“My husband and I visited S & P Oyster Co. on our honeymoon, and it truly could not have been a more exquisite experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfect for a special occasion. We started with fresh oysters on the half shell, pan-seared octopus, and pan-seared scallops, each dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely outstanding. For our entrées, we enjoyed the sesame-encrusted yellowfin tuna and the homemade squid ink pasta, both of which were exceptional in flavor and quality. Our waiter, Jeff, made the night even more memorable. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, offering wonderful recommendations and never rushing us. The drinks were fantastic as well and complemented the meal perfectly. S & P Oyster Co. gave us a honeymoon dinner we will never forget. We can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to return. We make it a point to come every year!“

“Great lunch! The price point is spot on for the quantity & especially quality of the fish. The local catch of the day for the fish & chips was Red Drum. Excellently seasoned batter & tasty flakey fillets. The fries were just the right amount of crispy & the salt & vinegar onion rings were def ride or die! Possibly the only fish & chip experience I’ve had that there was no need for any condiments. Well done to Peter & his amazing team. “We have been coming to David's place for a long time - usually very good. This time (7/23) was not the greatest. Ordered sea food salad roll toasted. It was not toasted and they have changed the sea food salad since last month. It was really good before - now it's more "Stop and Shop" type salad with big chunks. Before it was chopped up small and had a delicious taste. Also the chips were obviously the "bottom of the bag" ones. Sorry - just disappointed. We drove quite a few miles to eat there.“

“The Shipwright's Daughter came highly recommended to us by locals we had talked with while vacationing in Mystic, and it did not disappoint. We booked a reservation for 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly at 7:15. From the hosts initial greeting, to our server first introducing herself at the table, every staff member made us feel welcomed. It was lovely. The cocktail my girlfriend ordered and the local draft I ordered were both outstanding. Our appetizers of Oysters on the Half Shell and a Yellowfin Tar Tar served on a Potato Pavé, were both so delicious, full of flavor, and beautiful. Our entrees consisted of the Zucchini Bucatini and the Duck Confit special, and both came out perfect. The seasoning, the cook of the duck, the plating were all immaculate. It's very clear the staff takes pride in their work, and make sure the guests have an outstanding experience. We finished with dessert, a Plum Sorbet Pavlova with a Peach Reduction, an Espresso Martini, and an Irish Coffee. We were finished with our meal and drinks and on our way by 8:20pm. All in all, it was the best experience I've had in a restaurant. The meals were phenomenal, the staff was top tier ( I apologize I can not remember our waitresses name, but she was outstanding), and the overall experience was more than I could have hoped for. If you are traveling to the mystic area, and you want to have an outstanding dining experience, this is the place for it“

“Rode my Harley from Hartford down to Mystic today to have lunch at Oyster Club. I was amazed at how good the oysters were. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the roast beef sandwich off the lunch menu. It was just as delicious. They even have a tree house with seating for dining. If I could give six stars, I would. I will definitely be back. If you are thinking about going there, then go. “This is a hidden gem! We're back in Connecticut after many years and were looking for some authentic regional pizza and came upon Asylum Street Pizza. We were greeted immediately and the staff had definitive answers to our questions. We asked for a recommendation and were served with a straight-from-the-oven delicious "the works" pizza. “One of the best options for a fast n’ healthy dinner, if ya don’t want to cook :) The salads are made fresh (tabouleh is the best!) daily, and I like their chicken club wrap with extra mayo. I get the grilled chicken, and they are a little on the dryer side, but it’s balanced by the lettuce, bacon, mayo, and (I add) the tabouleh salad 😉 The stuffed grape leaves are very tasty. Once the grape leaves and the fattoush weren’t fresh (that was last year). I mentioned it to them, and the food has remained consistently fresh since. My office also gets catered platters and salads from Gansett Wraps, and they are very generous, fresh, and very tasty. Wraps are awesome to take home instead of the regular grocery store bread, and you get a lot for the cost. It’s a local best bet!“

“We just took my daughter for her 17th birthday, she originally wanted sushi. She looked at the menu and immediately changed her mind and chose to try her first seafood boil! She absolutely LOVED IT! The servers are fast and friendly and the food is GREAT! She chose snow crab legs and black mussels, my boyfriend had a crab cluster combo and I had a sausage boil combo. There was no vegetable toss even though they were prepared and ready on the cart. The cook also did not do the sake part or offer water for the kids. The food had a very bland taste to it . The server never even checked on us we had to get their attention to get a glass of water. My wife was extremely disappointed and so we're our kids. I asked to speak with the manager, and was told our chef was the manager. Overall it was a very disappointing experience and would not recommend.“
