“Jason and I just had probably one of the best restaurant experiences and food I’ve ever had! We started with goats cheese appetizer, followed by a delicious Caesars salad. I ordered a center cut filet with scallops as my main course. Jason had the New York strip. We shared broccoli and fingerling potatoes as sides. The most amazing part was the bone marrow butter and foie gras butter complementing the steaks. To top it all off we brought home candied pecan bread pudding with Jim Beam sauce. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was so quaint. I truly had an amazing experience!“

“I’ve never been to a Stoney river, however my boyfriend brought my for my birthday last night and it was 10/10. The food was amazing! Queen was our server and she was so sweet. We had a lot of may birthdays at the table and gave us a champagne toast to celebrate. I work in the service industry and it was so nice to go out and be treated so well. Extra special because my parent got engaged at Stoney river years and years ago at this location. Definitely coming back!“

She came by my table multiple times and I noticed her doing the same throughout the restaurant—checking on guests, running food, greeting people, recommending menu items, and making sure everyone’s expectations were exceeded. The steak was absolutely amazing—cooked perfectly—and the entire restaurant, including the restrooms, was spotless. The staff really know the menu inside and out. Room service was quick and the food came out hot, and the bed was super comfortable. The barista downstairs also did a great job on my caramel iced coffee. There were a couple of small things that could be improved: the TV had a few noticeable spots on the screen, and the shower door is only a half-door, which means you have to actually step into the tub to turn the water on. I would definitely come back. The vibe, comfort, and service all made the stay worth it.“

It's a solid restaurant and bar, and I've known quite a few bartenders and servers there during the last five or so years. What really keeps it on my list, though, is Leigha behind the bar. Leigha makes a great Old Fashioned, but it's more than just the drinks. Leigha has a way of making the bar feel comfortable and familiar, like catching up with a neighbor rather than just ordering another round. The conversation is always easy, never forced, and it's one of the main reasons my friends and I choose Salt when we're deciding where to go downtown. We usually check to see if she's working before making plans. That says a lot. Downtown Woodstock has plenty of good spots, but Leigha is a big reason Salt continues to stand out for us.“
