The food was delicious. All of us were very satisfied with our meals. They give you a lot of food and we all had leftovers to take home. This is a hidden Sarasota gem. “I came this way to visit another restaurant when I noticed this place and said let me give it a try,now I have not been to a lot of Japanese restaurants so I really have nothing to compare it to,when I first walked in I was greeted by a very nice women,I chose to sit at a table instead of the bar,the tables are all sections with a light wall on either side,beautiful lighting and pretty soft Japanese music playing,the menu is put together like an expensive leather bound book,I ordered the miso and the fried oysters,miso was some of the best I have had with much seaweed and tofu,and perfect temperature,the oysters were very plump panko crusted,cooked to perfection,oysters were very moist while the outside was nice and crispy,I was told they were imported from Japan,later I had a spicy yellowfin sushimi roll that was Soo good,all the food was very well presented with a bed of colorful veggies and pretty plates,the waitress was very nice she told me the place had been there about 8 years,they are word of mouth with no advertising,do your self a favor and give them a go,and you can thank me later“

I definitely always like to support a new place. But the staff really seemed somewhat uninterested. I understand the difficulty in finding good help so I didn’t think much of it. But when I ordered food and 2 boba teas and I got my food and 15 mins later got my teas. Food was decent and I hope they turn it around. I will give it another shot in a couple months so they can get more dialed in.“

“Ichiban is hands down one of my favorite spots! While they’re known for their sushi, I always go for the tempura and teriyaki chicken—both are absolutely delicious. The tempura is perfectly crispy, and the teriyaki chicken is tender with just the right amount of flavor. It’s always a satisfying meal, and the service is top-notch every time.
