“Yum, Yum, Yum! I was invited to lunch at Papa Diesel's Restaurant on my visit to Apopka, FL. From the moment I entered the restaurant, the entire experience was a treat. A friendly family atmosphere greeted me at the door, with the added touch of care that was immaculately given to every detail. The aroma from the kitchen activated my taste buds, as I stared mesmerized by the extensive menu. Finally, I decided to go for the “Diesel Sampler”. The brisket was so succulent that it melted in my mouth. The ribs fell from the bone with such flavor that no sauce was necessary—the pulled pork I used to sample the homemade sauces. As I was told, the sauces will soon be available in the local supermarkets (as I can attest to becoming a family staple). Needless to say, the sausage, chicken, and sides all met with the same flavorful standards. Ending my meal with a dessert, I enjoyed the peach cobbler and shared a nibble of key lime cake with my date. It was an enjoyable afternoon, sharing special time with loved ones in a loving environment, dining on food prepared by Papa Diesel, who loves to cook for folks, and making them feel at home!“

“I loved visiting this Greek themed coffee shop. They are known for their coffee flights. We also got a Caprese flatbread, hot coffee, and Asiago bagel for breakfast. Everything was pricey but nice to know we are supporting a small family business. The decorations and thought put into arranging the space was noticeable. I thought it was worth the drive from Winter Park to check out.“

“My family stopped in today before we caught a flight home today. My aunt and uncle live in Mount Dora and visit there often. My mom and I were visiting from Saint louis Missouri and was our first time there. I really wanted to give a shout out to your waiter that was working this morning around noon!! He was a superstar running around like crazy today. He was taking orders, seating customers, and cashing out customers. There was only one cook and one busser/dishwasher. Apparently 2 people had called in sick and he was so busy he couldn’t even call for someone to come in to help him. The crew this morning definitely deserves a raise. “I know this is a chain, and that there is an expectation of standard service. However, that was not the case at this location. We stopped in on our way back to Seminole County, from the flea market, just looking for a decent meal, with no fuss.

Well, what we got instead was phenomenal service, despite being obviously short-staffed. And the food? Absolutely perfect.

This was easily the best run Longhorn I've been to, in a very long time. Great people, who genuinely care about the good they serve. We will definitely be returning, next time we're out that way.“
