“The owner is super cool, extremely nice, and helpful. I ordered the Feijoada (black bean stew with beef short rib and smoked sausage in it, rice and 1 other side I can't remember) but its only served on Fri and Sat, I think. It was excellent!!! I don't have any other Brazilian food (other than a Brazilian steak house) to compare it to, but it was very filling and tasty. Would definitely go back if I lived on O'ahu. The other great thing, if you stay on the Waikiki side of the island, is the drive back. I thought the eastern side of the island was a lot nicer (less suburbanish) than the west side. A lot of cool beaches on the Northside, very pretty (get ready for traffic though, in our case. We've driven a total of 90 miles this trip and it's taken us a total of about 4 1/2 hours). All worth it, though, for a day with the family exploring Hawaii and seeing some beautiful scenery!!!“
“While going around the island, my fiance and I decided to pay a visit to Da Bald Guy after seeing this being featured on a Netflix Series "Street Food: USA". This famous father/son food truck is located off Kamehameha Hwy nestled right next to other food trucks and is open from 6-2 PM Monday thru Saturday til they're sold out-- so come early! WHAT WE ORDERED: Call my fiance and I super Filipino, but we both share a meal during trips or vacations so that we can try different flavors and varieties of food so we're not just stuck eating one particular dish! For lunch, we decided to share the Furikake Crusted Salmon alongside with our order of Garlic Shrimp from Romy's. Furikake Salmon is a solid meal that always hits especially on lazy days in which you don't really want to cook. After waiting 15 minutes or so food and finding seating, our meal finally arrived. And honestly, we've never had Salmon Furikake like theirs before! The flavors, nice crust, and freshness of the Salmon had us mind blown. This meal also came with rice and mac salad. I'm not huge on mac salad, but their mac salad was also delicious! The one thing we regret is not coming earlier to order the combo plate, but we'll definitely be back to try more! We're glad to say Da Bald Guy is not just instagram worthy but definitely the drive and wait was worth it! 10/10 recommend! THINGS TO KNOW: - CARD/CASH ACCEPTED - OPEN 6-2PM UNTIL SOLD OUT - LIMITED PARKING/SEATING“
“The food here is da bomb! My daughter suggested the tsunami nachos and we loved it! Second plate is poke bowl with laos style poke this is my favorite. Thank you Ryan and Khannie for your awesome food and the love and aloha that you share with the customers. Such a wonderful feeling when eating at Rys Poke Shack will definitely be back again“
“shave ice was so yummy. got the mango one and was literally dripping and filled to the brim with juicy mango pieces and syrup. shave ice was a great soft texture as well. a little pricey but ur really getting a lot of food. quick service. cute little food stand.“
“It was a cold day on the beach but warm more inland and found this spot while looking for a bite to eat and had to stop after seeing the cane juice sign. It was super refreshing and served with the island hospitality which is my favorite thing about HI...oh and the sunsets.“
“Very chill spot. Great hole-in-the-wall place with excellent healthy breakfast options. A little pricier, but we'll worth it. Service was very nice, food was great, spot was quiet and cozy.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options, as well as several options that could be made vegetarian.“
“Here you meet the most lovely people in Oahu. The servers are sweet and kind. We are sipping shaved ice mano passion fruit and drinking coconut milk from the coconut, and listening to music and Israel's version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and a Wonderful World. I became immediately sentimental with this beautiful rendition of such a lovely song, bringing a gentle tear to my eye, as I remember thankfully, the beautiful moments, bountiful and joyful days of my life. The food truck, up the street from the hotel a few miles, Da Bald Guy had fabulous thick and spicy, super tasty salmon. We loved our food truck experience! Thank youKid-friendliness: Plenty of room for kids and the whole family at picnic tables.“
“Super friendly and they have good pork and chicken. Found on Google while driving and as I walked through the maze of food carts looking for them, a man cooking at a grill called out asking how I was and if I wanted a sample of what he was making. Starting talking and realized this was the spot I was looking for. More of a tent and table setup, not in a truck/cart. Good eats, recommend supporting them.“
“Got the regular burrito with chicken - excellent! The girl at the counter recommended the burrito and she was right. If you're in the mood for Mexican, this is the place. The roasted tomatillo sauce is fantastically smokey & goes great with the burrito. Very filling also. Definitely going to try the super burrito next time.“
“We originally pulled into this driveway because of a sign that said Sweet Corn. But ironically, we ended up getting everything but sweet corn! This Kula Shaved ice stand is next to the Kuilima Farm.We were contemplating trying this place when a customer told us it was sooo good and that her local friend told them to try this place. And she added they use real fruit to flavor the ice. That hooked us and so we tried it.Man, I thought Island Vintage Shaved Ice was my favorite place, until I took a spoonful of this shaved ice.The flavor fills your tastebuds and it is just amazingly delicious!!! We tried both the Lilikoi and the rainbow mix of Strawberry, Mango, and Blueberry on another day. All flavors were amazing but Lilikoi is my personal favorite.Pricing is high at $13 (Island Vintage is $11) and this one doesn’t come with mochi toppings for free (we never got toppings). But the flavor is unmatched and they also add frozen yogurt inside.Parking is found anywhere in front of this stand or the other fruit stands. There is bench seating all over.I highly highly recommend this place as the best shaved ice I have ever had on the island!!!!“
“Ended up going to this place twice. Ordered four different items. The thing I enjoyed the most was the sandwiches. Did not matter which one but I enjoyed the two I did get. They also offered vegan doughnuts which we did not expect so of course we got a few of those. The wife enjoyed the quesadillas and taco type of salad she got.The food was very fresh and the ingredients were excellent. The place is located in a nice little stop off at an old sugar mill. There are bathrooms and other small shops to visit and a ton of food trucks to check out of all different flavors.Kid-friendliness: My kid ran around and chased chickens while there it was an open and pretty unthreatening location for a child to roam free for a bit while you eat.“
“the food goes without question, it's so good. the burgers are big juicy and craveable. given the choice between laie and kahuku i will always choose kahuku. recently they have been so fast about getting food out and when i asked about it was told it's under new management so it's gonna stay that way!“
“This place can get busy so pace yourself. The food is worth the wait. I love garlic shrimp, but I got steak today with garlic sauce on the rice. Mmmmm. There are a lot of seating here and it's very touristy. The seating is open and fresh air is always nice“
“This place is a must visit! Took my pup here for their free tractor tour ride and we had such an amazing time. Their cafes are run completely from everything grown and made at their farm. We had the açaí bowl and it was deeeelish! The farm is super cute and has a nice lawn with ample seating so you can enjoy your goodies. Totally worth the long trek from town.“
