The oysters were beautiful and incredibly flavorful, and the scallop crudo was delicious—light, fresh, and tasty enough to sip like a soup thanks to the sauce. I wrapped up with the cheesecake, which was sweet and satisfying—not traditional Vietnamese, but still a great finish. “I had heard about this hot restaurant from New York that I must try, but was reticent to do so because Carbone was the name of a character from Goodfellas that Robert Deniro's Jimmy Conway whacked when tying up loose ends after the Lufthansa job! Poor sap was hanging frozen in a meat locker. I'm glad I put that imagery aside because this place was amazing! Platitudes like wonderful ambience, fine service, flavorful food, great family style dining, are all applicable but just don't capture the full spirit of the evening. From the pickled cauliflower, to the signature spicy rigatoni ala vodka (which pairs nicely with their pinot noir offering Presqu'ile), to the Caesar salad (you must have those croutons!), and their delicious Italian petit-fours, everything burst with flavor and was resplendent of the authenticity of old Venice. And since you will be spending more than a few pennies here, one must luxuriate in the mid century environs replete with Murano glass chandeliers while being serenaded with a sound track of Italian crooners like Mel Torme and Frank Sinatra in the full bela canta tradition. If you have a special occasion, Carbones Miami Beach will make for a memorable evening.“

Service was also very good, I think our waiters name was Frankie, very helpful in making our selections as well as attentive.“

“My server was Loidel and when I say he gave us top tier service. My spicy margarita was too spicy he got it corrected right away. He took care of us with a smile on his face. All the staff are amazing from the moment I walked in to the end of dinner I had a smile on my face. 10/10 recommended!!“

“Food was amazing! Appetizers were excellent, Duck dim sum and the Nigiri's amazing. Anything that had the A5 Wagyu on it was delicious and the lobster with the glaze finish was amazing. Only sour point was closing my tab. My server did not mention that a 20% tip was already charged and then said that the additional tip portion was for his service. I found that to be a bit deceptive. I paid an additional 20% because he kind of backed me into a corner. But for that i would warn others. If you already place a 20% tip on your bill then why have the server come up with some cockamamy line to extort you at the end of a wonderful meal. Why place such a fine place's reputation on sketchy closeout? Miami is out of control with this tip thing. Think about it, i paid almost 40% on my bill.....that will leave anyone with a sour taste. Baffled.....“

This restaurant also has plenty of gluten free options and the label them on the menu. The parking is super easy at night. We are always able to find street parking.

1) Mofongo (yucca + really tender octopus; highly recommend)
2) plantain tostadas w/ pork (good flavors but I think it could be improved w/ more sauce since it was a bit on the drier side)
3) custom side of kale (with evoo I think, for those of us who want a side of healthy greens ^__^)
4) flan (BEST I ever had in my life!!!)
5) tre leches (not bad, but felt it was dominated by the ratio of whip cream taste wise, despite being visually appealing)
6) passionfruit capirinha (bartender was absolutely lovely & nailed it! Even kindly adjusted/upped the sweetness as I like it)
To be honest, I was having a bit of a rough evening/day - but food here definitely warmed my soul and the staff + bartender are super kind in sharing their recs. Would highly recommend Caña for a low-key but soul-warming Cuban food!“
