“I have been here twice; once for breakfast and once for plate lunch. Both were solid meals, good portions and I got out under $15. I had a Portuguese sausage omelet for breakfast and chicken katsu curry for lunch. The picture is half way through the regular size portion. The interior doesn't have a lot of seating but it's clean and air conditioned.. . I highly recommend this Ewa Beach hole in the wall. Plus they cater. Ono-licious.“

“Best hashbrowns - ever! Breakfast here is always the crowd pleaser. I’ve taken all my ohana here and everyone has been happy. Great menu, extensive sides, rice, mac salad, and no meat options for vegetarians - everything you’d expect on a breakfast menu and more. The best the coffee too!“

“So far this is my favorite L&L. We had just arrived in the area and decided to stop for lunch in-between lease signing and venturing the staff was friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The food was great. Highly recommend this L&L Location.“

“They have a lot of interesting Foods. I tried several and took them home and most everything was good but some things I had no idea what they were. But my son was with me and four of his children are Japanese American and they know what they are and so does he he spent probably 10 years in Japan. So it was a great experience. And I would highly recommend.“
“Very engaging crew, dad jokes / passive aggressive comments had me rolling. Easy to see why this is a top rated luau. Very talented dancers, easy to hear, great food. It rained a little and ponchos were already available. The crew made asking the rain to wait part of the show.
Little upset about parking costing $11 but it's Hawaii and nothing is free.“

“Helena's Hawaiian Food offers a delicious assortment of well-prepared authentic Hawaiian flavors. While I enjoyed the Kalua Pig and the short ribs very much, I wasn't a big fan of the Poi, though that might just be personal preference.
However, the portions were surprisingly small, especially considering that the prices weren't especially low. While the food was tasty, I didn't feel that the value was there. For example, a small plate of short ribs ran ~$30! And the Lomi Lomi felt more like salmon-flavored pico de gallo than actual salmon pieces.
The service was incredibly quick (i.e. food came out within a minute of ordering), which, in hindsight, makes sense since it's all probably pre-made.
The restaurant also is quite small. When you walk in, you definitely get the hole-in-the-wall ambiance. The parking lot, however, can fit maybe ~5 cars, while the restaurant can seat maybe ~10 parties. So plan accordingly.
If you're looking for an authentic Hawaiian experience and don't mind paying a premium, Helena's is worth a try. But if you're on a budget or prefer larger portions, you might want to explore other options.“

“I arrived at Oahu, really hungry. When I went to rent a vehicle that was right next door to this place. They were closing but they told me that I could still order which was really nice ? I must say their food was really good. The place isn't really nice but their food was so ONO. ? if u ever on Oahu and ur hungry, this place is a must for me to go to when I'm hungry. Prices are pretty good for the amount of food they give. I could have shared my plate ? but nope. I saved it for my dinner ? instead. This place is for to go orders. So order ur food and go..... Oh, and for the two local men that were working there when I ordered my food. I want to say THANK YOU ? U both were very nice even though I got there when u guys were just about ready to close up. You guys were the bomb ? thanks again.“

“I recently dined at La Hiki with my husband, enjoying both the breakfast buffet and brunch. I definitely preferred the breakfast buffet for its variety of dishes!
The service was good, and the view of the swimming pool from our table was lovely. Valet parking was very convenient, especially since we were staying at a hotel in Waikiki but chose to come to Four Seasons for their food and the overall experience.“

“Truly one of the last and best Tiki Bars with a great view of the Keehi Lagoon and Marina. Always my first and last stop when traveling to home away from home, the islands of Hawaii...!!!“
“An absolutely fantastic experience! Excellent food, stunning views, wonderful hospitality and incredible performances!! I cannot say enough about the entire staff and talented performers young and old! I’ve seen a few luau’s in Oahu and this one is now my favorite. I really loved learning more about Polynesian culture through the vivid story telling and performances. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this luau. Highly recommend!!“

“This place is a great little family run take-out plate lunch place. The food is great and the prices are ridiculously amazing.I haven’t seen plate lunch prices like this in like 10-15 years. Their regular plates are cheaper than most other places’ MINI plates. And again, the food tastes great. Can’t even think of another restaurant that even comes close to these guys as far as quality and value. My family randomly stumbled upon it a couple months ago and now we come here whenever we are in the area. Awesome place to eat.“

“Go for.the atmosphere. Food is OK, some.of.it good. Some.of it unplayable for a southern taste from the southeast. Expensive for a family of six but glad I went. Disney service all the way.
Brought kids plate out first which made adults going to buffet easier. Server came by frequently checking in on us.
Plenty of time for food and they don't start show until 1 hour after food getting starts so you don't have to rush and miss any of the show.
Perfect timing of everything.
Quality is excellent. I'm just not a fan of the kind of foods.“

“Bob's BBQ has character, a small shop with good food. My brother-in-law was craving meat and they have it. Great pork ribs, beef ribs and chicken. Comes with rice and mac salad. We also had burgers. Crispy bacon made it perfect. The fries were piping hot. Service was nice and efficient. Other customers ordered fish, if we have time before we leave, we csn do another stop.“

“Great food!! I always get 1/2 steak and 1/2 firecracker chicken plate with mashed potatoes and green salad. I call ahead and order my food, then pick it up. You'll get your food faster that way, or else it might be a 20-45 minute wait if you order in person. On this last visit, I saw 2 tables with 2 chairs per table outside. Normally, this place is not a sit-down restaurant.“

“Honestly: I’m disappointed in *myself* for not finding this place sooner! Got the loco moco plate and let me just say- it’s not only packed full of food, but it’s also packed full of FLAVOR! The mac salad was absolutely on point as well. The young lady that assisted me at the counter, Taney, was an absolute delight, and shared her insight on the best “go-to” items on the menu with an added twist. :) I’m already excited for what I’ll try next!“

“Penny's has been a family favorite for decades. We are addicted to the roast turkey plate (get the onions!).
When my wife was recovering in the hospital after our first born, her meal request was a Penny's roast turkey plate.
We stop in whenever we can.
No better low-key, family run grinds on the island!
Kid-friendliness: The staff is so sweet. Our last visit, they gave our kids little fun bags with crayons, coloring pages, etc.
We'll keep returning!“

“Small mom and pop type shop. Steamed manapua was decent, a little too much breading for my liking. Baked manapua was dry... needed water to swallow. Half-moon had excellent flavor, but too much dough, ratio of dough to filling was 3 to 1. The pork hash were massive but had an unusual mushroom flavor. Overall, food was not great but also not bad.Parking is terrible here, but at least the ladies inside were super nice, friendly, and helpful.“

“Really good Hawaiian food!
I ordered the butterfish Lau Lau plate with a side of tripe stew. The butterfish in the Lau Lau was so ono but there was so little of it, it was mostly greens. Luckily the greens were good. But I want meat! The pipikaula was delicious and tender. The tripe stew was also very tasty! I'd give this place a 4.5* for the food if I could.
The guy at the counter was nice, and the restaurant itself was a little dark, but cozy.
Ono Hawaiian food! It's a shame they're closing. At least they have another location in Kalihi for my Lau Lau fix.“

“Excellent oxtail soup, great portions, but a bit pricey. They give lots of cilantro and ginger for the soup making it that much better. Yummm!
Parking: Fair sized lot but with all the different shops, it can get very busy and finding parking can be a challenge.“
“The healthier choice barbeque chicken plate tasted good. The only thing I think could've been better is the fact that, for a regular sized plate (about $10), they only gave one piece of chicken, when most other locations give two for a MINI. I understand L&L is franchised so.....there's that. oh well.“
“As first timers at hawaii, we loved the food and the huge servings! The lady who took our order was warm and friendly as well, she was fond of my son Joel, who greeted her. Cannot beat the price ($ 10-13 for a meal!) and huge serving all over the island! I couldnt finish my food i ate it until dinner haha. They are drive in and take out food shop, cash only and 4 indoor tables only though, nothing fancy but its budget + family friendly, because this whole strip/building are small food businesses side by side.“

“Like many other L&Ls the restaurant does look a little out of shape and run down but don’t let that fool you from coming. You will get fast service and very reasonably priced yummy food that’s packed full of flavor and handled by nice staff. It’s great to visit family in Hawaii once a year and go back to your favorites. And this place totally delivers in quality and flavor.
Parking: Be patient and you will have a parking spot.
Wheelchair accessibility: Level door and plenty of space for a wheel chair.“

“This Plate lunch restaurant in Aiea is worth the visit. Clean dining room with simple inside outside seating. The highlights for me is that I had their Combo plate with hamburger steak with gravy, teriyaki beef and your choice of curry beef stew or just beef stew. I impressed with the hamburger patties they formed and made in house. They grilled my teriyaki to perfection (which there was some charring on the edges, the beef stew had some huge beefy chunks and giant carrots and potatoes. The Mac salad was perfect not to much mayonnaise and any kine vegetables or tuna. No need that stuff in Mac salad? I remember a place I went in the past and they had tuna in their Mac and they didn’t tell my friend who is allergic to tuna, brah he was out from work for 2 weeks because he had a reaction. People were telling him to sue but he chose to live through it then he told them what happened. Luckily the restaurant changed their preparation for Mac and chose to make a side order preparation with tuna.
Well this restaurant has a basic prep without tuna. My only wish for this place is I wished they focused on making and offering different kinds of Loco moco with salted cabbage or kimchi. Like a beef stew moko, laulau moko with or without gravy, even a Katsu moko, or a teriyaki moco. They should just be simply creative. It’s in their name and they should specialize in it. I’d probably come in for a Kalua pig loco moko if they made a pork gravy. Actually I’d probably come back for that I’ll ask for the gravy. Plus they should make their own beef gravy because I can definitely taste the packet gravy they serving or they can add some beef bullion to make it beefier.“

“Usually stay away from Zippys as prices have gone up and portions have gone down but finally decided to go down here on Wednesday night as late night choices are very limited here? and this was 830pm at night....
Had to use my $5 coupon so decided on a Zip Pac Deluxe for $18....but came out a little over $15 when using the coupon so wasnt bad. Had a couple eating their food in the dine in area self serve and other than that it was just me waiting for food. Only took 5 minutes for my food so that was a positive. Food was the typical zippys... Though the chicken got smaller and the teri beef looked rather slim and tiny too. Im glad the Las Vegas Zippys is doing well since I feel post covid that this local food chain is failing.... 4 stars.“

“The cocktails are unreal. Foods good, but the poke portion was really small. Service was fine. Everything is hotel prices but 16 bucks for a single drink is a bit excessive. Had 3 cocktails, poke, sushi and steak bites - with tip was over 150 bucks.“

“We were exploring the area and decided to stop in for a quick lunch.
My wife got the pork ribs with white rice.
I got the chicken Katsu with white rice and "mac salad" ? (macaroni salad).
Both dishes were tasty and not overpriced.
CAUTION: I ordered the regular sized chicken Katsu. It's a lot of food!!!
I'm getting the mini portion next time.
The lady behind the counter was nice. ? funny ? ?.
Huge menu. Check their website first. Nicely laid out menu.“
