“We really enjoyed our first visit to Grove! I had the Seafood Cobb salad and my husband had the stuffed chicken and we loved them both. My husband had the smoked old fashioned and said it was one of the best he's had. We look forward to going back! Our waiter Tim was awesome!“
“We went to this restaurant for my daughters birthday. She had been there previously for her husband‘s birthday, so she wanted to go back for hers. All in all the service was excellent, very attentive. I can’t say I wasn’t happy with my food because he asked my daughter if she wanted her steak medium rare that she had and he didn’t ask me if I wanted my steak on my Noodles meet them where are we are done so when it came, it was medium rare I can’t eat me to where I feel like blood in my mouth so I asked him to go back and make it well done so they actually went back and literally bought the meat to every bite that I took take it tasted like burnt grill Choco pie crispy very unhappy with my meal very dissatisfied but other than that my daughter like to hurtful my son-in-law like this food oh my granddaughter, she did not eat her food but all in all it was OK experience just not happy with my food“
“What a great establishment! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, LOTS of options including Vegan AND Gluten Free. There's plenty of options so you can make your own designer Poke Bowl, or Sushi Burrito! Great location and easy to find. HIGHLY recommend - you won't be disappointed!“
“Wonderful experience each time we are visiting, doing such a remarkable job for a newly opened restaurant! The Staff go out of their way to please customers and are gracious to offer a welcoming dish as a treat each time you'll visit! Presentation is superb with mini LED light & Orchids flowers... Quality is fresh & good... A pleasure to have this restaurant in our neighborhood!...“
“We come in every year while visiting family in FL. We’ve always been happy however this year was exceptional! From all the food to our server Cecelia we could not have been more satisfied. Thank you for another enjoyable experience for our yearly visit!“
“Dined here for the first time today. I had the most BEAUTIFUL and fresh display of sushi. It was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is quaint while upscale. The staff, as well as the owner, were present and attentive. I will definitely be coming again to try the many artistic rolls they offer. Thank you for a wonderful evening.Kid-friendliness: Highly accommodating to children of all ages.“
“I was having a bad day. Like the worst day of my life. And all I wanted was poke. The staff could see it in my eyes and were super nice and grateful. They checked on me and were super sweet. I got up to clean up, and there was a box of pocky waiting for me on my table and a silent smile. The food is amazing but it’s because of the service that I come in every week. ❤️. Thank you for making my day suck less.“
“Good Korean food and friendly service although area is a little shady at night.I got the bibimbap on stone pot and husband got kimchi chige. Also had souju, mandu and seafood pancake. Everything was delicious! The ssam, especially the potato, were all good too. They sell kimchi which is made in house! Will def come back.“
“Gave this place a try because of a friend who kept saying it's the best sushi in the area. It's quite nice. Went in on a sunday afternoon. When we got there, noone was there, and 2 other parties rolled in 20 minutes after us. If you don't want the placed packed, pick sunday rather than saturday/friday.Ginger dressing salad and miso soup came out, and they were delicious.Got us sushi combo (12 sushi nigiri and 1 tuna roll) and medusa roll. Sushi combo let us try the fish we never tried before. Didn't like all of them, but none of them had bad smell or taste. It was just a preference thing. Medusa roll was good, eel sauce they put on top was a little overbearing, but overall, still very fresh tasting roll.Udon was ordered for the kid, not crazy good (i can make it better at home) but we went there for sushi, so I won't knock a star off becaues of mediocre udon.Server (Wynn) was very nice and attentive. Price is a little on the high side, but environment and downtown location probably justifies the higher price than average. Will probably return when i crave something special.Note : parking can be a little tricky during peak time as there are limited number of spaces. Yes you can find spots for sure, but you might have to park a few minutes away if you can't find anything close.“
“Excellent menu for Asian dishes notable the sushi/sashimi selections. The restaurant has a cool vibe to it. Servers aim to please. We enjoyed our Double Tuna Roll that is one huge roll which did not skimp on the seafood. Diners around us were also ordering it so it is a popular dish. The Chilean Seabass is good; however, the amount of miso is slight which combined with a buttery mixture loss the miso flavor a bit. One hiccup is the Salmon Cappaccio appetizer. Salmon is very fresh but the olive oil, truffle oil, and balsamic vinegar is way too much olive oil that the dish is swimming in it. Less is more for this dish but again the salmon is excellent. Overall a very good place to eat.“
“Not only was the food authentic and delicious but the staff was extremely attentive. We had Sylvia has our server, she was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. They also had a nice kids selection which I appreciate when dining with my young children . We very much enjoyed our meal and will be returning soon.“
“Another neighborhood family-owned hit. Don't hesitate to visit this awesome place. I am a customer and have no problems refunding your money if I send you there and you're not happy. That's how much we enjoyed the entire experience. KUDOS to the owners and their team.“
“I’ve had alot of sushi but this is by far the best sushi in town period! Larry and the staff are super friendly and the food is phenomenal! I wish I could give more than 5 stars Bc the food and hospitality is amazing! Definitely going back!“
“I’m super picky when it comes to my sushi! I ordered the Pacific roll to try it out. It was so delicious! I ordered two more! I Would highly recommend going here if you love sushi! We went so that my daughter could get a bubble drink. I also got one and love that as well!“
“Bushido Sushi SRQ is amazing. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. Winnie and Ivy are always so welcoming, kind and helpful. The food is incredible - literally everything we've ever tried has been fantastic (and it's probably been everything they offer by now). The Gyoza and Shumai are the best I have ever had. But, don't let the word get out - I like hidden gems all to myself!“
“The avocado roll was a simple yet satisfying vegetarian option. The fresh, creamy avocado was the star, complemented by the slightly crisp nori wrapper. While not the most exciting roll, it delivered on its promise of avocado-filled goodness. The avocado was ripe and buttery without being overly mushy. A great choice for those looking for something light and healthy. The salmon roll was a standout item. The fish was incredibly fresh and high-quality. Each piece was a delicious bite of tender, fatty salmon that practically melted in your mouth. The roll was well-constructed with a perfect rice to fish ratio. The crisp nori provided a savory contrast to the richness of the salmon. Overall, an excellent representation of a classic sushi roll. The spicy tuna roll packed plenty of flavor and had a nice kick of heat. The tuna was chopped into a spicy mixture with a blend of chili sauce and spices. While very flavorful, the tuna retained its fresh taste and texture without being overpowered by the spicy components. The roll was generously filled and the rice held everything together nicely. A great option for those who enjoy a little heat. The miso soup was a soul-warming accompaniment. The dashi broth had an excellent umami flavor from the miso paste. It struck a perfect balance between savory and slightly salty. The tender cubes of tofu and wakame seaweed added textural contrast. Simple but comforting, the miso complemented the sushi rolls nicely. It's the kind of soup that makes you feel good after eating it.Overall, Mizu Sushi delivered on freshness and quality. The sushi rolls, especially the salmon and spicy tuna, were highlights. And the miso soup provided the perfect final savory note. A solid neighborhood sushi spot.#PurnellMediaSolutions #MizuSushi #Sushi #SushiRolls #AvocadoRolls #SalmonRolls #SpicyTuna #MisoSoup“
“I’ve always said what Sarasota is missing is good late night options for more than just the weekends and this place is just that. Found it on Uber eats the other night when I was craving something better than greasy fast food. I got the spicy broth ramen and it was amazing and definitely spicy!“
“I will be back! The service was very quick and attentive which I appreciated. The food was the best Thai i’ve had in this area. I was nervous after being let down by other places but I had a great meal here!! The thai iced tea was good and I enjoyed the egg roll. The hot and sour soup is not something I’d normally order but I tried it because it came with the meal and loved it! I haven’t had hot and sour soup before so I can’t compare it to anywhere else but this has opened my eyes! The pad see ew was very tasty and well cooked! Veggies were still crunchy and noodles were nice and soft.I look forward to eating here again!“
“Good quantity of sushi for the price. Sushi is decent. The highlight is in the dessert though. Their thai tea & green tea ice cream are exceptionally cheap & good!!! We went back for the green tea ice cream. Better than hagendazs for half the “
“Best sushi I've had in a while. Service was great and catered to our pace. Started with the lobster and crab rangoons. HOLY MOLY. If that is up your alley, please order. After talking with our server, he mentioned that it is one of their employees' only jobs, and I can definitely tell it is made with love. Best rangoons I've had. As far as sushi goes... mango definitely goes on sushi! Also appreciated the presentation with the orchid on top. I enjoyed this meal so much, left feeling full and happy!!“
“I've been here many times with family and friends and every experience has been excellent. The menu has a great selection, food is served promptly and the environment is relaxing. Every waiter/waitress has been friendly, courteous, and professional. I have tried several items from the appetizers, sushi, Thai, and lunch menus, every single time I have been delighted with the food.“
“We had the hibachi grill and it was excellent. The chef was great too! As the grill was heating up he entertained us by flipping and twirling spatulas, an egg, and even tossed a piece of food so a diner could catch it in her mouth. He cooked everything to perfection on the grill in front of us. It was a fun evening and we are already talking about returning.“
“We’ve been regulars since they opened. Living in the Rosemary they’ve been our go to for great Thai and Japanese cuisine. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Prices are reasonable, especially in this small city that has suddenly morphed itself into Manhattan priced pretentiousness.“
“So so glad i gave this place another go! My first experience was not great—they emailed my notification that my order was ready and i didn’t see it until the food had been sitting for 40 min. However, now I’ve ordered and dined in multiple times since and it’s been excellent. Last time we dined in, we were seated directly next to a very noisy kid-birthday party. This struck us as very odd since it was early and there was plenty of other seating. Thankfully, the party was only there for the first 30 minutes that we were dining, so it didn’t ruin the entire experience. The food is fantastic. Fresh cut of sushi and excellent presentation. Prices are average with other sushi in the area. One of my new top faves. (If you have back/spine issues, definitely bring a seat cushion for support. The seating is very hard at many tables).“
“I'm normally a very picky eater but the food was amazing. I loved the little bowls of spiced vegetables brought out before the meal. I can't stand cucumbers and this was the only time I was able to eat and ENJOY cucumbers. Our server was fantastic, very friendly. It was a very nice restaurant. Though I didn't get any of the snacks (this time!), I loved the little snack bar. Fantastic idea!“
“The Best…aroouund (cue Karate Kid song). We recently moved south and miss this place a lot. The food here is excellent. I always get thai hot chicken pad thai, and it couldn’t be better. Got my parents addicted to this place since they live around the corner. I make it a point to order from here when I visit. Super friendly service, always accurate on the orders, always fresh and delicious. As someone that loves thai food, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT.“
“Went there for New Year's Eve. Everything was exceptional. From the time we arrived around 9, until we closed the place down after midnight. The greeting was friendly. Got a great table. Service by Brodie (sp) was exceptional. She was there when we needed something as if she had a 6th sense. The food was as good as I’ve had in a while. The mussels had the best broth I can remember. The grouper plicata was an unusual and tasty dish. The espresso martini was excellent. The band. Donnie Bostic, was professional, fun and entertaining. We love to dance and they put out a great dance beat. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.“
“Second time dining here. Really love this place and the patio is delightful. Not sure what happened because our first visit everything was perfectly timed. Last visit from the time we were seated until our entrees came was 2 hours and 15 mins. Maybe longer. It's like our party of four got forgotten. We were having such a good time with friends we didn't really notice at first but then saw other tables that had come in much later than us were being served. Odd. Hoping this is just a once off kinda thing.“
“Now I get why this place was so busy on a Tuesday night. ?We ordered both from the sushi menu and the Thai menu and both were very yummy! I especially loved the volcano roll and the shrimp summer rolls. The peanut dressing that came with them was very flavorful and delicious. Will definitely be back ??“
“Always a great experience. Amazing service and even better crab rangoons! Seriously they are the best in town, full of flavor unlike your ordinary crab Rangoon. I’ve liked everything I’ve tried, food always comes out hot and fresh. Try the baby octopus salad you won’t regret it!“
“This was my first time coming here with my family. Excellent service, atmosphere and food. For appetizers we had chicken on a stick with peanut sauce, dumplings, and salads. I was the only one who didn’t get salad. The chicken was cooked perfectly and not dried out. The peanut sauce I dipped it in was delicious. The dumplings were also delicious. Then our dinners came, I split a variety of sushi with my Dad and Uncle. My Mom got her own dinner. She ate Chicken with pasta. She enjoyed it. Last but not least for dessert I ate mango ice cream it was delicious too. I am hoping to look for many more visits.“
“I’m really not someone who typically leaves reviews, but I do use them as a gauge of recommendation when others leave them. This place is under rated; the prices are reasonable, sushi holds up in flavor but is not elaborately displayed, and the hibachi price is one of the most reasonable in all of Sarasota. The parking is always convenient which is another plus.If you want local food without the expensive price this is the place to go.“
“It was our 37th anniversaryWe stopped in to Star Thai and sushi after a romantic walk on the beach for an incredible sunset.A perfect dayWhat a chance stop.Star Thai is definitely our favorite Thai restaurant now in SarasotaThe atmosphere is totally funHappyThe food was just incredibleHuge sashimi slicesThai chili grilled salmonGf pad ThaiThen the bartender brings out his trumpet to honor our anniversaryFireworksA slice of cheese cake and a decoratedplatter. The whole staff came to congratulate us. IncredibleSo nice and totally reasonable.Dietary restrictions: My wife is dairy and gluten free. They have gluten free soy sauce. So nice“
“WoW! This restaurant is simply amazing. We often go to a Korean BBQ back home thats hard to beat but tonight I must say that I had the best meat, sushis and appetizers ever. The waiter and the owner were so nice and welcoming. I will definitively bring my parents next time. You must try this excellent restaurant.“
“They have a good food. I forget the name of the dish that I ordered but I post the picture here. It’s a rice vermicelli. I really enjoyed it. My friend got shrimp fried rice and it was good as well! The service was okay - a bit slow. Looks like only one person working there. I was confused at first why the name is sushi & pho but there is no sushi on the menu. He forget to give the sushi menu.We were sitting next by the tv so it wasn’t a good choice, the atmosphere was okay. Definitely will come back for the food. The price is reasonable.“
“We went on a Friday night during Spring Break so it was rather busy. We were seated immediately, but service took a little while. I suppose the sweet tea was green tea which I’ve had at other establishments. I usually very much enjoy it, but I was not a fan of JPan’s iteration of the beverage. The Miso soup was decent and my husband liked his Tokyo Kiss and Spicy Salmon rolls. But the real winner for the evening was the JPan Beef Teriyaki! So tender and flavorful!! One of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time!Parking: May have to walk a little ways so hopefully you have on comfortable shoes. It really will depend on the time of day/year.“
“This is a quaint little place. When we arrived, it was around 6 pm. We got there just in time. By 630-645, the place was packed. We had the steak fried rice, a very generous portion, enough for 2. Very flavorful. We also had the shrimp and vegetables tempura as an app. I would say on standard to most sushi places. Ordered sushi of RockNRoll, crazy roll, and TNT roll. All were delicious. Highly recommend. Staff was very attentive and will most likely become our new goto place.“
“First time at this establishment. First, the vodka martinis were consistently cold and generous pours. Our service was excellent. Sushi rolls were mixed, I loved my yummy roll, my wife not so much on the shrimp roll she ordered. Our dining partners were very pleased with their sashimi, huge portions of fresh fish. The dining room in the back is too dark, and the booth is too small, we spent the evening kicking our dining partners' feet.“
“This place is excellent! 4 of us shared several rolls, all different types, each one was better than the other! I would go back here again and again! It’s been one year since I posted the above, and 5 of us just dined here again and again it was excellent! We shared rolls, sashimi, tempura, we had drinks and each item was fabulous! Our server was great, friendly and prompt. We will be back again, next time I will remember to take some pics!“
“I've been here plenty of times over the years, but the last visit missed the mark compared to other times and feels very much like shrinkflation to me. Perhaps one of the most important things I consider next to taste is if the meal is satisfying, and my lunch did not fill my stomach. I got the larb kai, like a hot salad dish with ground chicken. It certainly did taste good, but I would have liked the portion to be bigger for it to be about $15 after tax. The complimentary soup and egg roll are also a smaller amount/shorter roll than ever before. I don't believe my soup bowl was filled even 1/4 of the way up the sides. Would come back again but it'll be a while. I hope the value evens out, if a little more could be served. People don't like leaving hungry.Parking: The San Marco plaza may have limited parking at peak meal hours since it's not very big. Might have to drive around to find a spot“
