“Broken Strings has the best in the city. The staff is friendly & disease-free & the brew is always top of the giraffe. I brought my aging grandmother to the breakbeat show back in July, she had such a frolic in her orthotics that when she returned home to Lee County, she sold her condo & moved to downtown Orlando just to live closer to the boom-boom & of course the beer. Now a-days, she's there just about every night & she brings her famous home-made bacon to share with everyone, plus she's taken up breakdancing, & beer-pong. She kills it on the windmill & defys all beliefs with her head-spin game. It's tuff business having the coolest grandma, especially when all my friends want a piece of her action, but someday if I persist, & with a little help from Broken Strings my retirement dreams of beer, bacon, beats & breakdancing can be possible. “This is the place to go. Great mix of beer options with some unique combinations. Stellar options for sour beer lovers, but really there is something for everybody. Bartenders are the best part, Gabby and Garrett. Helpful and upbeat. Great atmosphere to spend a few hours or in my case, the whole day :)“

“had some time to kill before picking someone up at the airport so I stopped in here. beautifully decorated inside. Good selection of beer and other drinks. The young woman behind the bar was very nice and very attentive. I had the strawberry blonde and the milk stout. Even though I'm not usually a darker beer kind of person, the milk stout was my favorite of the two. It was slightly sweet and had a hint of chocolate taste to it. The strawberry blonde was really good too. Great place to sit and relax that's close to the airport.“

“The Hopping Pot is a great stop when you’re not quite ready for a full meal but want to grab a drink and relax. It’s the perfect place to take a break while still soaking in the atmosphere.
The hot Butterbeer is our favorite—absolutely delicious and a must-have, especially on cooler days. We always make a point to stop here.“

“This is another favorite relaxing location for me. I normally have 2 to 4 beers and a pretzel or food from a nearby food stand and get some people watching in and check up on my phone notifications.

The bar also plays clips from popular Simpsons episodes. Sometimes I use this area to wait for the nest showing of the horror make up show, though you should leave a little early to hit up the restrooms at ET before heading into the show..“

“We visited Tavern on Church around 11:30 a.m., right when they opened, before heading to the Garth Brooks concert at the Kia Center. It wasn’t very crowded when we arrived, and we were seated quickly.

Our waitress, Dafni, was wonderful! She was friendly, helpful, and very informative. She took our order promptly and explained one of the biggest benefits of dining here before an event, the restaurant has direct access into the Kia Center. Even better, you can take your food and drinks with you! This meant we didn’t have to wait in the long lines outside to get into the arena. We simply walked through the restaurant and right into the Kia Center. How convenient!!

We ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with French fries, and my husband had a margarita. Our food came out quickly, and everything was very good. My one recommendation would be to upgrade the sandwich buns. They’re more like a standard hamburger bun, similar to what you might get at a fast-food restaurant. A brioche bun or something a little more upscale would really improve the sandwich.

Overall, we had a great experience and an enjoyable lunch before the concert. Dafni was fantastic, the food was good, and the direct access to the Kia Center was wonderful.

If you’re attending an event at the Kia Center, I definitely recommend eating at Tavern on Church beforehand. It’s a convenient way to have a great meal, skip the long entrance lines, and even take your food and drink with you.
