“Ate here for the first time today and I have to say that this place was pretty great!!! I ordered the eggplant 🍆 in garlic sauce, fried chicken wings and fried tofu. The eggplant wasn’t what I expected but was still very tasty and the wings and fried tofu were fantastic!! The owners were very very nice and they knew right off the bat I was a new customer so they gave me a $5 gift certificate for my next order. I would definitely eat here again and I recommend you give it a try if you’re in the area. This place is takeout only so call ahead with your order if you know what you want. The chili oil in the pictures do not come with the food. That is something I added myself when I got home.

UPDATE: I came back a couple days later and ate here again. I did order the same things but asked for a different sauce on the eggplant and they had no problem doing so. Again I have to reiterate that the owners here are incredibly nice!!! Not only did they give me a $5 off gift certificate last time but they gave me another one for my next visit and also gave me 2 free spring rolls.“

“Best Chinese food I have had since moving from New York. Everything was fresh and big portions good flavors. Just didn't like the taste of the egg roll. But the lomein and orange chicken and pork fried rice and krab goonies were perfect.“

“We have visited here in the past when it was Nigori Sushi. Great place then also. This has switched to Chinese food. No sushi is offered now. The food is very good! We ordered crab rangoon, chicken with cashews. Staff was very polite and our order came quickly. We ordered a glass of Chardonnay $10 but gracious pour. It's was a little warm inside but maybe air was out. It was very hot today. Great experience, will try again!“

“This is our go-to Chinese takeout place in Clearwater. It reminds me of one of the corner joints I used to frequent when I was a kid in New York City. It’s much better than a lot of of the other local takeout places - they use fresh vegetables and make more from scratch. The prices are very reasonable, given the times. We have a gluten-free person in our household, and the Singapore rice noodles are hit. And there’s plenty of shrimp in the noodles.“

Our latest order was devoured so fast there’s no pictures. It was my first time getting the egg foo young and it won’t be my last. It was chocked full of veggies. The tofu is always on point and the broccoli with garlic sauce has just the right spice. The homemade hot mustard is kicky and delicious. My husband usually likes the sweet and sour chicken because it’s a good portion and he likes the sweet sauce. This time we tried, doughnuts, spring rolls, sesame tofu, veggie egg foo young, broccoli with garlic sauce and chicken lo mein! We’re soy lucky to have them near!“

Well I had issues tonight with my driver, nothing the restaurant did, DoorDash drivers just weren’t so kind or accommodating. “I ordered the General Tso lunch special with an eggroll. Eggroll was very good. The General Tso's sauce was tasty, mildly spicy and overall very good, but there could have been a little more sauce. Also no broccoli. I thought it normal you get at least a few pieces of broccoli in your Gen Tso. As a whole I enjoyed the food, and would order here again.“

“After reading mixed reviews I finally gave this place a shot. I am so pleased I did. I ordered to go over the phone. Mr. Frank was sweet and we spoke at length when I arrived. It was my first time and so I got 3 lunch specials. The pineapple shrimp was my favorite. I also got the orange chicken which was excellent and the shrimp lo mein. I asked for the special chili oil on the side and was warned of how hot it was. I did not heed the warning and was shocked later thinking I knew better. Warning the chili sauce is hotter than usual. The lunch specials come with either white/ or fried rice, and a choice of wonton soup (amazing), egg drop soup, or an egg roll. It was a hot day and I thought I would get 1 wonton soup based on other reviews and 2 egg rolls. The wonton soup is delicious and I kicked myself for not getting all 3 with it. All the food was good large shrimp in the pineapple shrimp and smaller ones in the lo mein. Fried rice is basic but I usually scramble a few eggs and add frozen peas/ carrots to all basic takeout fried rice, along with a few packs of soy sauce. I was very pleased so don't let the negative reviews detour you from trying this place. Lunch specials are available from Mon-Sat 11-3 which is nice if you are craving it on the weekend. I can not attest to the delivery since I picked it up myself but I would not hesitate to have them deliver it next time. Prices are reasonable but have gone up a tad based on older menus, but haven't they gone up everywhere?“

“Was debating between this and Sarku Japan, but the lady handing out free samples swung me to China 88 and I’m glad she did! The chicken is delicious and very meaty. I was concerned the general Tso would be too bready, but it had plenty of meat unlike a certain panda themed Asian chain that sells fried bread with sauce and calls it orange ‘chicken’. The Mongolian chicken (the forked one in the pic lol) was very savory and the sauce had really good flavor. The spicy bourbon had a nice kick to it, but I would’ve liked it more if it was a little spicier. I got the 3 meat plate combo with sautéed veggies as well as 2 sugar biscuits for $18, which I think is a solid deal for what I got. Generous portions and the lady was really nice. I highly recommend checking them out.“

“It’s more of a carry out restaurant, but does have a small dining area. Very good customer service, orders are prepared quickly and they have great lunch specials. I’m a weekly customer and everything I’ve had so far has been delicious.
