fries $33.00ea 💣 After ordering our food we walked to the dining area and picked out our table overlooking the Niantic River and patiently waited for our order number to be called. Once called we carefully escorted the tray of seafood delight to our table and I started with the Lobster Roll. I was pleasantly surprised that the lobster meat was sitting on top quality rolls. The delicious lobster Roll was paired with delicious French fries and it earned a bomb.💣 I moved onto the Lobster Bisque and I think it would have been delicious if it hadn't been served "chilled". Getting served cold lobster bisque was quickly followed by thumbs down. 👎🏾 Finally, Tiana and I added lemon to the Clam strips and we ate the whole basket.😎 They were very good so that easily earned a thumbs up. 👍🏾 The Dock Restaurant serves up great seafood and the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful when the weather is nice. “Visiting family in Groton and looking for waterfront dining. We decided on Haring’s and had zero regrets! Tuesday night around 6:00, we did not need reservations and had several parking spots available (free parking.) We ordered surf & turf, buttered lobster roll, catch of the day (swordfish), and steak frites. We sampled bites of each other’s meals and the steaks and lobster options all impressed us. Service was fantastic along with the beautiful view right on the water. Our kids both followed up the meal by ordering ice cream. They said it was the best ice cream they had ever had. 10/10 highly recommend Haring’s!“

“The oyster club puts an aggressive focus on the ingredients themselves. Less fanfare, more flavor.

The warm nautical interior seats a number of groups comfortably as well as having a spacious bar top for singles and couples.

The bartenders are knowledgeable and the staff have that calm conspiratorial air befitting delicate opulence. I sat alone at the bar enjoying a quiet afternoon to myself and was handled by one of the two bartenders who talked me through the menu in casual conversation. All my food arrived in sequence thereafter without her so much as writing anything down.

I enjoyed a selection of local oysters, fresh and delicious. Followed by a course of seasonal vegetables, sliced tomatoes in oil with dollops of cream and braised radishes in a lemon butter sauce that paired decedantly with the fat slabs of homemade sourdough.

For my entree I did a catch of the day which was cooked to perfection.

Oyster club is not about elegant technique or fancy recipes, the menu is short and printed on paper as it is ever-changing.

“We have been coming to David's place for a long time - usually very good. This time (7/23) was not the greatest. Ordered sea food salad roll toasted. It was not toasted and they have changed the sea food salad since last month. It was really good before - now it's more "Stop and Shop" type salad with big chunks. Before it was chopped up small and had a delicious taste. Also the chips were obviously the "bottom of the bag" ones. Sorry - just disappointed. We drove quite a few miles to eat there.“

We were greeted immediately and the staff had definitive answers to our questions. We asked for a recommendation and were served with a straight-from-the-oven delicious "the works" pizza. “One of the best options for a fast n’ healthy dinner, if ya don’t want to cook :) The salads are made fresh (tabouleh is the best!) daily, and I like their chicken club wrap with extra mayo. I get the grilled chicken, and they are a little on the dryer side, but it’s balanced by the lettuce, bacon, mayo, and (I add) the tabouleh salad 😉 The stuffed grape leaves are very tasty. Once the grape leaves and the fattoush weren’t fresh (that was last year). I mentioned it to them, and the food has remained consistently fresh since. My office also gets catered platters and salads from Gansett Wraps, and they are very generous, fresh, and very tasty. Wraps are awesome to take home instead of the regular grocery store bread, and you get a lot for the cost. It’s a local best bet!“

“Black point pizza is always my go to when I want an absolutely amazing pizza. for me I have the cooks keep it in the oven a bit longer so it stands up when you pick it up to eat. the sauce is to die for also. if you like your pizza a little more firm just ask and the cooks are happy to make your food exactly as you like. minor the owner is a stand up guy and really did good with this recipe. the salads and his homemade balsamic dressing is the best I've had from anywhere. if you have not come out to black point you are really missing out.
