“This is by far the best vegan restaurant on the island. The food quality is absolutely the best compared to any other vegan restaurant. You could tell it's prepared with love and it's so fresh. The owners are great, the Ambiance is great and even my non-vegan friends love this place. Can't say enough good things other than I wish they had a delivery service so I could order their food more! This is a small family-owned business in a laid-back not too busy part of the island, so give them your business when you can!!“

“First time here for this local resident! I've driven past this intersection for decades and have no idea when this business popped up. Great location, parking, outdoor seating (kid and dog friendly), and a solid, healthy menu. I had the vegetarian burrito with tofu, and scarfed it down before remembering to take a picture. That's how good it was. A trickier proposition when it's raining, but that's also when the flies leave the area.“

“So it’s like this… Kua ‘Aina Sandwich Shop has got to be the best burger for the job if you’re hungry amidst shopping for all the great gift ideas!! Bacon burger with all the fixings and also with the green chili Tabasco is mayjah and it scratches the itch every time. Really good as a medium rare burger. So juicy!! One of my favs!! Kudos!!“

“We ordered the honey goat pizza which was unlike any other pizza I’ve ever had and was delicious. They put the perfect amount of each ingredient and it tasted like it was made with love. You can’t get homemade tasting pizza like this at a Domino’s or Pizza Hut.

The service was also amazing! There were only 2 people working there but they both had a smile on their face the whole time and answered every question so well.

Finally the atmosphere was awesome, they have these nice wood tables with umbrellas, yellow lights, and a perfect playlist which makes the whole vibe!

“This is our go-to desert place, whether we’re on the north shore or coming from central Oahu. We decided one morning to have lunch there and ordered crepe’s, Jacinta helped us with recommendations and we were not disappointed, the perfect meal before heading to the beach.“

“The wait to be seated was pretty long but I like the way they do it. You signed on a piece of paper and then wait outside, they called out to you when a table is ready. My favorite part was that everyone was smiling and happy despite the busyness. It always sucks to have to wait and then be greeted by a cranky stressed out waiter (even though I totally get it) but there was none of that. Everyone was chill and happy and the food was good.“

“Visited this place for the first time - and honestly it was the highlight of my day even before I got my take out order. It’s hard to find- but the best restaurants sometimes are. Super clean and cute inside- with a great soundtrack playing. The front clerk was so gracious and warm to everyone. Though I could have ordered ahead- the wait wasn’t very long. The burrito had to weigh about 2 pounds- it was definitely enough to feed two- and it was sooo good. The sauce on the side was fire 🔥 (literally too hot for me). But while some like it hot, anyone who likes good Mexican food is going to love Barrio Cafe.“

“While the flavors are great, skip the shrimp tacos. For $20, two small shrimp per taco is frugal. You end up eating mostly tortilla and cabbage. Either think the tortillas or be generous and add a third shrimp! Better to purchase the mixed taco or any of the other proteins.

Update: I spoke with the owner, Joseph, who apologized for the error on our order and ensured this won't happen again. Our other dishes were generously portioned and overall, the spices and quality of ingredients were 👌🏼.“

“I stopped by around 9am on a weekday. Music played inside quietly. It was a calm and welcoming environment. The girl that helped me at the register was super friendly and answered all my questions. There was available seating and not much of a wait. I ordered a steak wrap and a matcha latte. The matcha powder was mixed well and the wrap had a great amount of steak with the veggies. I think the the wrap was worth the price. The matcha a little pricey for the size.“

“We had dinner at Haleiwa Joe’s in Haleiwa and really enjoyed the experience.
We started with the bread and butter and the calamari fries, which were crispy and very good. For our mains, we had the Teriyaki Top Sirloin and the grilled fish. The steak was juicy and nicely cooked, and the wasabi flavor was added so delicately to the sauce that it made the dish unique without being overpowering. The grilled fish was also very good.
The food presentation was great, and everything looked as good as it tasted. We finished with the Paradise Pie, and it was amazingly good. We were really happy we decided to order dessert because it was definitely one of the highlights of the meal.
The outdoor setting was beautiful, with a great tropical atmosphere, and the service was awesome too. Overall, a very enjoyable dinner and definitely a place we’d go back to if ever in Oahu again.“

“This is my first time here.This place in my opinion has solid local old school tradition and not just vibes but deep Hawaii local Aura. I found out from owner Mike that they make their own noodles in house and their noodles are as good as Shige’s in Waiahawa. This place is my new favorite for local style fried noodles. Next time I come I’ll try the saimin and cheese burger, and or the chicken katsu curry or cold ginger chicken. It’s not fancy but the food is affordable and so Ono. I got the fish and chips and a mini fried Saimin.
