“Date night with the hubs. We wanted to try something new and this place did not disappoint. We tried several dishes and everything was delicious! He had soup, the steak, and fried rice. I tried the seaweed salad and a few sushi rolls. There are a few other items I can’t wait to try. Will definitely be back!“
“Second time here, we enjoyed our first time very much. WarNing: come early or order take out. the place is cozy and small with two tables inside and 2 outside. so the boys had cheese noodles on fire and I ordered Taiwanese because meat rice. De-li-ciousssss!! customer service: the ladies are very friendly and servicial. they have a big TV in which they play nice music videos, which makes eating there very lovely.“
“Spectacular service and Awesome food. I wanna highlight Tanya, Georgie, Sally and Jada. I've been in this industry for a long time and I have to say they deliver a 5 star experience! if you wanna have a one of a kind hospitality and service you need to there!“
“5 stars! Everything deserves 5 stars. Super clean, super friendly, super fast service. Very large space.Food: so yummy!!!My faves: avocado salad, shumai (steamed shrimp dumpling), a hibachi (small portion of meat), and OMG SALMON tartar is like a salmon ceviche with mangoes. The green tea ice cream wow!Want to try next time: katsu and maybe squid salad. Also, rainbow or king Kai roll.Desserts: fried cheese cakeThe food is soooooo fresh and expertly seasoned. So yummy. High quality ingredients! You must come. The staff is also 5 stars“
“The food is great, specially the sashimi, they are alway fresh. The thai food is good too. I been here 3 times already and never been disappointed. Their lunch menu is different from weekend and week day FYI. We got potsticker, steam dumpling, 3 lunch dishes (those included miso and eggroll) and wonton soup. And try out their thaitea. For the area the prices are good.“
“Great food, great service. Crowded but little to no wait time and fast service. Enough options to either eat health or to have a cheat meal. Will come back!Dietary restrictions: Have lactose free, vegetarian and low fat, low carb options as well“
“We came here to celebrate 2 birthdays and it was just perfect. This was our first time and we were really impressed with Zai (our amazing waiter) and Andy (manager who makes amazing shots). There are no words to explain the excellent service we received from Zai. He made sure we were well taken care off and was always on top of things. The food was not too bad. As you can imagine it is an all you can eat restaurant therefore you cannot expect top of the line sushi and steak but they do offer such a wide variety that I am pretty sure you will find something extraordinary for your taste buds. The ambiance is so cute. Really like how they decorate the restaurant. It's is pretty nice looking. Overall we really enjoyed our time here and hope you will as well.“
“What an incredible dining experience! Such a delicate balance of flavors and textures, especially in a multi-course meal. The restaurant was accommodating last minute abs provided top-notch service. Finding these hidden gems definitely makes for an unforgettable experience. My favorite dish (there were so many out of 10 courses) was probably the Buri Nitsuke, a traditional Japanese dish featuring simmered yellowtail in a flavorful broth. The yellowtail absorbs the flavors from the sauce, making it tender and succulent. It was comforting and satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed the personal touch at the end of our meal when the executive chef came over to congratulate us!“
“The food here was astonishingly good! Absolutely delightful. I especially want to thank the workers here today, Jack and Gabi, for their excellent service and hospitality. they PACK the small bowl, you are definitely getting your money's worth. The ambiance here is very aloha. I will come again!!! very...VERY soon.“
“Angus: The Epitome of Exceptional Service at KobesIf you've ever had the pleasure of dining at a hibachi restaurant, you understand that the experience extends far beyond just the food. It's a performance, a culinary journey, and above all, an opportunity for exceptional service to elevate the evening. In the realm of such service, Angus reigns supreme at KobesFrom the moment we were seated at our table, Angus's humor and professionalism set the tone for what would be an unforgettable dining experience. His welcoming smile and genuine demeanor instantly put us at ease, making us feel like honored guests in his own home. What truly set Angus apart, however, was his attentiveness to every detail of our dining experience. He anticipated our needs before we even realized them ourselves, ensuring that our drinks were always replenished and our every request was met with a smile. But it was Angus's genuine passion for hospitality that left the most lasting impression. He didn't just serve food; he created memories. Angus's enthusiasm was infectious, enhancing our enjoyment of the meal tenfold. In a world where exceptional service is increasingly rare, Angus is a shining beacon of hospitality. His dedication to excellence, coupled with his warm demeanor and undeniable skill, make him a true asset to Kobes. If you're fortunate enough to dine at this establishment, do yourself a favor and request Angus as your server. Your taste buds will thank you, and your heart will be warmed by the experience of dining with a true master of his craft.“
“It's a very nice place, it's one of those places you wish was closer to home. I ordered the sweet green tea, the sushi fries, and the Coral Reef roll. All of it was great, I really wish I could try every roll over time but I'm not from the area at all.Would recommend for sushi enjoyers.“
“We had been wanting to try this. It's a cute, small homey place. Most tables were full but we didn't have to wait to be seated. Service was very nice and food was good. With the dinner boxes, you get a decent amount of food for the price. Sushi fish tasted fresh. I would definitely go “
“Went to Hula Bay while I was in town on a Business trip. I was in the mood for some oysters on the half shell and fish tacos, so this place popped up on my search. Their main building was being renovated, so the actual restaurant area is temporarily located in the bar downstairs (Duke's). No big deal. The place was packed and everyone was having a great time. The view is amazing and the food is pretty good. They oysters were huge, super fresh and my fish tacos were delicious had a ton of fish in them.....totally worth the price. The bartenders were super friendly as well as the rest of the staff. I'm going back to Tampa next month, so I will definitely go back to devour some oysters, while drinking a cold beer and enjoy the amazing view.“
“I visited Tampa for a week and had an amazing experience at Water + Flour. The food was absolutely delicious and came out in a timely manner. I ended up visiting the restaurant multiple times during my visit and was taken care of throughout the whole trip by France and her staff at the restaurant. They all made sure that the food came out just as I ordered and the customer service was amazing. France checked on myself and my party multiple times to make sure that we were doing OK and the staff was very friendly staff attentive making for a great experience.I’ll definitely be visiting again next time I’m in Florida“
“We found this gem yesterday (1/12/24) while on lunch. And we're happy we did. The crab Rangoons (pictured) were crispy n delicious, and the sushi was super fresh. Pictured are the Godzilla roll (by itself) and the rainbow roll / California roll. Not pictured is the meso soup. It was so good I was too busy eating it :)And thank you for exceptional service.“
“Old Heights feels like going to your favorite grandma’s house (the one you actually like) and having a great meal. Everything on the menu is good, the rotating specials are great, and the staff makes you feel right at home. A small and intimate dining experience.“
“I had the Po Boy Roll at Sakana's and it was amazing! I loved how diverse their menu was and my meal was great! I topped it off with Tempura Ice Cream which was also delicious! Sakana's tucked away, but it's a classy gem of a place and I highly recommend it!“
“Randomly pulled into this sushi spot and am GLAD I did! The manager, Brooke, sat me immediately & Kyle, my waiter was very attentive. Had their 2 roll lunch special w/miso soup which hit the spot. The sake was enjoyable as well. Would certainly stop by again when in the area. It was exactly what I needed.“
“I come here all the time!! The new West Shore Roll is super good! It was extra crunchy! Besides having good music, the staff was very attentive and made sure I was okay! Sorry about asking for so much ginger :) love coming here!Vegetarian options: There’s a fresh roll and really good saladsKid-friendliness: Open to all!!“
“I took my mother out on her birthday on April 2nd to this place after a friend of mine suggested it, and my word, did it truly exceed our expectations.Let's start with the atmosphere first, it felt like you were walking straight into Japan, from a nice koi pond up front to its cultural themes all the way up to the tables themselves, the people there were also extremely friendly as well greeting you with open arms, it is a great mix of American and Japanese cuisines combined. You can tell this place truly respects its Japanese roots and we were all for it. The tables also gave you the opportunity to socialize and make new friends along the way which was a nice touch as it's not everyday you get to see such a layout like this.Let's move on to the waitress and the chef for the evening. Our waitress was Hailey and our chef was Steven. They were both excellent people to be around, Hailey's enthusiastic attitude really says a lot about offering great service as she really loves her job and she always brings a smile to people's faces. As for Chef Steven, he really blew us away with his cooking skills, he had a great sense of humor as he entertained us with hilarious food centric jokes as he was cooking our meals, you can tell he had a blast with his job from start to finish, that's how great of a chef he was, he and Hailey were by far the best parts of our experience. Now we move on to the food. We ordered the Kobe Combo and the Sumo Special, and boy were they scrumptious! Chef Steven's presentations of our meals didn't disappoint at all, they were very well cooked and perfected to the core to get that mouth-watering taste, all their food options are nice, but the Kobe Combo and the Sumo Special were by far the best options they had to offer. Finally, let's talk about what they do for birthdays. They put cute little chef hats on top of you as a nice gesture, after that, it follows with the waiters, chefs and even the restaurant owners playing drums and singing in both English and Japanese to spice things up, last but not least, they serve a wonderful little cupcake, if you want to celebrate your birthday at a Japanese restaurant, this is the place to go!In conclusion, I highly recommend this place from the bottom of my heart. We most definitely look forward to returning a second time pretty soon when we get the chance.“
“I sat at the bar where Ashlee greeted me promptly and made me a spicy bloody Mary. She informed me was happy hour, and several drinks were $5 and under including my Bloody Mary! They also had a happy hour sushi on the weekends $5 rolls. This was definitely a bargain.I started my meal ordering the Arizona roll and the Florida roll. They were both fantastic. I preferred the Arizona over the Florida midway through my meal. I also ordered the Eel and spicy tuna. If I had to pick the eel is definitely my favorite.I have never found this much sushi ? for only $20 bucks! You need to come check this place out.“
“If I could give them a zero I would. My friend went there today and she was refused service because she has a skin disease called psoriasis. Shame on you all. You need to get educated the disease is not contagious I hope you and your ignorant staff learn some manners.“
“I just ordered some food here from doordash. I ordered the chicken and beef bao buns and i also tried their chicken kebab. I have to say this is verryyyyy good, i had to jp here and leave a review lol. One of the best Bao buns in the area for sure!! I hope they come out with more bao bun recipes, even if they’re just seasonal. 100% recommend ☺️ “
“First of all I like to say this establishment is just the best, this being a regular place me and my family frequent. The food is just amazing from the simple edamame to the signature rolls, it all meets the flavors anyone could be searching for.“
“A nice little sushi place that’s hidden in the depths of Downtown Tampa. This place isn’t in the best condition being under a parking garage, as the floors were dirty. However, there were some redeeming points about the decor; like the mural on the wall. The service was very friendly and was quick with our food. The food here is great! I enjoyed my Crab Rangoon here. The chicken curry had a great flavor to it, as well as the rice. My sushi tasted alright, but it wasn’t excellent as the curry. Overall, would come here if you’re willing to get some Japanese food in Downtown Tampa.“
“What an awesome place to have a family dinner. We decided to celebrate my birthday here. The food was very fresh and great tasting. Services was fast and on point. It was a big group but nobody had anything but great things to say about the place.“
“It's fast food and mainly takeout with a small sitting area to eat in.The food is good and fresh. The sushi chef made the sushi burrito in front of me. I'm getting that the next time I go there!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Hibachi“
“This is my second time eating here, the poke bowls are amazing! The only thing I suggested to the staff, was that the miso was a little watered down. They were open for hearing what I had to say. The staff was amazing , one of the best experiences I ever had with a food establishment. Thanks for stellar customer service and I will go back !“
“Probably the best ramen shop in Tampa. Heads-up there's no shichimi powder in the store. The home-made chili sauce is a must-try. Perfect spot for a Saturday or Sunday hangover-busting brunch. Nice place for a dinner date without denting your wallet.“
“The food overall was mostly good to very good including the Tom Ka, chicken fried rice, Penang curry, chicken cashew, eggplant, and green papaya salad. The crunchy roll and the sexy man roll were also good.On the other hand, the tuna roll which we unfortunately ordered two servings was made with bad fish and we had to throw it out due to the rancid fish. Also, the portions of some of the dishes were laughingly small. 16oz of Tom ka container was only filled about 3/4. Some other dishes only filled 1/3 of the way.If I lived in the area I would have possibly tried to eat at the restaurant as the portions may be better there.“
“I've been coming here for about a year and get a poke bowl from here at least a couple times a month. I've been to other poke bowl places in the area and it just doesn't compare to this place. This place is authentic, fresh, and so yummy!! Recently I've switched from rice to greens (gluten and grain free), and the poke bowls are still just as good. I've never had a problem with customer service either. On top of that, they're so quick!! The three times I've been to a different poke shop in Tampa the service was so slow. I felt like their employees were new and not knowledgeable about their work area. Not this place, same quick and nice service each and every time! Also, compared to other places, this place gives plenty of the filling and toppings, like the bowl actually gets filled which I really appreciate.“
“Really nice classic salad bar. Chicken salad was on the sweeter side. Would love to see a spinach or arugula salad mix, and a healthier ranch dressing if possible (maybe thinned out greek yogurt base with the hidden valley spice mix?). Overall pleasant first time experience though“
“I had their margarita special.. Pretty good.. the grilled snapper with ?️, very good, not too fried, and vegetables were on point.I had to top it off with the Sticky Mango Rice... which hit the spot and a shame that I enjoyed all by myself!“
“Exceptional sushi, paired with impeccable service, defined my experience at this establishment. Although there was a slight oversight in the delivery of my appetizer, the staff promptly rectified the situation, ensuring I felt thoroughly accommodated. Their dedication to customer satisfaction elevated the dining experience, leaving a lasting impression of excellence.“
“We had another amazing omakase dinner at toki. Chef Chris always serves us with an amazing selection of sushi and is definitively my favorite sushi joint in Tampa.Notes for those interested:*~$75/person for omakase and reservations/call ahead is recommended*Thursday-Saturday are the suggested nights for omakase as Chefs receives seafood shipment in from Japan1. Tuna Appetizer2. Yellowtail w/ kelp3. Seared tuna w/tataki4. Octopus w/ miso5. Toro roll6. Scallop w/ lemon7. Seared salmon belly8. Sea Bream w/ yuzu zest9. Ameobi (eat the crispy ? head)10. Sea Eel“
“This is a favorite spot of ours, and we drive an hour to get here. Our favorite things to order are the dynamite scallops, kamikaze roll, King Kong roll, & the steamed buns (Katsu & shrimp are the best). Of course, everyone’s palette is different, but those are my recommendations. The ambience is great for date night. We have been able to get in without reservations by showing up right at 5 when they open, but I strongly recommend making a reservation just to be safe.“
“Well! Loved the FLORIDA ROLL! That is what I am looking for ‘salmon, avocado, tuna, and cream cheese’. Needed cucumber as well :) I also ordered rainbow sushi but it was not delicious, rice was hot and I think it was changing the taste of sushi. Oh! I also do not recommend the Miso soup. There was a small cube tofu in it, just one. And taste was weird, maybe because of the water of the soup, I don’t know. As overall, it was good. I went there at 9.30 pm. The foods’ taste can be fresher in early times“
“I had the Hibachi and my kids had the sushi with a side of Hibachi fried rice! It was great. The cook was fun and engaging. The waitress was very attentive to every little detail and ask. My mom was thoroughly impressed, which is hard to do. ?“
“Whether it’s the sushi or a bento box or donburi bowl it’s all really good and I enjoy eating there before or between classes. Van is a really cool dude and is very accommodating, definitely one of the nicest and chillest dudes I’ve ever met. Overall pretty good I’d recommend it for sure.“
“Title: Sushi Avenue: A 12-Year Culinary Love AffairFor 12 years, Sushi Avenue has been my sushi sanctuary. With its fresh fare, impeccable service, and wallet-friendly prices, this spot in Tampa never disappoints. Whether you're a sushi veteran or a newcomer, it's a must-visit destination.“
“I got the scallops entree with veggies and brown rice. It was made very well and had tons of flavor. The entree came with a “salad” that consisted of hard, yellow chunks of iceberg lettuce hearts. You shouldn’t disrespect your customers, like that. You could’ve left that part out because it screams cheap and mediocre. Elevate or just don’t serve it with your opinion of a salad. Thanks.“
“Wow what a great experience here! I get the craving for poke almost every day and have been to some of the best spots in Arizona as there everywhere, not very many here. This is the best tasting poke bowl I have ever had and the customer service was fantastic from Joe and Dennis. Decent service is very rare these days but theses guys went over and beyond with a big and friendly smile. Thanks to the owners for keeping Quality people!“
“Traveling through Tampa. We liked everything overall. The waitress/hostess Lacey was absolutely wonderful! Crab ragoon wasn't crispy as we expected, but decent. Saturday special on sushi! Buy 1 get 1 half off. Fried rice- shrimp & veggie were delish. Minus the shrimp. Both rice & sushi shrimp was over cooked & rubbery. Honestly still enjoyed meals, would come back if we were traveling Tampa again. Lacey is 5 stars!“
“The Best Sushi-grill locations I have ever been to. Words cannot describe how fresh the food is. So delicious. You have a choice from a variety of different cooked or premium sushi rolls and amazing Hibachi meals. Everything on the menu is worthy. The service is magnificent. Very fast n friendly. We plan on returning again and again!“
“This place is great Lincoln and Damian helped me out and made my bowl with care and attention to detail the atmosphere is great and good vibes all around the food was great and it was the best poke I’ve had, if your in the area check this place “
“Went here for dinner with my wife after a hard work day. We have struggled to find a great sushi place. We had passed this place several times but this was our first time stepping inside. The atmosphere here is relaxed and casual and when we enter we were met by the host who immediately sat us at a booth where we were immediately greeted by our server Gabriella. We made our order and waited. The wait was reasonable and not a problem since the saki was flowing and very tasty. When the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the portion size, freshness, and overall flavor. I have had sushi all over the world and when I say this place was amazing I can't express just how much we enjoyed it. My sashimi platter came with a Ginger salad and a Miso soup. The wife got a few rolls and we both were very pleased with our meal. I requested the manager stop our table so I could tell him how happy we were with the meal. I also had to stop by the sushi preparation counter and thank the men that had created our dinner. We certainly will be back next time we are in the mood for amazing Sushi and Sashimi.“
“I came here on a Sunday evening at 8pm with a group of 5. We tried the king salmon crudo, wagyu gyoza, beef ishiyaki hot rock, chutoro truffle roll, sashimi platters, uni, yakimeshi - fried rice and a whole Peking duck. All things wagyu and fatty fish anything were amazing!! Just melts in your mouth. What a treat this dinner was true fine dining sushi experience but hard to get full without spending a lot of money! Pictures aren't the best because of the ambience and lighting but it was great experience with great service!“
“First of all the best sushi I've ever had in my life. It literally melt in my mouth. I've also had a lot of sushi so that's saying something! But sushi wasn't the only great thing about this place. The bao buns and boc choy were absolutely excellent. Saki was amazing, and my wife had some very delicious tea. But above all else our waitress was astronomically great. Will come back even if its just to eat here!“
“It was pretty crazy. It surpassed what I expected...The fried shrimp tempora roll was really good and fancy looking... The fried burritos were really good. I had the Kickin Chicken fried with Cheetos. My friend had the Fry Me In The River. He said "it was basically just a sushi burrito bro that Shht was good" lol.The apps we got spicy couliflower and pork wantons they were good but considering everything else kind of light really. But if you want to spend some more money and get something they are good. Just not really necessary. The service was was fine. Order on the kiosk or online. They work slow making this food. You can watch them. They do a really good, clean and neat job though. There is small bar type seating all along the wall to wait or eat if you want. Friday night expect to wait 30 minutes... Wasn't a bad wait though. This place is definitely worth a try. I'll be back.Parking: In the strip mall plaza.“
“We are not from the area and took a chance. Isekai did not disappoint! Food was so good. Fast and friendly service too. We especially loved the poke bowl, spicy tuna roll, and the Luffy on a flank. And our favorite show One Piece was playing on the TV! Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
