“Fabulous place to eat and experience some Hawaiian foods. Only issue is lack of bathrooms, there is literally just one for use, I thought that after their remodeling, following the Covid issues, that they might have installed at least one more bathroom.
However, despite the lack of bathrooms this is still one of the best eats on the Big Island with huge plate sized pancakes and awesome Kalbi ribs. Just the other day their special of Ribeye omelets was phenomenal, with excellent mushroom and onion sauteed gravy, I highly recommend it if that is something you might enjoy.
Aloha“

“My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience here. We both ordered delicious dishes—my pork belly with noodles and my wife’s salmon. The portions were generous, and the food was absolutely delicious. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try.“

“What a fun place to eat. Phenomenal food and fun folks. Sunday night with Matt, Daryl, Danby and Bok-Choy Nagasaki Boy. See you in February“
“Although we came primarily for the beer, the food did not disappoint. We ordered a flight of tasters which included a Black IPA, Belgian Dark, Double IPA, Baltic Porter and Red IPA. While all were true to style an tasted great, we felt compelled to purchase an additional pour of the Black IPA at the table and and to take away the Belgian Dark and Double IPA for later enjoyment. We will definitely return for both the food and beer. Well worth the stop if you're passing through Waimea.“

“After a long morning at Waimea State Park, I picked Da Booze Shop because the name made me laugh. Well the jokes on me because the food, service, and atmosphere were stellar! I have always loved eating in Mom and Pop places because they always have the best food. I got the Mahi Katsu and had enough leftover for a snack. If you are traveling with kids this is a great place to eat. You can eat across the street at the park and let the kids play and expend some energy.“

“Tasty pizza, decent price (for Hawaii 😉), DO NOT Underestimate how big 18 inches is!! 😄 Plenty to feed 3-4 hungry adults! **CASH ONLY** tax included in prices (I can’t add a photo for some reason. Maybe I can in comments. 😕)“

“Jade Palace – Waimea’s Hidden Gem for Big Groups & Big Flavor
We’ve found our go-to spot in Waimea: Jade Palace, where the food hits the spot, the service is fast and friendly, and feeding a hungry group doesn’t break the bank.
We walked in with a party of six—no reservation, no wait. They sat us right away (huge bonus points), and parking was a breeze. Gotta love a place that’s both convenient and delicious.
Our usual? The Family Dinner for 4—and yes, it fed all six of us with ease. We ordered:
Orange Chicken – perfectly crispy with a tangy-sweet glaze.
Salt & Pepper Fish – light, flavorful, and not greasy. A sleeper hit.
Beef with Broccoli – classic, tender, and comforting.
Mongolian Beef – bold flavors with just the right kick.
The service is warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the kitchen turns out food impressively fast. It’s hard to find a spot that hits all the marks—great prices, generous portions, tasty dishes, and reliable service—but Jade Palace does it effortlessly.
Pro tip: Come hungry, come with friends, and don't sleep on the family dinner—it’s the best deal in town.“

“Totally awesome authentic burger place. My only regret was not ordering another burger. My sister had the Surf Burger and I had the Hi-Heat. On the drive back to our hotel, we just randomly kept saying what a great burger those were. Honestly surprised we didn’t turn around and go back for more.“

“Good place for dinner after a day exploring Waimea Canyon. We ordered a veggie pizza for take out. The pizza was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed it.
However, we asked to 'substitute' a few toppings but were charged for 'substitutes' as 'extra toppings'. One pizza cost us $45+ tips. So, we paid for the toppings we never had on our pizza too. in this regard, make sure you check before paying.“
“Had teriyaki chicken from this excellent food truck on December 10, 2025. Quite honestly, it was the best teriyaki chicken I’ve ever had. So delicious.“

“We are here 30 minutes before closing. The fried fish is incredible and I recommend trying it. Our food was served fast, fresh and hot. Minus 1 star because the employee started mopping the floor around us 5 minutes before they were scheduled to close. We got the hint and left immediately.“

“If you’re looking for exceptional pho, this is the place. We have two local restaurant spots in Waimea, so we’re pretty particular about food—and this is hands down the best pho we’ve had. Everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and the packaging was perfect. You can tell it’s run by people who truly care about the quality of what they serve. Highly recommend if you’re craving great Vietnamese food.“

“I have ordered here many times and this restaurant stands out from the others. Everything is fresh and made to order. The pad Thai, which I requested very light on the spices and cilantro, was excellent. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the wait time is long, so if you can call ahead, you may save yourself some wait time.“

“Kawika was an amazing bartender/server. He kept our drinks full, kept us laughing, and was super attentive. He described the lobster fried rice and made it sound so good that we decided to order it. It was delicious!!!!! Then he sold us the mud pie and again it was a winner. Thank you Kawika for your knowledge, aloha, and hospitality“

“I ordered the wor wonton min and it was loaded with veggies and won tons- no complaints! I also got a 2 choice plate with roast pork and beef broccoli and the rice noodle- could’ve had more beef broccoli on the plate but there was generous amounts of roast pork and noodles. Both ladies working behind the counter were patient, kind and courteous.“

“Underrated experience all around, in my opinion. This fit the vibe of my wife and I better than The Manta did during our stay at the Mauna Kea. It's relaxed but still polished with great atmosphere. The octopus pictured was great and also a much larger portion than expected. Copper Bar also served me the best burger I've had in Hawaii with local beef (not pictured). Great cocktails too. I was into the Tahitian limeade.“

“Food was great, I had a falafel platter. Andrew had a burger. We sat at the bar to avoid table wait time. I think last call was 7:45 and they cleaned up and turned lights out by 8. Pricey but that’s expected in a beach side resort in Hawai’i.“

“The views are stunning! Absolutely loved the scenery at this restaurant. The food was ok, but nothing special - it lacked a lot of seasoning. The only food item that was really spectacular was the Bombe Alaska.
It seemed they were understaffed. We had to ask for water a few times and our server was constantly running around but hardly had any time for us, although he was very kind and had good recommendations. I think each waiter had more than 10 tables to wait on... They were not properly staffed. We felt bad for him and it created a less than impressive service experience.“
