Based on ratings, I was really expecting that southern home cooked meal. What I got was 2 minutes between ordering and the waitress bringing my plate. No way it's cooked to order. Very dry cornbread and possibly canned vegetables. It's all decent food, but for me, it's not worth going out for. The fried chicken and hushpuppies had good flavor. Friendly staff that did a good job.
I had lunch at White Columns Restaurant for the first time after living in Ellijay for 8 years. How have I NOT been here before now?! The Vegetable Soup, made in-house everyday, is hearty & delicious. It's also a plus you can choose with or without ground beef. $4.50 gets a bowl & choice of bread. Good cornbread!! The meat and vegetable offerings have something for everyone but there many options available from the menu. I love that the desserts can be chosen as a vegetable preference....read full review
