“Gorgeous views overlooking Kahului. We booked the Distiller’s Table experience and were amazed by the cocktail and local cuisine pairings. Larry and the other staff shared insights not only about the pairings but the connection to local cuisine and culture. Fun time! Come hungry.“

“Do yourself a favor and take the scenic drive UpCountry to the Kula Bistro. They have the best lunch by far we've had on Maui! Our server Benny was fantastic and really sincerely cared about taking care of us. My husband walked across the street and bought a bottle of wine. The restaurant encourages this and they do not charge a corkage fee (they even supplied an ice bucket for our white wine without being asked!) We started with their delicious freshly baked bread basket - (5 pieces of homemade bread with yummy garlic butter). We then split the grilled mahi mahi sandwich on homemade foccia with fries. It was absolutely mouth-watering and plenty for the two of us. (Benny said the portions were large and he was correct!) They have a beautiful mouth-watering display case of tempting cheesecake selections but we were too full. Next time! Benny told us about the history from when the building housed a meat locker (the walk-in freezers are still there and used for their dining supplies) After that it was Cafe 808 and now the Kula Bistro.
They had the cattle ranchers in the area all come in and burn their unique brands on the wooden wall. I think 45 of them. How cool! The food was fantastic and the staff the best you'll find on the island!“

“We had reservations because it’s highly recommended as it’s a gem of a place and were greeted kindly - hostess asked us if we have even been to Maui Wine and showed us where the restrooms were- we didn’t even ask so I thought that was so kind of her. Every single staff member came to our table asking how everything was and if we needed anything, cleared empty dishes ect. - Explained the types of wine and our food selections for us and we left with some wine and jelly 🥰 It was an amazing experience! “My husband and I stopped here after watching the sunrise at HaleakalĀ. It is the cutest little spot. The pastry shop and coffees as open early and dining/breakfast start at 10am. We were early so we got some yummy quiche, the best berry mango scone I’ve ever had and some hot cocoa and lattes. I’m unsure why there are bad reviews for hours or service. The barista we spoke to was lovely, we had a great conversation and a couple of the customers that were local waiting behind us also were so kind. Interactions are dependent on one’s own attitude and willingness to be open/friendly, and not solely the responsibility of the server/waitstaff. I’d ignore the negative reviews and definitely pop in for morning coffee and pastries or to dine in after 10am.“

My Thai near the Maui airport completely blew us away. We tried the Thai tea, spring rolls, Thai fried rice, basil fried rice, and plain noodles for my son—and every single dish was exceptional. The flavors were so rich, balanced, and authentic that I can confidently say I’ve never tasted Thai food like this in my last 15 years.

What truly sets this place apart is not just the food, but the hospitality. The owner personally shared that some of the dishes are their own non-recipe creations, and you can genuinely taste the passion and originality in every bite.

And the coconut tapioca pudding—wow. It deserves a special mention because it was simply out of this world. One of the best desserts I’ve ever had, Thai or otherwise.

If you’re anywhere near the airport or visiting Maui, this place is an absolute must-visit. Incredible food, warm service, and a dining experience we’ll remember long after our trip. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Maui! 🙏🇹🇭🍽️“
