“Quite possibly the best tasting steak I have had in a very long time… and I frequent steak houses back home in AZ. This was delicious and fast service. Presentation of food looks just like the display case. Food was just under $30 but it was enough food for my husband and I to share.“

“Tried its popular Da Original Steak Roll plate that came with 2 scoops of rice and some leafy greens. The roll was made from thinly sliced steak and shredded potato. Combining with its sweet sour soy sauce, this made a delicious lunch. The meat was tender and flavorful, unfortunately there weren’t too much meat in this plate lunch that costed $20.“

“Great cozy Japanese izakaya at McCully Street Shopping Centre. The food menu was good and had a variety.

Drinks menu were good too. Overall, service was friendly and the servers would help make recommendations for food and drinks. Worth a visit if one has hunger pangs at night as it closes at 1am.“

Owner is nice and she fixes good food.
Not really much of an ambiance.
Small dining area, with limited tables. However, there was room on the day that I went.
Good choice for Thai food.
Close to both Waikiki and Ala Moana area.“

We’ve seen the show many times so this was actually a nice change to just enjoy a nice meal. Joe and Eddie were great! Loved Eduard, the manager. Had a nice conversation about the old days when this was located at Kings Village. Thanks again!!“

“I’m flabbergasted how this place has a 4.4 (as of 5/18/2026)!!! We stumbled upon this place in May 2025 but grateful that we did. This will be our go to place in Honolulu. We have been coming here for a year now.
Most of the low reviews came years ago, some even 8 years!!

Walking in I felt transported back to Tokyo. Many of the guests were Japanese. The restaurant was full. The servers speak both English and Japanese! There is limited seating so make reservations. Ask the servers to explain the menu, how to eat the dishes, or pull the food off the grill if you don’t already know how. The food was so exceptional that we had to order the beef dish at the end. We haven’t eaten beef in over a year, but this food was mouthwatering so we decided to go for it. Pure heaven. Again, ignore the 4.4 as I’m sure in 3-4 months, they will be over 4.8 if they keep up this all around quality. They should be a 5.0!!! Call in advance to make reservations!“
