“Tony's is a local Italian restaurant in Newark along Chestnut Hill Road (DE 4) in a shopping plaza anchored by the local Shoprite. The dining area is basic, mostly what you'd expect from a local restaurant. However, the decor could use a little bit of an update and then it'd be just right.
The menu features what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant in the orbit of Philadelphia - pizzas, pastas, strombolis, etc. and have a great variety of different pizzas. For my meal, I went with a vegetarian pizza (spinach, tomato and ricotta cheese) and an order of garlic bread. The pizza itself was pretty tasty and the ricotta made a good contrast to the mozzarella on the pie itself and the vegetables were generally nice and fresh. The crust was also pretty decent as it could hold the slice and had just enough crisp for a good thin-crust pizza. The miss for me was the garlic bread. I don't know if it was the preparation for my particular order, but my bread had some minced garlic topping the butter on the bread rather than well-dispersed in the butter. I love garlic but trying to eat those pieces of minced garlic wasn't for me as it was bitter. I would like to see them better incorporate the garlic into the bread as that might help the read out. The garlic aside, the bread was nicely baked and had the butter and garlic been better spread I would have really enjoyed it.
The service was decent as well. I didn't have to wait too long for a refill and the server made sure I was take care of at my table.
Overall, it's a nice neighborhood Italian restaurant for those local to Newark and you'll at least get an enjoyable meal if you visit here.“

“My daughter is an UD student so we've tried most of the restaurants on Main St. and this was definitely the best we have had so far! It was family weekend so they were packed but the service was great and food delicious. I had the salmon, which was cooked perfectly. My daughter had the tortellini, which was delicious!“

I have decided to redo my previous review because I never read the reviews before and it looks as if someone is out to sabotage N&J REVIEWS. That is not fair because this is somebodys family who has worked hard for over 50 years. The one thing I will agree with is the girl who answers the phone ,sure does not like her job, she is rude and doesn't like for you to ask questions about anything. I've only ordered delivery because of a car accident so I can't speak on the establishment atmosphere itself. I know back in the day we loved going in because they would speak Italian and we would bring our friend who spoke Italian and the things they would say that they didn't know we could here were crazy stories we loved to eavesdropin. They also loved beautiful woman who they would also speak about but in a great way.
I can tell by reading the reviews and comments that have been on here lately are being made from someone that has a grudge against them and are having people that I'm sure never been there to put bad reviews up. I would ask people to go there themselves and form your own opinion. I've had things not up to par but nothing to do with the taste and quality of the food. I would not being going there for 50 yeara if the food tasted the way the reviews said. I hope in the future people leave an honest review because even if you don't have your own business karma will get you another way . Good luck in the future Nick and Joes ... maybe just critique a few things and maybe have the phone person who is the first representative of your business go to a customer service training course on line because her attitude could already set somebody's 2mind to having a bad experience so then they look at every point of service with not so rose colored glassesI wish your nothing but the best and I just ordered your 2 medium pizza specials one with jalapenos... face 5 star for atmosphere because I'm not going to give bad stars for something idk about

“We order from here entirely too often. It’s fast, hot, reliable, good-tasting food, and the portions are generous. We’ve ordered a bunch of types of sandwiches, the chicken tenders, eggplant parm, cheesesteaks, and it always gets here with integrity - not cold or mushy or lukewarm. The corn nuggets are one of the best items on the menu.
The most impressive thing is that after ordering a million times, not once have I ever received a soggy cannoli, not even a soft shell. They’re always crispy. I’ve seen some people complain about them and honestly, I think they’re good, I always get one, and they’re much better than the alternative, which is no cannoli. Tiramisu is also good and rich, but I always go back to the cannoli.“

“Yatz's is the BEST. Definitely in the top 3 of Delaware. The Ladies who create those delicious mouth watering subs are tremendously nice and very kind. The best part for me are the Tomatoes that Yatz's uses. I do not know where they get it from but when its laid on that turkey sub with a bag of chips and a cold one from their great juice selection....food ambiance at its finest. I usually pay for extra tomatoes!! Oh and the water ice in summertime, salud...“
