“Who knew this little gem existed in that strip mall off of Bloomingdale Avenue. The Godzilla Roll was out of this world amazing. I have never had a stuffed crab, but the Happy Krab was delicious. For a fantastic family good time meal, of course, the hibachi side is where you head, but if you want melt-in-your-mouth, expertly sliced and served sashimi and sushi rolls, nothing beats their sushi bar and no one beats their head chef, Kenny. Tell him what you need and let him take care of you. The servers are all delightful and the menu fits any budget. Highly recommended. Five stars.“

“First time Visiting Kanji and won't be my last! The space is absolutely beautiful and comfortable! Everywhere I looked, I saw something new. The service was AMAZING! We were seated and greeted with these washcloths. Our server was SOOO sweet and really was helpful. One of my favorite foods are Buns and these pork buns were GREAT! The pork has such a nice flavor! Spring rolls were delicious and the side dishes were YUM! those gyozas were juicy and flavorful!!!! The ramen was pretty good as well- one of my favvvv things is udon and when I found out they had that add in, I was SHOOK!!! The only thing is, the broth wasn't my favorite! It was ok but I wish there was more depth in flavor. I've had many ramens in the past and this one is in middle ground, so it's ok, but not the best I've had. Dessert was BUSSIN!!!! Very yummy! I love that they offer those little meal bundles because I was able to get a little of everything for a great price! All in all, this is a great spot for lunch and/or dinner and I would def recommend! I'm excited to come back and try the skewers and sushi!“

“Always pleased with the service here! The staff is super friendly and the sushi is great, especially for the price. I can mostly only eat cooked sushi, and there are a lot of options for me. They can even torch the raw fish if you'd like. I usually get the lunch special which comes with 2 rolls and a miso soup or salad. For dinner, the Volcano Roll or Monster Roll is good too!“
“Did the 20 course Omakase. The room is beautiful and spa like with the soft lighting and design. Extra details include offering pads to rest your phone on top of, bag hooks under counters, guests selecting their own chopsticks, hot towels, etc. While these are great, service is a bit choppy. I asked for a glass of champagne three times. It felt service overlooked our party of four while some others got extra attentiveness. It’s natural when they ordered more beverages but I didn’t feel like anyone came over to talk to us about any recommendations either. Twice, the chef had to wait for service to mark with new silverware while food waited to be served including ice cream melting. The menu consists of the usual items with some exciting ingredients but slightly underwhelming. Knowing Michelin stars are given out in the US a little more easily than other countries, my guess is Michelin will award them 1 star. If you’ve had omakase before, you may be disappointed but it’s not bad, it’s actually pretty solid. Definitely good for Tampa.“

“I came here the other day and we ordered sushi and a poke bowl. It was the best Unagi I've ever had in my life. Huge filets of the most yummy BBQ eel sit ontop. I also got the poke bowl. For just $2 extra dollars you can add a second seafood. I got volcano mix and spicy tuna. I mixed up everything the way it came including the large amount of wasabi and ginger wondering if it would be too much. It was actually perfect!It was so good we went back the very next day and ordered the same things!Wish I had pics but I ate it so fast before I thought of it.“

“This was our first time here, per recommendation. We wanted a sushi roll that was full of flavor with a bit of heat, the diablo delivered. We were recommended, chef’s choice, the Raising Sun roll. It was subtle enough to let the buttery flavors of the the fish shine. We were generously gifted with a cucumber and fish bite, and a round stuffed crisp treat. Which by the way were so good. The round stuffed treat was a burst of flavor. We also ordered the traditional sides. We will definitely come back and try other things off the menu. Everything was delicious and satisfying.“
