“Skip the food trucks outside and go right into the store! Authentic local options, something for everyone. The coconut shrimp and guava smoked pork (local surf and turf) were absolutely incredible. While you’re waiting for your food, check out the store and add some things to your bill, it can all be purchased at the same place. It might be intimidating to go into a place like this but support the local community, it’s a win-win with the delicious food!“

“Let me say that it was an awesome choice deciding to stop in here. I am so glad we did. The food was so delicious 😋 I had chicken cutlet with the rice and gravy and im telling you so ono, yessah! The flavor of the breading and the crunch 100% The staff so nice and welcoming. If you visiting the island stop in and you wont be disappointed, be nice and respectful and it will returned to you with interest 👍Aloha 🤙“
“Cute, casual, open-air place with shaded seating. Friendly, easygoing atmosphere. Shave ice is a bowl of loosely flaked ice with sweet flavored syrup, eaten with a spoon and straw. Refreshing on a hot day. Our vegan family got "ice only" fruit flavors, hence vegan ($4 a bowl). I enjoyed my combo pineapple and li hing (salted dried plum) shave ice. Vegetarians and omnivores can gild the lily by adding (dairy) ice cream and topping ($7 a bowl I think). I was tempted to get some fresh tropical fruit, also for sale, but skipped it. We saw other folks getting cut coconuts and pineapples with straws to drink the juice. Mango and other local sliced fruit was also available. A half dozen souvenir shops are in the same little parking area. The most upscale was the sea glass art shop, with works by local artists. Other shops sell tshirts, swim wear, jewelry, etc. Updated from previous review on 2022-12-28“

“Cash only! And drive around the traffic circle all the way and you'll see it, otherwise it's easy to miss. But you'll be glad you found it.
Nome Ono does not have an extensive menu, but if the rest of their lineup was as good as the shrimp fried rice it's worth the trip. They offer four or five versions of fried rice. And they have five or six entrees that they serve with steamed rice. Most choices are $18 as of today. Had I been here on my own I likely would have had one of the shrimp entrees - probably garlic shrimp or possibly coconut shrimp. But I was with my wife and she wanted the shrimp fried rice, so that's what we went with. Easily enough for both of us, with probably seven or eight shrimp and a huge pile of well-seasoned rice with a chopped up fried egg tossed in. We had just arrived on the island and wanted a light lunch and it was perfect.
There are a handful of tables with benches with a cover to keep you out of the direct sun, and there's a beautiful view just off to the side. Definitely worth stopping by if you're anywhere in the neighborhood.“

“Great local place! You know it's gonna be good when it's mostly locals there that the owners know.
Our favorite dish from there were the peanut butter buns. This cannot be missed! If you like peanut butter - please don't leave workout trying it from here. Gooey delicious and divine.
The garlic shrimp were yummy. Loco moco was above average. Kalbi beef was great.“

“Local restaurant with great food and service. Breakfast was amazing. My husband said it's the best omelet he's ever had. I had coconut pancakes that were excellent. There's not a place to sit and eat. It's definitely takeout. But we drove to the Hukilau beach literally two minutes away to eat. Eating coconut pancakes while looking at the ocean is pretty much heaven on earth, just saying.“

“Wanted some Island food for a quick lunch before heading to beach. The menu was varied and plentiful. I got the lau lau pork (first time) and it was good. Husband got seafood plate with chicken katsu. The amount of seafood was same as the katsu (he’d hoped more seafood, given the name). Said the seafood was good, katsu was better.“

“We had a wonderful family dinner here. Alyssa was our server and did a great job. The view of the water, the fun casual vibe of the restaurant and the live music with Hawaiian classics mixed with Christmas music was a real treat. The food was good - lamb lollipops were delicious & the lilikoi bread pudding stood out and everyone really enjoyed our dinner here. We will definitely return!“
