What is most important is that his dishes are designed just for us. Enjoy your restaurant food as a takeaway without the hassle of waiting for a table without the additional cost at Five Points and Plaza on Broad Street. The Mac and cheese are divine! It is a must-have on your plate. If you are going to have two side items, you better include the Collier Greens with the Mac and Cheese. Those tender, mouth-watering, perfectly seasoned green with the aroma that is reminiscent of holidays and Sunday dinner being cooked in the kitchen. I told the owner and Chief Bryant “Chef Baul” Williams that his Mac and Cheese and Greens made me want to go home and question my grandmother's Mac and cheese and Greens. He looked into my eyes and said, "No... Franco don't do that. " He knew that was grounds for Grandma to disown me with one backhand slap. I can't put in words how good the crispy batter of the fish that falls apart on your plate once your folks cut into it. I couldn't tell the difference between this fish and any fish from some of the best seafood restaurants in Savannah, GA that I have had. Whatever you get is going to be an excellent buy. The food is a reflection of Chelf Baul global and culinary experience that should have a location on Chicago's "Magnificent Mile" and Los Angeles Rodeo Drive. All too often, many people come to Atlanta and stand on the shoulders of Atlanta's spirit to support businesses when the individuals are not from Atlanta nor identify with their customers. Whatever you do, don't miss out on the wonderful experience food experience. There are so many options on the menu. It's located next to a convenient store, just these two businesses so parking is at the door very convenient. Man! So many choices of meat, and vegetables. You get to fix your own plate. I had the fried chicken, rice with HOMEMADE brown gravy with onions, cabbage and mac and cheese.

“Had the most incredible experience at Red Rice Restaurant here in Atlanta. The food was amazing, but what made it unforgettable was meeting the owner — a fellow New Yorker with the most beautiful spirit. We instantly bonded over our shared roots, entrepreneurship, growth, and wanting more for ourselves.

She shared a bit of her journey with us — how COVID led her into the world of cooking, and how it became her passion. Watching her move through the restaurant laughing with customers, joking with her kids, and genuinely loving what she does was truly inspiring. The whole space feels like love, family, and purpose.

As a pescatarian, I was SO happy with the options — I enjoyed the salmon, fried shrimp, baked mac & cheese, garlic string beans, and of course their signature red rice (comes with every meal and is so good). And that’s just a small piece of the menu!

“Barrio ATL is an entire VIBEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I ended up here on a Thursday. I was in the Cascade area and in the mood for tacos. After a search on Yelp Barrio ATL popped up and was where we headed for the night. As a heads up, Barrio ATL sits in the corner of the strip plaza. As such, the parking can be a bit tight so be sure to choose a space accordingly. Upon walking in, the ambiance puts you in the mindset of a trendy hookah lounge. Wall seating, chairs, and tables are to the left, and a VIP area style is to the right. The DJ is directly to the left of the VIP area and the bar area is to the left of the DJ. The building is medium-sized and build rectangular so there is ample length as compared to the width. There was no one at the Hostess booth when I walked in, however, the young lady got up from one of the tables in the back, greeted me, and quickly took us to our table. Once seated, the waitress assigned to our table came over and was super nice and welcoming. She introduced herself as Shay and went over the specials for the night. As the ambiance is more than just a casual bar, Shay’s service was superior. Her personality shined and she enhanced the overall experience of the night. Thank you, Shay! Based on the specials for the night I decided to go with the 3 Chicken Birriia Tacos for $9 (this was a great deal as they are usually $20) and a side of fries. As they didn’t have Sweet Tea on the menu I ordered a bottle of water. Shout out to Barrio ATL for serving Fiji. Ha. Babeeeeeeeeee… Here me when I tell you… I don’t know what kind of potatoes these fries were made with but they were the BOMBBBBBBBB. They were thick, perfectly fried, golden to perfection, and well seasoned. For the record, I would go back for the fries alone. LoL! The birria tacos were good as well. As this was my first time having them I don’t have anything to compare them to, however, I enjoyed the experience. The crunchiness of the taco shell with the well-seasoned chicken. The birria consomé was well seasoned and definitely enhanced the flavor of the taco, as such, for my first birria experience I enjoyed it. Furthermore, if the chicken was this good, I can’t wait to try the beef. Overall Barrio ATL is def one to add to the checklist when you are looking for a vibe. A friend and some of his friends had visited this business one two occasions and kept talking about how good the food was. I visited this business on 8/6/25 because I was hungry for some vegetables and didn’t want to cook. I purchased two meals…one was a vegetable plate and one plate had vegetables and pork neck bones. The soul food was the best experience I’ve had in some time. The cabbage, macaroni and cheese and lima beans were great. They weren’t salty nor did they have sugar in them. ALL THEY HAD WAS FLAVOR. The broth on the neck bones was not dark and they weren’t salty but were FULL of flavor. The cornbread was NOT sweet and was delicious. And to add to everything else, the portions were great. The food wasn’t good because I was hungry…it was good because they can cook and know how to season the food for flavor. You won’t be disappointed.“

“I tried this place for lunch and I am glad I made the trip. Their service was friendly and answered my questions about possible options to get. I went with the jerk ribs rice & peas cabbage and a side of plantains. The only thing that was left were the bones. Sure enough some of that sauce was on my shirt. If you pick up the ribs with your hands just be ready to catch them with your plate. They fall off the bone type of ribs. There was some bbq sauce but blended well with the season. The cabbage was seasoned and tasted freshly cooked. Let's talk about the plantains. Perfectly cut and cooked. I can't even get that can of plantain quality in a Spanish restaurant. Best I have had. They do have a lunch special and plenty of side options. My only regret is not trying their juice. Next time I am trying the jerk chicken and stew.“

I’ve never ordered a lasagna that was that tiny so yea consider offering at least two slices and surround those slices with marinara to make an appropriate serving size. “Annie Laura’s Kitchen – A Beloved Staple with Room to Grow

For over 15 years, Annie Laura’s Kitchen has been a consistent go-to for me, and with good reason—the food is, more often than not, exceptional and absolutely finger-licking good. Their Southern comfort dishes carry a depth of flavor that keeps me coming back time and again.

Out of well over a hundred visits, I can recall only three occasions where the food fell short: twice, the turkey wings arrived undercooked, with meat still visibly red and inedible; once, the macaroni and cheese carried the unmistakable tang of spoiled milk. Those rare missteps, however, have never been enough to deter me from returning. In my book, 3 off-days out of 100 is a pretty remarkable track record.

The staff, particularly the young men and women taking orders outside, deserve special mention. Whether in the blazing summer heat or under a drizzle of rain, their attitudes remain warm, professional, and welcoming—a standard of service that deserves recognition.

Another point in Annie Laura’s favor is its pricing. Whether you’re dining solo or feeding a family of six, the portions are generous, and the value is undeniable.

That said, my overall rating of 4 stars reflects one lingering issue: the atmosphere. Both the exterior and interior are in dire need of an upgrade to match the quality of the food. The interior has long been closed for dine-in service, and reopening it could not only enhance the dining experience but also help alleviate the notoriously long drive-thru wait times—especially on Sundays.
