“If you're looking for fresh poke with 0 frills, this is the spot. I ordered a platter which came with 4 poke option and 2 sides. I got seaweed salad and 4 hearty size scoops of yummy fish. Parking is hard to find and there are a few picnic tables for your dining pleasure. Worth it 💯“

“This place has a large menu with tons of vegan options. Everything marked with a green V can be made vegan. Make sure you tell them and they will do it. I got the vegan Thai tea (made with coconut creamer) and it was delicious and sweet! They were out of boba but those are also vegan. For an appetizer I got the Vegan Basil spring rolls. These were huge! They come in an order of 4 and there is a peanut dipping sauce and a Hoisin sauce on the side with spoons so you can layer the sauces into each bite! I really liked the peanut sauce with these the most. They fall apart near the end of the roll, but they are very fresh and the basil is a really nice flavor. I'm also so happy they don't come with cilantro in them! For my main course I got Pad Seen Eww (vegan) with tofu and medium spice. This was a large portion and the noodles were cooked perfectly. They weren't too hard or soft. The flavor was great with just a hint of sweetness. I really liked the fried tofu in this dish too. It didn't have a bad sponge texture and had a nice "skin" that was crispy. The medium spice was good, but next time I would get the next level higher. Not every bite was spicy, just the few that had the chili flakes on them so I would get a bit more. Absolutely delicious meal overall and I will have to come back soon! Reservations are recommended during busy lunch and dinner times, especially for big groups.“

“I personally love The Fishhopper. I believe they are the best restaurant in Kona. I adore the staff. The bartenders are top tier! My favorite dish is The Monchong Risotto.. it’s such a treat. Don’t hesitate to go and check them out. Have a drink for meee:)“

“My husband got a ninja star roll and said this was some of the best sushi he’s ever had. The wait time said 2 hours when we first walked up, but we only got the 1 roll and only waited maybe 10 minutes, so we were really happy about that.

“We ate here after 12 hours of traveling and could not have been happier. The service was so friendly and outdoor seating with tiki torches and a view of the water was great. My son isn’t always the most adventurous eater but he asked to try the clams from my seafood stew and pronounced that he “loves clams more than pizza”. It was his first time trying it. He had the kid’s grilled cheese with fries, and myself and my friend had the Crabby Patties crab cakes, cocktails, fish n chips and seafood stew. Everuthing came out quickly, hot and fresh. It was just what we needed after airport food all day.“

“We've been coming here pretty regularly when we make our annual trek to the Big Island.
Their 'BBQ' chicken (what I call teriyaki chicken) is tasty, well prepared. Not a big fan of the beef which is VERY thinly slices beef.
I ordered the Chicken Wings this last trip, they were fantastic! I will get them again.
Served with a couple scoops of steamed rice and OF COURSE, the yummy yummy mac salad.
Service here was very friendly, efficient.
Plastic to-go containers make me sad. Oddly enough it seems environmental concerns have taken a back seat here in Hawaii, they were making good strides pre-COVID.“

Awa ( Hawaiian Cava)- was unique, it is made from the root of pepper plant . It is an acquired taste , so very glad we tried it. We drank our bowl.

CHICKEN LAU LAU- the greens , Butterfield combo was great. Kimchi being a good accompaniment. This was a good satisfying bowl of food. Comes with - purple sweet potato, greens butter fish n chicken, 2 balls of rice topped with furikake, kimchi.

Sweet potato in coconut milk- this was a disappointment. We couldn't eat it. The root veggie was bland, the coconut milk was not seasoned. I had eaten something similar to this in a luau with coconut cream and loved it. This dish here was sub par.“

“Our family of 11 dined here on July 28th. We chose this restaurant as it was close to where we would be doing the Manta Ray Swim and where others that were golfing at Kona Country Club were close as well. The food was delicious. I think we had a little of everything at our table. Sweet chili wings, fries, Chicken Teriyaki, Seafood Pasta, Fish Tacos, are just a few of the items our crew enjoyed! Oh, and the Chocolate cake was amazing! Our sever, Cherlynn (I hoped I spelled it right) was absolutely outstanding! While we were at dinner our swim was canceled. We were a little bummed but her attitude, personality, and spirit was just what we needed! She truly has the kindest soul and a great resprentation of Aloha. Thank you for a wonderful experience. “Great quiet views of the bay! This place is tucked away within a shopping area so it is easy to miss but I am so glad we found it. It was a relaxing location to sit for dinner after the sunset. I had the Mahi Mahi fish and chips. It was all good and so we're the pina coladas.“
