“Vegetable soup: The vegetable soup from Rosa’s Deli comes highly recommended by me. It has plenty of fresh vegetables, is not salty at all like many others are, (my feeling on salt is that you can always add more but cannot extract it), and comes with saltine crackers and a spoon (I did not need the spoon as this was my maiden voyage for my new soup spoon)!“

“This place is a hidden gem !! The owner is very kind, and the lady at the front is always so welcoming !
This is my go to spot when I work in the area. I always get the same thing, once I walk in they already know my order (pastrami sub, with grilled onions, lettuce, extra Swiss cheese, mayo and mustard)

“Everyone talks about Sally's or Frank Pepe's apizza here and there but frankly the best pizza I've had in New Haven so far is from this spot. They do take forever to make your pizza on busy days, regardless it is well worth waiting for. I'm assuming the pizza would be less expensive if they didn't charge so much for toppings. The pizzas are huge, plan accordingly with a group of buddies instead of ordering a whole pie for yourself. Would say the same of the calzone, which a friend got“

One of the best Italian combos I've ever had in my lifetime. The amount of sandwich that this one man serves you for $10 should be the national standard for America. They make really good sandwiches on sub rolls? with a free can of soda with it for like $7, and that's with basically whatever you want on it. “We got the vegan combo grilled wrap with roasted red peppers and without the special veggie mix, but we asked for some on the side when we went in to pick it up. (I’m not a fan of green peppers, and my husband can’t eat raw onions, so this way we could pick and choose. Turns out the green peppers were perfectly fine! They must have mellowed while marinating.). We chose the whole wheat wrap. It had a nice nutty flavor to it.

The “carpaccio” and/or “prosciutto” was quite nice! It was way more tender than most other vegan deli slices I’ve had. (Apparently they import it from Italy). The flavors were excellent!

We waited a few hours before eating it, since we got it for a later lunch as soon as they opened at 10:00 and kept it in a cooler. It was a little soggy in places, but still quite tasty. I definitely recommend it.

“Stopped by looking for a snack and man did Amanda deliver. I got the chicken bacon ranch on a grinder and a side of pasta salad. This is honestly one of the best CBR I’ve had.The chicken is super moist, coupled with heaps of crispy smoked bacon, which you can really taste. The ranch gives a creamy base layer that ties in the thick cuts of lettuce and tomatoes. This is all gift wrapped in a layer of cheddar cheese. The bread was crispy and held the insides of this sub together, without leaking through.I’ll be back to try the whole rest of the menu, you should too!“

“My go-to at Michael’s deli is “The Day-After” on a wrap. The turkey is fresh and stuffing & cranberries combo isn’t something you can get at other sandwich shops. Today’s sandwich and service was excellent. A reminder for me to keep Michael’s in my weekly lunch rotation.“

“I’m not a regular patron of the old B&M deli but I can say I have tasted the old VS new and coming from another town, I am proud to say that the shoes have been filled! The quality and dedication that the new owners bring surpasses any deli nearby.( I can only speak within my parameters) we can all talk about quality meats which many places lack. Even your local markets! but If you’re hungry and want a savory sandwich/burger then this is your place! My fav’s are the Bacon Egg&Cheese And STK & cheese on a hard roll🤗“
