“We had the most wonderful experience with Langley’s for our small, intimate wedding reception. The customer service was great from start to finish. The event manager Brian was incredibly attentive and made sure every detail was taken care of, ensuring our day went smoothly. The food was fantastic and we received rave reviews from our guests. The team went above and beyond by setting up our decorations exactly as we envisioned, making the space look beautiful. They were also very accommodating and willing to work with us in case we needed to move our outdoor ceremony indoors, as well. We highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a place to hold your event.“

“I ordered a Mediterranean veggie sandwich for lunch and it was so amazing that I ended up stopping on my way home and picking up dinner for the family. I was able to customize some of the sandwiches through the app and they got everything right. The ingredients were so fresh and the sandwich was so well made that it didn’t fall apart. “This is currently a restaurant as the upper floor where the guest rooms are is not yet open. The restaurant was amazing! I had the most incredible bowl of chicken chili and then pork tostadas that were delicious. My spouse had the tuna nachos and spinach salad with steak that was equally wonderful. The servings were as beautiful as they were delicious. Our server was great, attentive and helpful. The host was a lovely local woman who shared lots of interesting history about the building (incredible) and surrounding grounds. We ate in the dining room with a beautiful view of the ocean and romantic background music and peeped into the bar where there was live music and lots of folks having a good time. We highly recommend for a delicious and reasonably priced meal.“

“07.26.25 *WRITTEN REVIEW Big Al’s Reel Reviews – EP.143 Sapore Pizzeria Town of Old Lyme, CT This morning, I dropped a post asking if any restaurants wanted to invite Big Al’s Reel Reviews to their spot—and guess who hit me up? Sapore Pizzeria in Old Lyme. So I pulled up—and let me tell you right now… this one felt special the minute I walked through that door. The welcome? Warm. The vibe? Bustling. The atmosphere? Absolutely amazing—families dining, good conversation, and a team that made me feel like I’d been coming there for years. My server, Sarah, was top notch—attentive, kind, and on point from the jump. The owners were there as well, and you could feel the pride in the place. Turns out, the owner is originally from Naples, Italy and used to work for Illiano’s before opening this place six years ago. That Naples-to-Old-Lyme pizza lineage is real. And then something beautiful happened… A true B.A.R.R.fan—Troy Gaston—saw I was at Sapore and drove over just to show love. So I invited him to sit down and have dinner with me. That’s what this is all about: community, connection, and real support from real people. Troy’s a solid dude and a subscriber, and I appreciated him being part of this experience. Here’s what I ordered: 1. Meatballs in Vodka Sauce – $11 Served with toasted ciabatta. These were tender and flavorful, and the vodka sauce was creamy and smooth. A perfect starter. 💣 2. New York-Style Cheese Pizza (17”) – $20.50 This right here was the star of the show. Thin, crispy, cheesy, and cooked just right. I gave this a DOUBLE 💣💣 — one of the best I’ve had on the shoreline. 3. Chicken Parmigiana Bolognese – $24 Served over penne pasta with rich, meaty bolognese. This was another 💣. Classic flavor, hearty sauce, and that perfect comfort-food bite. And then… out came a complimentary tiramisu—a gift from the kitchen. That kind of gesture speaks volumes. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious, a smooth and sweet way to end an already dope meal. The food was fire. The service was flawless. The atmosphere was family-friendly and full of good energy. And the fact that they reached out and invited me in? That means something. “Have been a few times, once for lunch after the Niantic 5K, and also for dinner on two occasions. Chef Rachel is always coming up with great dishes, I've never had a tapas or main I didn't enjoy here. Overall, one of my favorite shoreline spots.“

“I have ordered delivery from Boardwalk many, many times. I have always placed my order quickly and had friendly service. Not today! I ordered 2 dinners with appetizers and spoke with someone who seemed new. They wouldn't make one of the dinners I ordered, so I chose something else. When asked if I was paying cash or card, I said card. After some discussion with his " boss", I was told I couldn't use a credit card, cash. What?? Always use my card. Something very shady going on over there. Never again“

“Osmino’s Grill is a gem of New London! The food is amazing, take out is always easy, the owners are the sweetest, and there is always something on the menu for everyone! Their pizza is awesome. I can’t say enough amazing things about this restaurant! 20/10 recommend!“

“We stopped in for a late breakfast at Bobby’s Burger Palace, owned by Bobby Flay, at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino. It was very good. At first sight my burrito didn’t look like much laying dry on the plate, but when I opened it up I could see it was full of nice ingredients. It tasted great! And my hubs got the steel cut part and loved them. They had a little sweetness to them and just the right amount of cinnamon, cranberry and yogurt. I tasted it and really like it too. We would definitely go back here again. I also love Illy coffee so bonus! :)“

“Disappointing. Not the friendly service you expect from Panera. I have been going here for years, and they changed all the recipes for the worse. The soufflés are not soufflés. They are puff pastry with scrambled eggs. The puff pastry is touch and doesn't cook well. Their baguettes used to be authentic. Now, they are a loaf of bread. The quality if the turkey has gone down. No more metal utensils. It is almost impossible to cut a soufflé with their cheap plastic knife. They don't check their coffee levels and they run out constantly. Complaints to the manager did nothing. You'd not hear the word thank you anymore. They don't ask for your pabeta rewards card. They don't ask if you want to use your rewards. They charge you the wrong amount. This can't all be the fault of the cashier. Where is the manager? I could go on.

Kid-friendliness: I have always brought my kids here, but they don't have anything geared towards kids. Beware of the highly caffeinated teas.“

“My sister was in town visiting from Maine and stayed at the Holiday Inn. We went to La Luna for dinner and drinks. 5 stars isn't a high enough ranking for the absolute amazing service we had. This gem of a spot needs more love from the locals. Our dinner was absolutely delicious. Additionally, one of my biggest pet peeves at a restaurant is the staff complaining and there was NONE of that going on here. They all helped each other and it was awesome. The whole experience was fantastic 👏“

“This company always hires the best people. Things go right 95% of the time but the other 5% the kindness and generosity of the staff make up for it and then some. I went for lunch just as they began serving and there was a slight delay. Nadia B was apologetic and doubled my order on the house. Acts like this endear me to chik fil a and it's wonderful staff.“
