Restaurantji's Wilton Manors recommendations for the finest Mexican cuisine.
“I have never had the pleasure of going to this eclectic spot that includes not only La Mexicana but The Alchemist! La Mexicana a great place for food and cocktails. It has rainbow trees .?My only negative, temporarily? the speaker for the performer was too loud, but the team turned it down. This made the remaining visit enjoyable. Take a visit.?“
“Great time at brunch with my friend who came down from Tampa. Our server, Mark, was the highlight of our meal. He was super sweet and kept checking on us throughout the entire meal without being overbearing. Definitely get the table side guacamole. The medium isn’t spicy though - this is coming from someone who doesn’t like spicy at all. It had no spice in my opinion but it was flavorful. The Birria tacos were soooo good & the liter of margaritas is never a bad idea when available. Whatever you don’t finish drinking, you can take home with you in a sealed bottle. Never a bad meal at Rocco’s and I’ll be back on my next visit to FTL!“
“ALL ABOUT THE FOOD. I recommend this authentic Mexican Restaurant. Excellent, fresh everything. Definitely not your typical fare although they have enough to make you feel at home. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The owners are lovely. A simple place, nothing fancy. Go for the quality of the food and the warmth of the owners. Definitely try the Spicy Margarita.“
“My whole reason for going to the YG farmers market is El Nopalito. Hands down incredible food and such a hospitable and hard working family. The love they put in their food is insane. I dream about this food all the time!!! You cannot go wrong with anything you order. I wish I had pics but I just can’t ever wait to eat it.“
“Amazing Latin/Mexican food! We started w the guac which is fresh made at the table. Then we had some entrees and a couple drinks. The jalapeño margarita and blackberry mojito were delicious. Every single entry was fantastic as we couldn’t decide which one was best. We had the: churasco, carne asada, pollo chuco and seafood tower. Would recommend them all. Our server Juan was fantastic and can’t say enough about how great he was.“
“Went back to try an old favorite from many years ago and was happy we did! Food was great and the Tuna dip was just like I remembered. Grey our server/bartender was awesome and made the best Margaritas too! Love how they opened up the bar area too so you can be outside or inside now enjoying the openess. We will be back!“
“Steven was the most amazing. His recommendations were perfect. I ordered the mahi grilled tacos and a pineapple coconut cocktail. Both were the best I’ve ever had and next time I’m in Ft. Lauderdale I will be back! Couldn’t be more pleased with the Steven’s hospitality, recommendations and the chefs in the kitchen! Great place , don’t miss out be sure to make this a place you try.“
“I found spot randomly driving around and it seemed like a cool place so I came in by myself. An extremely polite gentleman invited me to the bar and took my order. The service was fast and professional. I ordered 3 street tacos and I got beef, pork and chicken. I was blown away at how delicious this food was. Easily the best tacos I've ever had. I also really enjoyed the Quvo Named craft beer. I was surprised to learn that the gentleman and woman serving me were the owners! I'll definitely be returning.“
“This place is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is very nice. The decor inside and outside was bright and energetic. They had swing seats that were adorable and fun. I had the birria tacos as well as the chips and Pico de Gallo. The chips were made in house and tasted phenomenal; so crisp. The birria tacos were soooo good. They were packed full of flavor and paired well with the sauces. I highly recommend going here. The only downside is that they do not accept cash; it is card and online payments only.“
“Went twice for the week we stayed down here! Food was incredible, waitress was super inviting and polite and went out of her way for us!Recommend a million times over!!!!Birria tacos and drinks are the best!!Kid-friendliness: Offered a coloring page and different fruity drinks“
“Was looking forward to the Ceviche I had on our first night on vacation. I came back to have the Ceviche again a few days later since I loved it so much and the Ceviche was completely different. All shrimp…. Did not even taste like Ceviche. Was sooo disappointed. I wish they would have told us before we ordered or I would have gotten something else instead. Let your customers know if the menu changes. I walked through high winds and rain to come back to this restaurant before flying back home.“
“Dont be fooled by the little restaurant that simply says "Mexican Food" on the front. Its extremely good! My family and I talked about it all the way home (near weston) and we will definitely be back very soon! Its so fresh, tasty, and generous in portions! we went on a Thursday night after picking my wife up from work. Four of us went and We all received free churros for dessert! Alejandro (Alex) was our waiter and he was so very kind. He made our experience memorable and fun! Try the crispy burrito!! OMG, it was insane! also, ask for their spicy sauce, its so authentic, everything is!“
“My husband and I have been here multiple times and have had a great experience EVERY TIME. The owner is lovely, the staff is magnificent and the food is phenomenal. Everything is fresh and delicious.Margaritas to die for. Guacamole, salsa, pico de gallo and chip are a must have. Steak tacos yum, burritos the best. Churros are hand down the BEST I’ve EVER had in my life!!!Thank you Lokos Takos, we will be back soon! ?“
“Trendy Mexican restaurant with different menus for the bar or the table. Either menu you choose you won't go wrong. The tortas are very filling and tasty and the main dishes fresh and with the expected Mexican flavors. Very nice addition to our local cuisine! They also have live Mariachis at times!“
“Excellent food, lovely atmosphere on the main drag at Lauderdale by the Sea.We had walked thru here the night before, scoping out places for today. This place caught our eye, and we were NOT disappointed. We ordered drinks, the ultimate nachos, and 2 tacos each. There was a little SNAFU where they realized that the tacos my wife ordered might not be safe for her shellfish allergy, but the manager himself came over to make sure we knew the safest options. The ultimate nachos were the best nachos I've ever had in my entire life. Not even close. From the chips to the guacamole to the cheese to the refried beans, absolutely outstanding!I ordered the Baja fish and local fish tacos. Both had a really nice mix of flavors paired with the juicy and well seasoned fish. I liked the Baja fish tacos the best.My wife had the carne asada tacos, which she described as tender and delicious. The waiter, Jose, was friendly and very helpful. The manager Angelo was personable, and helped us figure out the allergy thing and get our replacement food promptlyI'm a little shocked we were able to finish off the nachos, they were pretty big! But I couldn't get myself to leave any behind. Our only regret is getting too full to indulge in margaritas!“
“Just recently dined here. Food was Delicious! Can not go wrong with some tacos or some pupusas!! Cooked to perfection. Fresh straight out the oven. Service was amazing. Appreciate Sandy’s hard work! Highly recommend to visit! Would come back again.“
“Always great food and easy going friendly service. The pupusas and other Salvadorian dishes are always delish, my favorite being the cheese and bean pupusa and the chicken taquitos.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian section has options of main dishes with cheese and veggies instead of the meat protein.“
“Please open at 11am instead of 12pm. There are always people sitting at the tables waiting for it to open at 12. I’m a local and eat here weekly. The mahi tacos are the best I’ve had in Florida and the street corn is just so good. I definitely recommend adding the red pineapple habanero sauce to the tacos. My family loves this place. We choose this place over every other restaurant in the area. They never have frozen margaritas - they don’t offer it anymore even though it’s on the menu and that’s a disappointment. Please bring back the frozen margarita. And maybe think about hiring a couple more people it always looks a bit short staffed.“
“Picked up some absolutely amazing tacos from here. There were 3 before I inhaled one. As you can see they come fully stacked. As a vegan, it was really nice to have an option and they were super authentic. As a hot sauce lover, please please try their hot sauce. And as a taco lover, chefs kiss A plus all around. The guy who took my order was super friendly and hilarious and I met the owner/cook and she was his mom. Very authentic and family owned!!!!Vegetarian options: Veggie tacos!“
“Whenever I go to a place for the first time, I pay attention to the customer service and I think this was what I loved most about the place, excellent service, we tried the esquites and the cholao, I feel that theskites lack a A little bit, I tried them for the first time in Mexico and I loved them, but this does not mean that they were not delicious, in general everything was delicious and with a very pleasant atmosphere, the only observation I have to make is that they should appear on the menu the prices, the places where I have attended the menu has the price list.“
“A true South Florida staple!!. Unreal flavor and quality. I will keep coming to bohemian Latin grill for as long as I live in Florida!Vegetarian options: Any substitutions can be accommodated forDietary restrictions: YesKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Authentic Mexican foodAsk for Caldo de Camarón on SundaysAmazing Sopes, Barbacoa and carnitas tacos. If you are into Mexican, Esmeralda it’s a must.Wheelchair accessibility: The place it’s accessible for the wheelchair and the tables are low.“
“The food taste so goood!!I ordered the tostadas and tacos Birrias. Very delicious and will definitely come back. They opened just a month ago. The service was good, very pleasant lady took care of us.Parking: Plenty of parking spotsKid-friendliness: Kids are welcome, very calm atmosphere.“
“We've been going to Prison Pals every so often during the past year & have always enjoyed the food & drinks. My personal favorite are the smoothie beers, which are so yummy & different from anything else I've ever had! We loved the food too, especially the empanadas so I was so disappointed to find out that they no longer make them. Hopefully they bring them back because they were amazing, especially with some cilantro aioli!“
“This place is my new favorite. The whole ambiance inside is absolutely stunning. The staff was super friendly especially the bartender & Shawna. The chips & guac and shrimp fajitas are absolutely delicious. The Barbacoa flatbread is incredible. Can’t wait to come back.“
“Today I had the experience of eating at this place and I really loved it!!!!!! The tacos, the margaritas are delicious, the manager Mike served us and was super attentive! Really, it was highly recommended, a good place for pie with your partner or family… the food, the drinks and the place 20 out of 10!!!“
“The food was good but I didn't like that the plate was hot, possibly they used a microwave to heat the food, my plate was a combo that among other things included a tostada and a hard taco but they put them on top of a sauce with melted cheese and that It made the toast watery and lost the crunch. The fajitas were tasty but the meat was ground and not strips of meat. The quality service.“
“Replaces another Mexican local with better price points, generous portions, good presentation, better margaritas—a little stronger yet remaining balanced, and attended constantly with abundant staff, and provided unlimited complimentary chips and salsa. Objectively, the chips could be crispier/fresher/warmer. Overall, all in our party of seven were very satisfied. 4.25 out of 5 stars.“
“Came on a Tuesday night, placed a order and took up to 40 minutes. There a good amount of cars pulling up grabbing online orders, which is a good sign. I had 2 orders of the steak, 2 orders of the fish, and 2 orders of the pastor. The tacos were great, not the best I've had but great for what this area offers. It came with the verde sauce and salsa Rojo along with radish and cucumbers sliced. (One of them tasted off/old) Other things to note the parking lot you can enter only one way going east on Sheridan, there's only one portapotty, and there's alot of stray cats (they come up to you for food). Over all this spot is my kind of vibe for street food and plan on returning!“
“Tacocrat is a great place to enjoy tacos and other tex-mex foods in Plantation. They have bright and modern decor with indoor and outdoor seating. I have tried many of their menu items including the mushroom tacos, impossible nachos, and tres leches french toast, all of which were a 5/5. The atmosphere is lively and casual. The restaurant is clean and the staff is very friendly and attentive. This is a good place to come for dinner or for brunch on Sundays.“
“HIDDEN GEM ! LISTEN ! (The lady told me they have 40% off either tacos or your whole bill on thursdays either way that’s a great deal… I wish I knew about this place sooner. I’m from Chicago and I’m half Mexican and grew up eating this stuff I’ve been to so many places down here in south Florida and this place has to be in my top 2 ! Best best best aqua de tamarindo, aqua de horchata ! BEST elote, tasted like when I was back home in Chicago and we’d go to the elote man. Elote doesn’t taste the same from everyone or every place if you know you know and that goes for the food and drinks as well. My husband got the seafood rice and the flavor was crazy ! Big portion too he can eat and he took some of it home. I got the birria plate and my gosh the whole plate was beyond my expectations, the beans tasted like how my mom used to make them that’s when I knew they were serious lol. We’ll be back like this week ! Lbvs I need to try other stuff on the menu. Because this place clearly isn’t in the business of disappointing OH and the ladies there and so nice and welcoming and food came out before we knew it all around a 1000 out of 1000 !“
“My friends and I just had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! Our waiter, Marlon, was extremely kind and gave great suggestions to us since we are from out of town. The quesadillas are fire and rlly hit the spot today. Will definitely be back!!“
“We stumbled across the Taco Joint while walking down The Broadwalk. Everything was delicious! My sister and I shared and devoured the bean nachos and banana daiquiri, my husband loved his quesadilla pizza, and my brother in law enjoyed his fajitas. The service was excellent. Unfortunately, when the bill came and was paid (via a portable payment device), we didn't notice the 20% gratuity automatically added, and we tipped another 20% on top of it. A $30 tip on a $70 meal was not what we had anticipated. But that's what we get for being in a hurry. As other reviewers have stated, definitely look at your receipt. Otherwise, it was a great place.“
“How delicious to eat in an authentic Mexican place, the delicious Tamarindo not so sweet, the authentic homemade rice and the beans, nothing to say, the super fresh toast and the sauces, nothing to say. Super recommended. Diana's service is mega extraordinary, attentive, she offers first-class service ?Parking: Very central“
“We visited the Cielito Lindo Tres restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, which surprised us with its delicious Mexican food, with the perfect spicy seasoning. Very well decorated, typically Mexican atmosphere. Super service and cordiality from the restaurant staff. Beyond recommended.“
“This place has great food and vibes! Our waiter Brock was AMAZING, it was our first time there and was a bit overwhelmed with all of the food options so he stepped in and made great recommendations!I'm not the biggest fan of frozen margaritas but the Passion fruit one was reallyyyyy good, even my bf wanted more lol.We loved the food and service so much that we came back a week later. Although Brock wasn't there Brian (the manager) recognized us and made us feel welcomed. Fun spot for the whole family + they have happy hour“
“Delectable beyond belief. I am very glad I found this establishment because it hasn't been easy to locate a place that genuinely makes delicious tacos. I sampled the al pastor, lengua, and cabesa tacos. The tastes are amazing. I'm eager for the next opportunity to try something else. Definitely try the food here!“
“Waitres was amazing, polite, and professional. She came back numerous times to check on us to make sure we needed anything extra.Parking: Parking is friendly free ?Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendliness, is accessible to children, menu for kids is available.Wheelchair accessibility: All tables are wheelchair ♿ accessible for disabled patrons.“
“OMG..Best tacos and Mexican food in the area. Sometimes they have live performances out front and the ambience is always nice. I however prefer my tacos from the inside. You can call in your order and then pick them up.UPDATE: 2023I still get my tacos from the Mexican Supermarket. They offer a delightful eating experience that's both flavorful and tasty. My personal favorites are the Taco Al Pastor and the Taco de Lengua (beef tongue), both of which never disappoint. The Al Pastor is a burst of savory and slightly spicy goodness, while the Lengua taco is a tender and unique treat for the adventurous palate. One thing to note is that you may have to exercise some patience while waiting for your food to be prepared. However, I can assure you that the wait is absolutely worth it. The freshness and authenticity of the ingredients is in every bite, making the extra time a small price to pay for such delicious fare. Moreover, the customer service at the Mexican Supermarket is commendable. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making your dining experience all the more enjoyable. They take pride in serving up these delectable dishes. If you're a fan of Mexican cuisine and appreciate bold, authentic flavors, the Mexican Supermarket is a must-visit. Don't miss the Al Pastor and Lengua tacos, and be prepared for a short wait that's well worth the mouthwatering rewards. Your taste buds will thank you for it!“
“The Sunday Brunch is a great choice with friends or family. Yesterday we came for an early dinner for a change and we absolutely loved the food, the pomegranate Margarita and our waiter was amazing. The Seafood Chipotle Extravaganza is the ultimate foodie experience. I dare you to order it….“
“I'm in town for a week for training hosted by the city across the street from this location. The outside did not look appealing, but the inside was different. The dining area offers take-out or seating for 60 people (my guesstimate). Everything was clean, including the bathrooms. They have a small market with key items for purchase. Now my opinion on the food, it was Amazing! It is some of the most authentic Mexican I've had outside of Mexico. The quality and taste of everything I've had on three separate visits so far has been eye-rolling good (Keith Lee reference)! I stopped in for breakfast at 7 a.m. and it was packed with locals grabbing lunch and breakfast for the day. All of the staff have been very friendly and helpful. I will stop in a couple of more times before I leave the area this week.“
“First time at this place; the restaurant was clean, the food was outstanding, and the waiter (Brandon) was very attentive. Then again, there were only two or three other tables seated. Awkward ambiance for the first five+/- minutes because there was no music playing and the TVs were off. Finally, the music came on and the dining experience improved ten-fold. Meanwhile, the TVs were never turned on. Not a big deal, in fact... might even be cool to have a place with no TVs, where people are forced to interact with one another. But I digress, if you choose to have televisions in your establishment, keep them on; there's a lot you can do with them, not just have it on TV programming. Anyways, this place is absolutely fantastic and has the potential to be one of the area's best restaurants. I'll definitely be back!“
“The food was be tasty. We ordered an al pastor burrito and chicken mole. The food was not only tasty, but it wasn't salty and everything tasted fresh. The salsa had a bit of a kick, but was flavorful (no complaints there). But the service makes this establishment especially outstanding. All the staff was very polite and attentive. That's very refreshing! When we visit Florida again, we will frequent this establishment again too.“
“My wife & I had their vegetable fajitas, and they were great. As soon as we were seated, we were served chips and 3 kinds of salsa. I was particularly impressed with the hottest variety. We are from out of state and are jealous that locals have such a great mexican/Spanish restaurant.“
“They re-did the inside and I love it!!!! A warm and welcoming atmosphere and great food. They are great with my husbands pork and shellfish allergy.Dietary restrictions: They are SO good about my husbands allergies and ensuring he does not get ill.“
“Amazing experience as always! I catered my wife’s birthday and food was amazing, delivered and set up. Top notch! The staff team at Zona Fresca were great and helped me order, food was delicious and portions generous. I would highly recommend!“
“My wife and I call it "Zona Fresca Friday" every week. Been going since it opened The food is fresh, big portions and they have a ceviche special. Great salsa bar. The staff is so friendly as well. Our "go to" for Mexican.“
“Wow! This place deserves 5 stars for sure. From the minute we walk in the door, we were greeted so kindly by the hostess. We were seated immediately. Almost all the tables were filled. That’s was a good sign that we were at a good place. Scott was our server and he was fantastic! The food was authentic and delicious. Prices were great for the portion size. I would definitely be back and recommend to anyone wanting authentic Mexican food!Parking: There was a good amount of parking.Kid-friendliness: The menu had kid friendly items for children that don’t really like to try new things!“
“Found this place while randomly in Davie, and being a taco lover had to try. DELICIOUS! Friendly staff, the tacos were cooked fresh to order and were so good I didn’t get a picture before they entered my belly. We will definitely be back next time we are in this neck of the woods. Tried the chicken, pork and steak tacos and each was amazing, the steak being my favorite.“
“Was in Wilton Manors four nights and I ate here three of them! I'm gluten free so you can never go wrong with tacos. My favorites were def the chicken, chorizo, and the grouper, hold the onions. Bartender was a cool cat providing relaxed but attentive service. I didn't try the ceviche because I was solo but it looked amazing and very shareable, next time. My mezcal margaritas hit the spot I truly wish there was a Tulios in my hometown.“
