They constantly have great shows and events, including those for local residents to perform with open mics and poetry reading. Also, the drink menu is carefully and thoughtfully curated. The coffee is fantastic. The cocktails are fun and delicious. The non-alcoholic options are more extensive than anywhere I’ve been in our area. I absolutely love checking out shows here. In my hometown up north, there was a local or traveling bands playing original music somewhere nearly every night of the week and I’m from a town of 100k. Oscura brings me back to those days and the vibes are immaculate.“

“I've been meaning to check this place out as I live just down the road. I wish I had come sooner! A truly great addition to this up and coming area of florida. A very active and lively atmosphere. More upscale than a lot of the establishments in the area, but not too much. You're fine in shorts and a shirt, but you're equally as comfortable dressed up a bit. Great food. Great presentation. “Lunch there was very good. There is an extensive seafood menu with other options as well. I had the cobia tacos and my friend had the cobia sandwich. The bar keeps were friendly, had a good sense of humor and the drinks were good & cheap! They've got the Touchtunes jukebox so you can play DJ at your leasure, plenty of Pool tables and Dart games all around. It's definitely a dive, but one I'd go back to for sure! “They have a food truck in the back. Our lunch plans fell through and a friend and I ended up here. We don't drink and we're happy to discover they served food. We tried the Korean BBQ steak tacos- yummy and crispy, 4 small, nice for a shared appetizer. And the chicken lettuce wraps- light, fresh and a little spicy, 3 wrap's appetizer sized. We didn't order enough food but what we ordered was very good.“

Mainly a pool tables and electronic games type bar, dimly lit. Kitchen opens about noon, had a beer on tap and ordered the Grouper Sub, which was great - would get it again. Had another beer. Cash only for Papa Ron's food menu. Bar service is Scalawags, pay separately from food - works for them and me - no problem. Will return!!BTW - The Scalawags name came to mind because of the recent Gasparilla fest in Tampa and also because there is a Scalawags Whiefish & Chips in Mackinaw City, MI that a good friend of mine created, owned and operated for 30 years - serves the BEST fresh-caught Great Lakes Whitefish anywhere! He then said the kitchen closes in 10 minutes, before seating us. We ordered right away. The food was prepared promptly and service from there was good. They allow guests to visit twice at no charge and then you have to become a member.Membership and drinks are inexpensive and as a member you can enter in all their activities with daily, weekly, and monthly drawings as well as rolling dice for free drinks. Me and my wife go and sing Karaoke every other Thursday with two KJs that keep the two microphones sanitized as well as getting your favorite song up in a rotation that runs fast and smooth and gives you a good chance of singing three or four songs in a rotation.Bartender are strict with membership rules but are also very friendly..“
