Everything was GREAT!! Food was a little salty. For the price and quality of food, I would DEFINITELY recommend this place. My husband got the special, which was a stingray sandwich. IT WAS AWESOME!! The coleslaw was vinegar based, so tart, but we loved it! I created my own plate, and knowing now I would have made different decisions, it was still good. Son had fish and chips and was pleased! Salt Island was recommended by a friend as we had been disappointed by other Tybee eateries. The food and service did not disappoint. Friendly efficient hostess and waitress. My husband and I had amazing fish including grouper with garlic cream sauce and fried flounder. The cheese grits with hot sauce was delicious!On a side note, we returned to our condo after dinner and I was shocked to discover my diamond had fallen out of my wedding ring that I've worn for 26 years. A great find! I picked the place because of previous reviews and I'm glad I did. Had both the peel and eat shrimp (super fresh) and the crab Poutine (interesting but still damn good). A good selection of craft beer and wines....good enough anyone can find something good!The service was very good and attentive. The atmosphere is excellent....it's got a ...'calm', feeling about it. Soft colours, beachside vibe....but very clean. If I was here longer, I would go again.
