You are greeted right away, the atmosphere is friendly and happy sincerely, the food is absolutely comforting and delicious, there signature item is there lemonade ?. They also have more soup options and items available then offered for me to recommend I highly recommend there salads, sandwiches, and soups.

“just finished my sandwich, on the road from WI to NE and this place was a perfect stopping point. inside was nice and clean and we got our sandwiches super fast. i was pleasantly surprised with how good my sandwich was, normally when i get jimmie johns it’s pretty gross but i liked this one!“

“Great Subway location!! It has charging stations, the facility is clean. The employee's are friendly. The reason for not a 5 star is upon request for a plastic knife to cut up my tomatoes I was informed they had none. Then I requested a knife so I could do it myself they said they couldn't let me use a knife (which I totally understand) then I asked if they could just cut it for me. I had not opened the salad or anything yet. I was told they don't do chopped salads anymore. Ok cool lol. So moral of the story if you want your tomatoes cut up on your salad ask while they are preparing your food. I would like to re-itterate no employee was rude or disrespectful. Very pleasant staff!“

“Has been a family staple for so long. Being age 10 and Max knew exactly what I wanted. I don't get on this side of town much often anymore but I'm going to. the new owners are 💯 amazing and it was amazing seeing my "Deli Mom" she was busy like normal so I didn't bother her .“

“A little off our path from the highway but the service and food well worth it. Your typical deli fair but the secret is in the sauce. That's right their house made dressing was a big difference and left a nice sweet tang to the sandwich. Definitely recommend it if you're in a hurry and want something to fill you up.

“McAlister's is basically where you can go if you want Panera but don't want to eat Panera again. They have a ton of options for soup, sandwich, and salad, and they have a "Pick 2" deal as well. The soups all taste good, but it's like they take a normal hearty soup and send it through an industrial puree machine to make it smooth and dull. That makes the chili especially sad-looking. That said, very easy to get full on 5-700 calories and reasonable sodium levels (for fast food, anyway).“

“I ate lunch here on St. Paddy's Day, 2025. I had never been here before but I will definitely be back. First of all, they have Coke products, which is great for Diet Coke addicts like me, and I got a huge soda with FREE REFILLS. They even came to my table and got it for me. I ordered the "Choose 2" and got a club sandwich and loaded potato. Both were so delicious. Great meal. Delicious salted caramel chocolate cookie. Everyone was so friendly. Highly recommend!!

“This is by far the best Subway in the Des Moines metro. I often leave Subways disappointed I went in the first place, wishing I could have just made my sandwich myself as they're sloppily thrown together and zero customer service accompanies them, but not here. Every staff member I have encountered has been so friendly, always greeting me right when I walk in. In particular, the gentleman that has glasses is the absolute best. I always prefer him to make my sandwich because he does such a good job!! The place is always so clean as well, which isn't common for most Subways. I am extremely disappointed they have changed the service model to make you order all the toppings at the register and cannot see the toppings. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I could smell sewage. This was a definite turn off and I can see why no one was eating inside.“

“There was a sign for where you could order your meals but it wasn’t very visible so we had gotten in line for adding the ingredients and making the sandwiches (which we thought was the start of the line) but then had to go back to the front to order. Very crowded don’t recommend going during the weekend especially lunch hours. Their internet was down so they could only do charges up to 25 dollars one at a time. The kimchi Philly was delicious. “I've been frequenting this Subway more often these days. This is one of my Go-To Subways.
I have tried Subways at quite a few places in Des Moines.
And, I can say - by far - this is the bets of the lot - both in terms of service and quality of food.

The staff is amazing. All of them do a wonderful job.
Rohin (or Arun) - He has been the one who takes care of my order most of the times. Very nice person, humble, with a great attitude, great listener and customer focused.
Jen - She is an amazing woman. Pleasant attitude, very attentive.
Rocky - He is another wonderful staff. Great service and nice friendly attitude.

Being a vegetarian, my options are limited. But, the staff makes sure that their hands are clean and washed and they take proper care of my dietary needs.

And, Rajesh - he is the owner and manages this outlet quite well.

Well, after four visits are not completed, I will say that the staff and owner of this place are doing things the right way! I used to be a subway and Jimmy Johns customer, but after visiting this location multiple times, I am now a Jersey Mike's customer. The owner is really outgoing and easy to talk to, making things more relaxing once the order is being processed. The staff that prepares the food are friendly also, and they aim to please as much as possible (within reason). The sandwiches are built with care, not sloppily put together like other establishments I have visited. The facility is clean, and safety making the sandwiches is always practiced.
