“This was our first time here. We are not from the area. We were so impressed with the plates. My husband is not a healthy eater but loved his Martin sandwich. It is the first pic I posted. He loved everything about it! He said the onion wrap was strong and really grew on him. He loved the jalapeño addition!
I had the taco salad… it was so it’s better than I ever imagined! I will definitely drive the 2+ hours it takes to get back to Sarasota to eat at this restaurant again and also purchase some of the sauces they use and bring them home! I guess they are involved in a farmers market nearby on Saturdays, where they sell a lot of their products which I am also excited to go to.

“I was in the area on a work trip and one of my co-workers recommended me visiting Siesta Village while here. After watching the sunset and very quick search of best places to eat near me, I decided to stop at The Cottage. Best decision I made. First the host didn't treat me any differently when I said I was dining alone. She was friendly and took me to a nice spot so I could listen to the live music. Then Cecelia....she was an absolute gem. Incredibly friendly and did NOT steer me wrong when I was stuck between ordering the Lobster Maki Sushi or the Seared Scallops. Based on her recommendation, I went with the Lobster Maki Sushi and it was the best decision. The flavors and mix of lobster with the shaved teriyaki tenderloin with just the right amount of char smoke was perfect...I cleaned my plate. But before that, I started with a bowl of the lobster bisque. I have eaten a lot of lobster bisque...it's one of my favorite soups. BUT the lobster bisque at The Cottage was one of the BEST I've ever had....certainly my absolute favorite! And on top of the amazing Cecelia and sweet host, I was checked in on by a wonderful woman who asked how I was, what I ordered, how I enjoyed everything...just made me feel so welcomed and at home...which helps a lot when you're stuck eating out alone. I didn't even know she was the GM until the very end when she introduced herself to me and we shared how I have a bracelet to follow a sea turtle and she has one to follow an elephant. If you haven't tried The Cottage yet, go now! I wish I was here longer so that I can go back again before leaving, but I'll make sure to be back next time I'm in town. In the meantime, I'll dream about that lobster bisque (and my delicious Mango Mule with Tito's).“

We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and the host treated us to prosecco while we waited for our table. Not only did this place deliver, I have come back time and time again since receiving the same incredible service and atmosphere Ryan and his team brings. The rotating flavors are a wonderful dream of variety. If anyone is ever looking for a place for that sweet tooth, or a beautiful way to end your Downtown venture, achieve Great Heights. “These guys are simply amazing!! And their cakes (and cupcakes) are so incredibly delicious!!! When ever I need something specially made, they do a perfect job every single time. I am not able to have gluten or dairy and you would never know that their cakes are GF and vegan (they make regular cakes as well but for obvious reasons, I have not had those lol!). “Most amazing German food that I’ve ever had. Servers were very friendly & knowledgeable about the dishes that the chef creates. Add in authentic German beer and this place is a must visit.
