“I have been frequenting the Colonial Corner for decades for the occasional "Authentic" and DEE-Licious Philly Cheese-Steak Sammy. My only regret is forgetting how good they really are and not stopping in for one for an extended period... Their loaded Philly Cheesesteak is served steaming hot right off the griddle and chocked full of chopped Ribeye, peppers, onions and cheese on a hoagie roll. My favorite addition is the Hot Peppers! Don't forget to add an order of Fries, one order is large enough for two peeps. The diner hasn't changed hardly a bit in my 35 years of visiting and still has a quaint and welcoming feel when dining in! After ordering you can grab your own drink and bag of chips if you like, paying before you leave. Service is fast & friendly, food is hot and delicious and - and very reasonably priced. IMO - one of Southern Pinellas County's best Philadelphia Cheesesteak sandwiches, there are others that may rival but theirs has been consistently delicious for my 35 years of occasional visiting! A small diner located at 72nd Ave & 49th streets NE corner with ample parking and outdoor restrooms, - I love my visits always saying just after finishing, "I just don't get here often enough!".“
“When I say what I’m going to say understand that it’s a compliment. We had a late night visit the other night. The interior was spotless and the service quite good. The food arrived rather quickly. I had one of the custards and it was so thick the straw couldn’t handle it. I had to resort to using a spoon. I went simple with just a vanilla one and it was delicious. The only way I can describe it is to say high end greasy spoon. Absolutely loved it.We’ll be back.“
“Update 3 (Nov 2023): The chicken tenders they serve are still some of the best you can buy in the area. All of the sauces are great, but ranch is still my favorite. They have more people working each shift and no one seems super stressed anymore. The 5 tender combo meal is 12.49 now, which includes waffle fries and a drink. If you eat your food there during the day, bring sunglasses. There are no shades on the windows and the sun is blinding in almost all of the seats available.-----------Update 2 (Feb 2022): They are dealing with shortages for fries, but when they have them, their waffle fries beat everyone else's offerings. Only one member of long-term staff remains. Prices are even higher and tots don't seem to be a side choice anymore.-----------Update 1 (July 2019): They have added tots as a side item, without an upcharge. They also notified me they have the ingredients for totchos all the time, even though they're not on the menu.Sauce choices for the chicken are now: sweet sriracha, chipotle bbq, ranch, buffalo bleu, honey mustard, creamy garlic, and honey bbq. This isn't new, but the most unique feature at PDQ is that, unlike other fast food in the area, they have an actual person take your order when you drive up, instead of yelling into a speaker. This personal touch makes their drive thru the best in the area.Staff is now better at taking care of customers in a timely manner, but I still can't get my chicken strips extra crispy, even though I order them that way; they are always happy to correct this though. They always get the tatertots right. Finally, several menu items have been removed, like the BBQ ranch and Hawaiian chicken sandwiches. The only reason I knocked one star is because I think the prices are little too high for this area, with 3 tenders and fries at 7.49.-----------Oct 2018: The saucesome promotion has ended, so the best deal they offer now is the kid's meal with 2 chicken tenders or 5 nuggets, fries or other side, and a small drink for $4.49. This is enough for a small meal. If you're the kind of person who skips fries and sides, you might be better off ordering just tenders, but they don't sell them in small quantities without a side item.A wide selection of carbonated drinks are available from the fancy Coke machines. Glass bottles of Cheerwine are on ice near the register. They also offer unsweetened, sweetened, and green teas.“
“Thought I would update my review after eating here a few more times. The last few times I’ve been here, the food and service has been great. The drive thru is open again, the food is always great and fresh. Recently tried the spaghetti and love it, it’s sweet and not like traditional spaghetti but has a great taste to it. The fried chicken is great, but I've been wanting to try the spicy version but it’s been out for months. All the sides are great and dessert as well. All the employees are friendly and very helpful too. Jollibee is one of my favorite places to eat at now. 2/14/2024Service was great, the employee that took my was friendly and very helpful, I think his name was Allen/Allan. The fried chicken was okay tho, wasn’t too fresh seemed like it’s been sitting out for a bit. My sides were good tho, the gravy was great as well. Heard nothing but good things about the chicken, so I was kind of disappointed. Maybe I’ll give it another shot at some point.“
“As ever, the food is very good for a fast food establishment, but their prices are out of line for what really is self-service, you order, and pick up at the counter, fill your own soda and dispose of the trash when finished.I'm not saying $32 plus tip for cooking your food is a lot of money, but I don't think Engine # 9 would cost a lot more, and there you full table service.Just my opinion, but there you have it.“
“Update 2.7.24: the Manager Nicole called and made sure my order was made right. She even gave advice on how to order the meatball sub sandwiches from now on. Thank you so much for making my dinner and changing my experience :)Very dry subs. Chicken meatballs tasted old. Forgot my sweet and spicy sauce on my meatball sub. I now see why this establishment is empty. Subs have a werid taste, bread is hard, and definitely could have gone to McDonald's and gotten better food. I will not be returning.“
“Food was incredible and the service was very fast! Never have I ever had Hibachi takeout this good. I had the veggie dinner entree, and my friend had the grilled shrimp dinner entree. It was a great way to end out long work day.Vegetarian options: Vegetable hibachi is vegetarian“
