“This was our first time visiting Hummingbird to Mars. We had heard from friends prior to going about how the place was set up. Our expectations were in line with how the restaurant runs. As a speakeasy, the focus is on the cocktails, which are made painstakingly by hand. Their preparation is true to historic standards and no detail is overlooked. The time it takes to receive your drinks might be a little longer than a traditional bar, but they are WELL WORTH IT.
Regarding the ambience, the location mimics the experience one might have had 100 years ago during prohibition. Upon arrival, you ring a doorbell at an otherwise nondescript entryway where you are greeted by friendly staff who will escort you up a flight of candlelit stairs to your table. The location can accommodate a few dozen people so making reservations would be prudent.
Once seated, you’ll be given an extensive drink menu from which you’ll certainly find a customized cocktail that will suit your taste. Our server was knowledgeable about the cocktails and helped us make educated choices with respect to food and drinks.
Considering we went in December, an excellent Jazz trio literally drummed up the background music…jazz interpretations of Christmas classics, which everyone enjoyed.
In a world of bland restaurant chains, this place stands out like a gem. You will not be disappointed.“

“Very nice little spot tucked away. They serve pizza and other food. I have not tried much of the food yet. I live in smyrna, so it's a hike. They have a huge bar outside by the water. They have live music and a DJ. I will definitely be going back. They only gripe I have was the female bartender being rude to a friend of mine.... other than that, I like the place i definatly need to try the food and get some pictures

Parking: They have valet parking if you pull up to the front there. The valet guy was cool. There are a few parking lots behind the building just drive past the entrance and they are on the right...“

“This place is one of my all time favorites. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, good music, fun events every night, good food at the food truck. The bartender with the green hair is especially sweet and attentive. This place quickly became my home bar.“

“Named as one of the top dive bars in the country, Murph's is a bit less ragged and run down and a step up from some of the dives I've been in. It's clean, tastefully decorated, and spacious. You can immediately tell that this is a neighborhood bar, where the locals are all familiar with one another. There is ample space for pool, and the 360 degree wrap-around bar is a great touch. We only came in for beer, and I can report back that the draft beer is quite cold!“

“I love that children are not in this place, best bartenders and waitresses in the business. Food isn’t costing you a mint and it’s good bar food. Also they really do make the best Jamison crush out there. Fun spot so glad we were alerted to it.“

“Walking into this Trolley Square gem feels like a warm embrace! From the moment we stepped inside, the welcoming presence of Jacquline, our host, guided us to a comfortable table tucked away in the back. Her genuine friendliness set the perfect tone. Shortly after, the delightful Katie became our server, her pleasant demeanor immediately putting us at ease and smoothly starting our culinary journey. The menu boasted a tempting array of options, and we eagerly chose the kale Caesar, cornbread, and brisket mac and cheese to begin. Oh my goodness – each starter was an absolute revelation! For our main courses, my wife savored the delicate lamb gnocchi, while I thoroughly enjoyed the perfectly cooked salmon. Neither dish disappointed; they were both executed flawlessly. A thoughtful touch was Katie finding me a delicious non-alcoholic beer, a real treat since I don't drink. To conclude our exceptional meal, we shared a lemon pound cake that was simply divine. Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this wonderful spot in Trolley Square. Everything, from the ambiance to the exquisite food and the extraordinary service, was truly on point.“

“Whenever I need to unwind and I’m in Delaware, I come here. It’s like “Cheers” for my people. I’m in my zone, playing the jukebox, chatting with the regulars, and having a Jack. The owner “Lady” is the realest lady I know, she’s a mentor to many and a force in the community.“

“I was NOT disappointed! I decided to come here for a Saturday lunch after scrolling through the options in Wilmington. I was able to find parking on the street easily. I walked in, sat at the bar right away and was quickly greeted with a friendly bartender. I was super excited to see that they have Leinie’s on tap! As a Wisconsin native I couldn’t pass up the Leinie’s Juicy Peach sour. It was a great and refreshing drink. I also enjoyed the French Onion Soup. It came out piping hot and was perfect.
