“Local plate lunch place. Have tried the kalua pork, pork adobo, and pork squash (squash was a special, not a regular item), was all great, and cheap too.Entrance to the place is inconspicuously tucked into the corner. They have some tables and chairs setup outside, but as an alternative, just down the road is Hunananiho campsite and Waimanalo Beach, nicer to go eat there.“

“Beautiful venue, fantastic and attentive staff, and amazing high-level food. Highly recommend! Having more plants dispersed through the space could warm it a bit more but other than that we wouldn’t change anything. Amazing all-around. Special thanks to our server, John C, who helped make our dinner experience there exceptional.“

“The hospitality from check in to service at the table is always consistently excellent and the recommendations from the servers, always so good! The macadamia nut crusted mahi and the taro hummus were amazing and we loved the refreshing the coconut lime sorbet for dessert. Can't wait to go back and try more!“

“Make sure you triple check your oder. Today we ate at the Honolulu Bistro for the first time. The guy at the register claims he didn't rung us up for 2 sandwiches. At checking out he did say back our order. The recipe is not detailed either. The amount we paid was definitely for 2 sandwiches. We ended up sharing 1 sandwich and left.“

“The service was impeccable. Our server, Evelyn, offered wonderfully delicious suggestions that were on point.
The food was a party in mouth with some delightful flavors (Kalua Nachos, Shoyu Ahi Poke, and Waianae Shaka Moa Egg over rice *raw egg w/white soy sauce).
This was by far a superb place to eat. The ambiance is chill and the decorations eclectic, and the prices are good. Happy hour is from 5-6:30 which gives you the opportunity to sample various menu options at very affordable prices.
I'll definitely come back again on my next visit.“

“Never had I imagined eating a hot dog with Kalua pig amd onion rings on it or anything else as I eat my hot dogs with only mustard and relish! Decide to give this place a try and must say the hot dog I ordered called "common kings" was very delicious! Definitely gonna go back for more! It isn't a regular bot dog bun that they use either, which make this hot dog so tasty and unique! The only warning is that it is a little messy due to the size, but totally worth the mess!“

“My first time here after seeing them on tv. So glad the worker tied the bag of my 3 plates tightly and that they use strong plastic containers. I took a sharp turn and my bag flipped to the side. My food shifted a little in the container, but at least it didn’t spill out or leak out of the containers. Love the hamburger steak with crispy onions! Omg, the special parmesan chicken was huge!! This was ono too. Will definitely go back there again. ❤️“

“I stopped by because I wanted to try poke for dinner. It's enough to eat for dinner, and it's fresh and delicious. The staff are friendly and do not force tips. Just like Subway, you can choose your order one by one! The staff provides friendly guidance, and it is written in Korean. I love it!“

“If you are REALLY HUNGRY, this place will serve you well. I ordered a bbq chicken dish, there three large chicken meat with some veggies, macaroni, two scoops of rice. Quality wise it was OK, not very special but not bad at all. Just a bit salty...“

“Our visit to Hoku's was an absolute delight. We chose the tasting menu, and every bite was special. The composed watermelon was the highlight for me. My husband loved the tagliatelle. The lobster risotto did not disappoint. Lovely flavors and beautiful presentation. Complaints about portion size should be ignored. Each course was exceptional and the richness of successive dishes meant portions were just right. Service was lovely and attentive without being intrusive. Simply a lovely evening and highly recommended.“

“This is as local as it gets. Not like rainbow drive-in...?
Opens early (like 5am), lots of food, good prices and is a mom and pop shop.
Breakfast combo, see Pic, is two link sausages, two portagese sausage, two to three pieces of bacon, 1 spam, 2 eggs (any way you like it) over rice. For like $8 plus tax. For years, they kept the price fair with low over head. Other places would have made this $20 by now. Lol
The other items like mix and bbq mix plate is good too. They are flexible, if you want to change the two items, you can. They are poplar among locals and conveniently cheap for kakaako...one of OGs still here...by only open till slightly after lunch
Service is as you expect. Nothing special, go their enough, she knows your order...haha
Atmosphere is okay, you are NOT there to sit for 2 hrs and enjoy. You eat, and you leave, or take it to go. Some would say it's very mom and pop like. Whatever the case, it's worth going to a local drive-in that doesn't inflate prices or ask you for an additional 3% for all credit card payment.
Parking is all on the street. Hard to get, luckily I just walk over. Some are free, most are metered parking stalls.“

“Quite honestly it was one of the best food experiences of my entire trip to O'ahu, even though it was just an emergency dinner after a very long hike - I was very hungry. The place has a local climate attached to it with friendly people you can talk to and listen to their stories. Prices are really good for the amount of meat you get and its very tasty. Only the mac n cheese wasn't that great for me but I guess it's just not my thing.“

“There are set menus, but the basic system is to choose one to three side dishes. The main ingredients are local Hawaiian foods, so if you don't have prior knowledge, you won't really know what the flavors are or what the ingredients are, but I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's getting more expensive every year, and it doesn't feel like a good deal because it's like, "Hey, this is only $20," but since it comes with a heaping portion of rice and plenty of side dishes, it's more than the average Japanese person can eat. To do.(In that case, I would like it to be a little less expensive.)“

“Value, amount of food for the money, is good, but the quality is uneven.
Service is outstanding: extremely fast from order to ready-to-eat.
Double cheeseburger deluxe (smash) and mixed plate are yummy. Fries (crinkle) are surprisingly good and generous. Soft drinks are fairly priced. However, I’d avoid any of the fried foods, saimin, and beef curry (pick beef stew instead).
The area gets somewhat sketchy after dark, so be aware of your surroundings.“

“Our numerous visitations/food orders from here are hardly disappointing. Food is prepped well with great menu options, poke is fresh & tasty, service is fairly quick and always friendly. We usually order the Saigon Crunch, pasteles or smoked Kalbi plate with extra large shrimps. They do not skimp on their portion size and their tuna-mac salad is excellent! Inside dining may be a tad noisy so we take out, find a table next to the water and ENJOY!“
