“How should I start? We had been in the Big Island for 4 days, and the food experience was a mediocre at best. We imagined fresh and delicious food everywhere and boy we were wrong!! On our 5th day, we went to the Cipriano Kitchen and we were just blown away! The food was incredible and beautifully presented! Everything from the cocktails, fresh focaccia with burrata, crudo, lobster ravioli with octopus, orecchiette with sausage and chicken and affogato was just simply amazing! We are going back for more tomorrow! Thank you, Claudia, for such a wonderful welcome and food!!! I wish I can steal you to open the Cipriano’s Kitchen in NY!“

“Hawaiian style cafe offers a wide selection of options for you. Pancakes are always so large and a plate come with 3 pancakes with butter. So be mindful of the size before ordering. Hash brown portion is a a little big as well. Although the pricing is so reasonable, there is always a chance that you'll waste food. The wait time can be a little long depending on the hours. Service is quite quick. Would definitely love the food and staff. This place only accepts cash. They do have an ATM onsite.
Parking: The place is so famous. Hence it might be a little difficult to find parking. But overall there are planty of parking space around the cafe.“

“Great food! Wow we were impressed. A lot of plate lunch spots can be so repetitive but this one stood out.We got one of everything and didn’t regret it.Got the kalbi ribs , chicken, pork belly(taste like an amazing pork chop) and mahi w/creamy sauce and capers. We asked to get everything a lil more browned and he did and it was so tasty. My family of four(who are picky) loved it…not picky cause they don’t like anything but picky cause we cook so good at home, we’re not easily impressed.Lots of love was put into the food. Marinated , browned, and good portions. The only critique is that the fish could’ve used a dash more of salt but I understand that when it comes to fish you don’t want to over season so u can taste the fish. But it was still cooked really well, fresh and did enjoy it.We also enjoyed the little bit of Kimchi that was added, nice touch. And I think it was grilled? The Mac salad was bomb and so was the saimin was better than the norm. Had a bit of smokiness. We needed up get everything if u go.But There were a couple tables there. This spot didn’t have many reviews so we were hesitant but we’re really glad we went and we hope more people start going and support this food truck. We loved it. We live on Oahu but if we lived on island this would be one of our go to spots. The owner was super nice , friendly and helpful. Thanks chef! ?“

“Totally awesome authentic burger place. My only regret was not ordering another burger. My sister had the Surf Burger and I had the Hi-Heat. On the drive back to our hotel, we just randomly kept saying what a great burger those were. Honestly surprised we didn’t turn around and go back for more.“

“This was an unexpected find! The person working was very knowledgeable about their vegan options and they are clearly marked. We tried 2 dishes. The first was the mung bean pancake with daikon, shoyu potatoes and pipinola shoots. This was fantastic, the daikon paired really well with the pancake. We also tried the jap chae noodles with vegetables. There were okay, a little too oily for my personal preference. I would skip this next time.“

“After a long morning at Waimea State Park, I picked Da Booze Shop because the name made me laugh. Well the jokes on me because the food, service, and atmosphere were stellar! I have always loved eating in Mom and Pop places because they always have the best food. I got the Mahi Katsu and had enough leftover for a snack. If you are traveling with kids this is a great place to eat. You can eat across the street at the park and let the kids play and expend some energy.“

“Went there during off peak time just to get the (cold) steamed chicken w/ ginger sauce.
Very tender/moist chicken w/ the generous side of ginger-scallion sauce on the side.
Better than the ginger chicken I used to get in little Saigon in SF! Worth the 40 mon drive from Kona. Duck is excellent also“
“Falafel sandwich with macadamia nut cheese was really satisfying: the focaccia was fresh and crisp, the falafel was hearty, the fillings were flavorful and well-rounded. The fries were also excellent: crispy, salty, hot. Although not a huge amount of options, this place really surprised on the execution.“

“Being a celiac surrounded by mouth-watering, cheesy pizza is impossibly sad. My family looks forward to Pau Pizza night, but I am not left out in any way. Pau’s superfood salad, with quinoa, edamame, bright-tangy vinaigrette, and crunchy greens hits the spot. Their sister restaurant, Taco Rosa, has more spicy flavors than anyone could ever dream up for a simple taqueria. Healthy, hit-you-oh-so-good heat, vegan and gluten free grubtious goodness!“

“Fantastic, fresh fish at a reasonable price. That is hard to find on the island! Staff were very friendly, everything came out quickly, and the quality was great on every item! We had sashimi, several rolls, chirashi bowl. Patricia, our server, was fantastic and we managed to get in early for our reservation!“

“Cocktails at the bar during sunset. Perfect. Seated early when our table was ready. Waitress greeted us and set up our whole dinner as we desired. Food was excellent and plenty of it. But by the end of our meal we could see our waitress was overwhelmed by the now full house and she could not get to our table in a timely fashion. Eventually she came around, we ordered dessert (Kona Affogato excellent!). But we had to wait a fair amount of time for dessert to arrive. When it did, I had to eat quickly as we were trying to catch a shuttle back to our hotel. Had to ask the busboy to bring our check to leave on time. Otherwise, this was one of many times we've been here. I highly recommend, food is always outstanding, the bar venue overlooking the ocean and sunset is amazing!“

“Sweet little spot with delicious food! The deep fried soft shell crab was crunchy and tasty and served with some leafy veggies and daikon. The shrimp pho was flavorful and served with a good portion of shrimp! It was served with bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, lemon, and hoisin and sriracha sauces. It hit the spot! The Com Thit Nuong plate was just as appetizing. The pork was tender and grilled perfectly. The service was good. The appetizer was served quickly and our meals came out shortly after. I would definitely stop in again!“

“Loved the pizza! We ordered to go, but waiting was very pleasant, the staff was very helpful and super friendly. I love that it's super close to the cottages, can just walk on over.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for wheelchairs to the right of the restaurant entrance“

“Food is ok, it's a fast food Chinese place in a strip mall. They have decent choices and prices are reasonable. Portion size is big and filled me up, flavor left a lot to be desired but ok for a quick stop and food. Mall bathrooms were clean.
Vegetarian options: Stir fry veggies available also some tofu dish.
Parking: Plenty of strip mall style parking“

“They serve breakfast as well as the everyday faire of food. I had the French toast for my early breakfast one day and the chili spaghetti on a separate night visit. The Chili needs a little more flavor because it is fairly bland with no heat at all. Just some salt would help.
Parking: Shared lot with other businesses .“

“I have ordered here many times and this restaurant stands out from the others. Everything is fresh and made to order. The pad Thai, which I requested very light on the spices and cilantro, was excellent. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the wait time is long, so if you can call ahead, you may save yourself some wait time.“

“This restaurant obviously has it all going for itself with the location, on top of that the food and drinks are incredible but what makes it incredible is the service. Cristalle (sorry if I spelled this wrong) went ABOVE and beyond to make our dining experience incredible. She was so funny and engaging and made every effort to accommodate dietary restrictions for an amazing dining experience. Hopefully she remembers this quote but she was truly the “McGogger of the day”! She is an asset to the hotel and truly defines what hospitality means.“

“Great varied menu, should be enough for May people to find something to their liking. They only have one lager on the menu, but they were out with no suitable replacement. That was disappointing considering they are a beachside bar and grill. The sunset view is top notch.“

“Nice experience with delicious food. It's a bit overpriced, but acceptable for a unique experience due to its location. Seeing the Manta Rays and snorkelers in the bay around sunset and after dark was worth the extra cost! We went twice in a week and saw Manta Rays one night. Our party had a variety of entrees that were all good. The chocolate soufflé was fabulous.“

“The Copper Bar at the Mauna Kea is always one of our first stops when staying on the Big Island. Our excellent server was Lacey who was cheerful and knowledgeable. We shared the KFC appetizer as well as a Red dragon roll and a Margherita pizza. The entertainer Pomai played beautiful music on his electric guitar and granted our musical requests. The Hula dancer was also lovely. You cannot beat sunset there - AND I saw the green flash !“
