Mitchell's Restaurant 1400 N Cocoa Blvd, Cocoa Breakfast • $

“Stopped for brunch this morning first time there. It’s a typical diner. Was disappointed that a business that says Mitchell’s Mimosas had no champagne to make mimosas. It’s not far from a few places that they could’ve picked up a few bottles of sparkling wine if running low. It is Father’s Day after all. Best part of entire experience was the very friendly, efficient waitress Trinity. She was attentive, suggested a few things on the menu, ensured beverages were filled. Food was good- typical diner. Is it a place I would go out of my way for? Probably not. But if I do, I would want Trinity as my server.”

Oasis Market & Cafe 507 S Cocoa Blvd, Cocoa Mediterranean • $

“LOVE Oasis. We eat there twice a week. Food is always fresh, and I haven't had anything I didn't like. They have an amazing variety of bottled drinks and sodas . Clean, small hidden gem.

Vegetarian options: I'm not a meat eater and there are so many salad options. I get the four side salad platter and never leave hungry.

Dietary restrictions: Owner cuts cucumber for me to dip the hummus because I don't eat white grains. Always tells me what's in the salads so I don't accidentally eat something I can't have. Today ordered a side salad not realizing Couscous was in it. He immediately said, "you can't have that, it has white grain in it". Love how they care for their customers.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This coffee shop has all the ingredients for a perfect recipe. First, the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting … with local artists highlighted. Their bathroom has a baby changing table, their back room has a child’s table and basket of books … they have a “free mug exchange” program … and a rewards program (free drinks!). Did I mention how clean the shop is?!?! Next, every single person who works there (inclusive of course of the owner) are always personable, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable - whether to assist a customer to figure out “that perfect drink match” or to tweak a drink or simply to help make the day happier … they are always on point. Every. Single. Person. Finally, they make many of their syrups homemade (yum!!!) … they make their own popsicles … they sell locally owned bakery items (inclusive of gluten free) … their options are incredibly delicious across the board. I first came here during COVID on the way home from the hospital having my first child. Now, more than 4 years later, I am a 5-6 day a week customer … their lattes and bagels are the best! Special shout out to Hannah who literally notices and asks when I have missed being there a day or more … and who always remembers and uses my name. But honestly, I adore every single barista there … they remember my favorite drink no matter the season … they care … they laugh and have fun … they create this amazing little shop. I have never gone anywhere else that comes close. Check them out and spend some money … tip well … they deserve it and you deserve what they offer!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

Pub Americana 401 Delannoy Ave, Cocoa American • $

“Cocoa Beach, FL. Surprisingly fresh and healthy salads! The menu’s not just hamburgers and pub food. They have a good variety of salads.

As a birthday treat, we came here to Cocoa Village as my friend wished. When we got hungry, Pub Americana met our health needs.

Their Wedge Salad featured Gorgonzola cheese, crisp bacon chunks, cherry tomato halves, thin red onion slices and blue cheese dressing over a couple little wedges of iceberg lettuce. It was delicious and filling and it met my needs for a low carb, lower-potassium meal.

My friends both got the Steak Caprese salads: Grilled tenderloin steak bites (a lot of them!), fresh mozzarella, grape tomatoes, Arcadian greens drizzled with a balsamic reduction. They were delighted with how good everything tasted.

We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh sea air. Pub Americana is across the street from Taylor Park, and beyond that you can see the ocean.

Like many of the establishments in Cocoa Village, Pub Americana welcomes dogs, so we had two furry friends sitting near us with their families.

Our server (short dark hair) was wonderful. They knew what they were doing, remembered all the details, kept our glasses topped off, and checked on us and everyone outside very well. This was on Saturday, 5/31/25, around 1:25 pm.

I recommend sitting outdoors here, if you can.

By the way, their bathroom is to the left of the entrance and you go down a big dip in the floor that’s hard to see. Both my friends stumbled a bit going down and up that section of flooring. They commented the incline down could be better marked with a warning.”

“I enjoy the food and usually have a pretty good experience when going to this location. Even if they are rushing you, you are in control of that situation when you are ordering your food, have a spine. Some of you guys need to grow up, if some of the workers are an issue tell the manager on duty instead of whining about it here. If you take it directly to them, the problem gets handled way faster. I've worked in food service and customer service for ~4 years. The sewage you guys spit on here takes so much longer to work its way down the pipeline than directly confronting the staff when you're having bad service. Take care. And if any of the staff are reading this, keep up the good work 👍”

REC 225 225 King St, Cocoa Bar & Grill • $

“Rec 225- Cocoa, FL- 3.75 Stars "I lurched away from the table after a few hours feeling like Elvis in Vegas - fat, drugged, and completely out of it." ― Anthony Bourdain Getting back into the swing of things post--Covid has been great for the Big Boy and I hope for you as well. Thank you for all the comments, supportive and not so supportive. As you can see, I take each one to heart and answer straightforward. I do not cut corners in my reviews, nor do I apologize for them. Finding myself meandering up the Space Coast, I grabbed my random eatery generator and punched in my location. A few nearby eateries popped up and I found myself near the local star, Cryderman's Barbecue. Curious as to who could hang in the same neighborhood, I ventured into Rec 225. The first impression was one of spic and span clean, like your kitchen when you know guests are coming over. Grabbing a table, our waiter Jo-Jo came over to see how we were doing. It turns out that Jo-Jo is also the owner and not only cares about the customer but obviously takes pride in his business as he was welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and just downright awesome. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Jo-Jo. I placed an order for their eponymous sandwich, the 225, along with one Mac & Cheese grilled cheese and a side order of Bacon and Bleu fries. As for a drink, I went with the vaunted Jarritos Orange (how can you go wrong with this liquid concoction of pure delight?). Waiting eagerly for the foodstuffs to arrive I continued to glance about the place and found the interior charming. Before too long, Jo-Jo came back with my order, placed it upon my table and offering a sincere, "Enjoy your meal," Jo-Jo went off to address other patrons. Looking at the pictures you can see that everything certainly did look scrumptious! Grabbing the self-named sandwich, The Big Boy went to work. Comprised of bacon, Gouda, french fries, and tomato pesto on garlic Texas toast it was a delicious mouthful of exquisite flavor. The combination of the bacon and Gouda was enough to send one's taste buds into a dance of joy, add to that the fresh tomato pesto and the perfectly golden fries and you are entering the taste bud danger zone! Seriously, I thought mine were going to sashay right out of my mouth they were so pleased with the flavors found in this masterpiece of a sandwich. It almost felt like a crime when I set it down and turned my attention to the Mac & Cheese grilled sandwich, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. This was far from the simple grilled cheese we all ate as a kid. This incorporated classic mac&cheese with Gouda served on Texas toast. Grilled in butter to a perfect golden hue, it was thoroughly enjoyable on the palate. What I can say about the fries? They were cooked just right and smothered in bleu cheese and bacon. How could you go wrong? The Big Boy says, "If your not nearby, make an excuse to be nearby and grab some incredible grub!" #iamthebigboy #bigboydiningout”

“Ossorio-Cocoa Village-4-Stars "Juuuuuuuuuuuust a bit outside." -- Harry Doyle Glancing down at my random place to stuff your gullet device, I noticed the name Ossorio Bakery & Cafe staring back at me. Looking forward to the peaceful drive up the coast, I hopped in the BBDO mobile and pointed her north. Cruising into Cocoa Village with Brenda Lee "coming on strong", I languidly turned into their parking lot and came to a complete stop. Looking this way and that, I couldn't spy a parking space in sight. Waiting patiently for a space to open up, I couldn't help but get a wee bit aggravated and think to myself what a mess this was. Pulling into a vacant spot I could only hope it was not an indication of what awaited me inside. Regardless, I reset my patience and with a silent, "Once more into the breach, dear friends", trod inside. Taking the Cafe part in their name to heart, you won't find a service professional awaiting inside to take your order, it is all self serve, including boxing any leftovers. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, just stating the facts, Ma'am. Reading the menu I picked up I was overwhelmed by the depth and diversity it offered, but as I continued to read it more closely, I noticed it was well thought out. Now, if they can execute at a high level, this could definitely be a 5 Star meal! I placed an order for a fire roasted sammich, Buddy's Beef to be exact, and a side salad that went by the moniker of Kendall's Fresh Salad. After placing the order, I went in search of an open table. Noticing that you can sit inside or outside, finding a place to ease my frame into wasn't all that difficult. I also noticed that they have an array of fresh, made by hand pastries, a wood fire brick oven for pizzas and a whole bevy of drink selections. All of the tables were patio style and reminiscent of Parc in Philadelphia (if you haven't read that review, that was a 5 Star joint). While Parc is pure, unadulterated French, Ossorio's is clearly new American. Being notified that my order was up, I brought my mind back from the City of Brotherly Love and proceeded to the counter to retrieve my items. As I sat back down with my order, I couldn't help but note how appetizing it all looked as well as smelled. Digging into Buddy's Beef sandwich, I was first taken in by the freshly made baguette. What a delicious hunk of bread this was. With a crunchy crust and a springy, moist interior, it was everything a homemade baguette should be and more. If there was any knock on the sammich at all it had to be the quality of the beef. It wasn't low grade, to say the least, but it certainly didn't taste nor chew like USDA Prime either. The Provolone was miles above the quality you find in chain sub shops and was obviously sliced on site. Turning my cutlery towards Kendall's salad next, I dug my fork in and moved it around a bit. The salad was a simple spring mix, nothing earth-shattering, but a standard play on a common salad. The greens were indeed fresh, the almonds still warm from being toasted. the apples were nice and tart as Granny Smith's are known to be and the blue cheese crumbles were the real deal. The balsamic dressing drizzled over the top of the whole shebang was nice and tart, again, nothing spectacular, but well above average. My experience was just that, my experience. I found the staff friendly, the interior pleasant, the parking a nightmare and the food just this side of receiving a 5 Star review. The execution was adequate, though the quality of beef could see just a smidgen of improvement. I rather enjoyed the self-service aspect of the place, though I do also enjoy the human interaction that comes with table service. The savings in overhead must be reflected in the price and that is something in today's world with which we all can live. The Big Boy says, "for above average grub, friendly staff and an eclectic menu and vibe, make a point to stop in at Ossorio's Bakery & Cafe.&qu”

“The only problem I have with the food is the barbeque sauce itself. It's not bad, but it's very average and a little too heavy on the vinegar. The food meanwhile is cooked very well. Smoked. Dusting of rub. Good moisture. And the feast for four can feed a family for at least a couple days.

I just wish the barbeque sauce was better. Would make the prices worth it.

Dietary restrictions: Pork, Beef, and Poultry options are all on the menu for those who abstain from specific meats, like pork.”

“I bought 4 friends for lunch on Saturday as this has been my favorite restaurant in Brevard County since the 70's. Even had my daughter's pre-wedding luncheon there. These 4 ladies had never been to the Cafe. Their meals were fabulous. The waitresses were amazing. We had a different waitress who took our coffee order. I did not get her name. “I ordered “carrot cake” cupcakes from Candy’s Cookies, Cakes & More (Canaveral Groves)this week for my husband’s birthday, and we picked them up today. They were made fresh this morning, and oh my goodness, if you’re having any doubts about placing an order, please, make the order. Her carrot cake was the best I’ve ever tasted. Every bit of it was made from scratch - the cake was moist and delicious and the frosting was fantastic. I’ve already placed another order for a German Chocolate cake and a Lemon Blueberry pound cake, and I’m anxious to taste them. With regard to Candy, the awesome baker - she’s kind, genuine, and has “customer service” running through her veins. I’ve never had a baker offer to meet me at a convenient place for product pickup, much less offer to deliver. She did both, and we agreed on a place to meet. I felt like I met a friend today. I wish her and her business all the best success.”
