Maketto offered comfort food and a relaxed, casual dining experience. Menu has small, medium, and large plates - we were told to treat the small plates as appetizers and the medium/large plates as entrees. Our table of four ordered three large plates and four small plates, which left us with some leftovers to take home. I especially loved the oysters, shrimp dumplings, shrimp fried rice, and short rib. Look forward to coming back and trying other dishes.
Been dying to try this restaurant so when I saw the special mileage Plus event I jumped on it for 12,000 miles a ticket. There seemed a snafu in communicating once the tickets were purchased. But that wasn't the restaurants fault. I did call them about a severe allergy of my guest but they didn't seem concerned. They told me to mention it when we arrive. The place was beautifully set up. If you're a fan of the arts, Maketto is the place to be in DC! I was traveling here for a concert and was looking for a good coffee shop to stop by to, but Maketto has sooo much more! This half coffee shop, half shoe store, half record shop, half restaurant is a must try! The coffee and beverages are amazing and the atmosphere is unforgettable.
