“Been coming here for years. Usually sit at the bar, tended most nights by Kelly. She’s always smiling, knows her drinks & will take good care of you. Mondays from 5:30 to 8:30 you’ll hear the whiskey-voiced singer-pianist Joe Thayer, who plays jazz standards, soft & classic rock, and a few pop tunes. Food’s excellent…lots of choices & a few daily specials—which sometimes go fast. Can get busy during the season…best to reserve in advance. Great place for holidays if you don’t want to cook!“

“We are from outta state and came to Florida for vacation, we decided to try this place for our 1st wedding anniversary. Let me just say it was exquisite. Alice was the best waitress my husband and I have ever had and guided us through the menu and was able to explain every thing in detail and give us an idea of the things we have never had. Everything we tried we loved. She was on top of everything and so attentive to us and all the tables around us. She 10/10 made this experience more than worth it!“

“Outstanding outstanding OUTSTANDING!!!!! We got the mushroom and chicken kebab, the first hummus on the list, and toasted feta. Oh. My. GOD! Not only could my insanely careful gluten-free husband fully fully enjoy himself, but they also had really nice gluten-free pitas, which is really cool because usually a restaurant would slap us with crackers or something, but he got his own pita.
The attention to detail, the smoky flavors of the purees that companied the mushroom kebab, the sweet pomegranate molasses on the toasted feta, the subtle kisses of mint, and the uniqueness of the hummus were all incredible. To top it all off, the ambience and decor are super, super chic and Mediterranean. Don’t think about it - COME! The sauce on the chicken kebab and BOTH purees for the mushroom kebab need to be together somehow. Hubby and I ordered both so I was able to combine them. The server was so friendly and helpful. Props to the chef and the owners because WOAH.
There were quite a few clearly labeled gluten free options to choose from. Please don’t miss out on this gem. In total, and with two sodas, it came out to $78 after getting 2 starters and two kebabs. Pricey? Yeah. Worth it? HeII yeah. Full tummies worth celebrating? HEŁL. YEAH.“

“We were greeted immediately upon arrival by Brittney. She was very informative about the menu and brought our food right out. We got our dessert to go. “Most amazing German food that I’ve ever had. Servers were very friendly & knowledgeable about the dishes that the chef creates. Add in authentic German beer and this place is a must visit. Definitely worth the drive if you are anywhere nearby. I could eat here every meal as there are many options and everything tastes wonderful. Sehr gutt und wundebar!“

“Lived here for 12 years and just discovered this place. Definitely the BEST Italian restaurant around. Everything tasted like my mother and noni had prepared it. Caesar salad was the real thing. Gnocchi truly melted in my mouth. Sauce was exceptional.“

“Wow - Ortygia has moved forward to a fun and interactive cooking classes, specialty parties, wine dinners and more . Without the restaurant anymore there is so much happening - for low this page and make a reservation- you won’t be sorry. I have been 3 times for series 1,2,and 3 cooking classes - enjoying wonderful filling vegetarian dinners that everyone will love - and you take the recipes home. Wine flows freely, delicious food and great conversation abounds and then you eat - enjoying the Italian scents and savoring the goodness of fresh ingredients. A definite go to on my list and looking forward to making many delicious meals.“

“My wife and I visited Oyster River Rooftop for Valentine’s Day, and overall we had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant is located at the Marriott Hotel & Spa in Palmetto, which really impressed me. The hotel itself is beautiful — easily one of the nicest properties in the area. I also appreciated the added touch of checking in with staff before heading upstairs, since a badge is required to access the upper floors. It definitely gives the space a more exclusive feel.
The restaurant is small and modern — more of an upscale rooftop bar atmosphere that also serves dinner. We were seated outside and enjoyed a wonderful view of the river, which made for a great Valentine’s setting. There was a duet playing live music, which added energy to the evening, though in a smaller space with minimal sound-absorbing decor it felt a little loud at times.
The hostess was very nice and welcoming. I had to smile when she gave “Monsieur” her best shot — I work for a French-based company and speak a little French myself, so I notice those things — but I appreciated the effort to create an upscale ambiance.
Our server was congenial and accommodating. He happily made me a Sangria even though it wasn’t on the drink menu, which I appreciated. His personality leaned more casual than what the restaurant seems to be aiming for, but his friendliness was genuine and well-intentioned.
For food, we started with the Grilled Octopus. It was very tender, though I would have loved a bit more bold flavor. The main courses, however, were outstanding. I had the 16 oz Ribeye with Za’atar butter — cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, which was equally excellent. We skipped dessert as nothing quite jumped out at us, but we left very satisfied with the meal.
All in all, it was a lovely evening with excellent food and a beautiful setting. With a little refinement in front-of-house polish to match the quality coming out of the kitchen, this place could truly hit the high notes. We would absolutely return — especially for the ribeye and the view.“
