“Aloha all! I had the pleasure of stumbling into Peles Kitchen one fine Friday afternoon with my brother from another mother Austin Martin when they had newly started up a karaoke fun event ( I love karaoke so I was so happy). Since then we have been in twice every week for the food, friends and the art (I mean come on, have you seen this place?!) along with the music (provided by Shiloh amongst other talented musicians such as Cory G). Peles has become a second home for me which means so much as someone new to the island (the owner Casey and his staff truly made us feel like a part of their Ohana) and I just can’t get enough of their vibe and farm to table magic, I mean food. Thank you to everyone at Peles for everything they do and I hope all the locals as well as anyone visiting the big island of Hawaii does themselves a favor by trying out your spot. #supportsmallbusiness #supportlocal #supportyourisland“

“It was the only restaurant actually open along their stretch of road, but it was really good. The food was great, and the service was friendly. The food came out really fast. They were really on top of refilling your cup of water.
The only slight complaint I had was the atmosphere; it was a bit gaudy and Buddha-heavy. And it got a bit noisy. They also had tacky ads for food items under the glass top of each table.
But overall, it was great. I recommend the mee ka tee.“

“A lovely dinner spot in the quietter part of time. We arrived around 5 on a Saturday and were able to get a table. By the time we left, the place was more busy. The food tasted fresh and we had zero complaints about our service. Would recommend this for a date night or a dinner out with friends.“

“Perfect vacation breakfast. Pancakes are as big as the plate. And tastes better than IHOP. You can get two of the pancakes with two strips of bacon for $10.95. Quaint little restaurant, I would recommend it to any age group. Even children love it here. Hats off to the chef and wait staff. We'll done.
Vegetarian options: They do have things that can be modified for vegetarians.
Dietary restrictions: Just let the wait staff know of restrictions that you may have.
Parking: They have their own parking lot.
Kid-friendliness: Yes, kid-friendly. And has a great child menu.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it is wheelchair friendly.“

“This spot is only open on Fri-Sun from 11am-7pm & is as authentic as any Thai place we have had. The place is off the road and can't be missed as it's tent setup. The people are super friendly and said they will make sure to have enough food for everyone. We got the cucumber salad (amazing), Thai fried rice (spicy and just right), and Pad See Ew. While we waited, we tried the Brazilian Grindz, the SiSi Tacos, and shaved ice cream spot.
Vegetarian options: Tofu options available for most dishes
Dietary restrictions: They made sure to address my wife allergies to seafood (except shrimp), sesame, fish sauce, hoisin sauce (made with mushrooms), and avocado
Parking: Open gravel parking lot
Kid-friendliness: Lots of families with kids“

“I've been going to Lemongrass for about 13 years and it has always been excellent. However, post covid-19 it's fallen in quality. The food is served in to go boxes with paper plates & plastic forks. No hot green tea like they used to have, and the food itself is just okay whereas pre-covid-19 it was always some of the best Asian food in Puna and Hilo. There dining room is full of stock (a post covid-19 thing) and seats less people. With that said still support local businesses it really does matter.“

“I pick up food at least twice a week from Panchos, usually after swimming because it’s very filling! Tacos for me or the Burrito for my grandson, I also love the Sinaloa burrito plate and Mulita!“
