“We live in Ankeny, but very often drive to the Johnston Panera to enjoy our weekly coffee/pastry date. This location is obviously managed well. It is always clean and the pastries are not over baked. The coffee bar is also always clean as is the microwave. Coffee is always fresh and if it isn't they immediately bring out a fresh pot. Also this location seems to be well staffed! Our compliments to the management and staff of this Johnston location! Well done!“

They have good coffee. Good breakfast. The only reason I gave them 4 stars, instead of 5 is because I really wish they would bring back the crumpets. This is one of the very few places we could find that had crumpets on the menu, I really, really wish they would bring them back.“

“Both the ladies in the Chrome Cafe was very professional, courteous, friendly, & with great attitude. And my order was done in a fast & timely manner that I didn't even get comfortable in my seat to wait for the order to be done. Will definitely come back to see them two again. “I want to give a shout out to Early Birds restaurant in West Des Moines. Kevin was a fantastic bartender. First time I have been here. The food was amazing. I love the atmosphere. The whole concept is great. The menu… too many things to choose from. I got the Cinnamon roll French toast. Delicious. And the Hashbrown holes delicious. It was great to get an appetizer before my French toast. I have to give a shout out to Kevin as he knows everything on the menu plus he has great suggestions for drinks from the bar! Will deffinately be going back again.“

“It's a Panera, on par with any other Panera. Good bagels, never had a bad drink from here, a little compact to fit a lot of seating but not claustrophobic. Can get a lot loud and might be difficult to hear when your order is called, but the pickup area is obvious and easy to check. Overall solid place and never had any issues.“

“My favorite place to hang out with a friend and grab healthy refreshments or a nice cup of kava. Great ambience, super high ceilings. The owners and the staff are really nice. Sometimes there can be a huge rush of people and they turn up the efficiency so words get concise, but they get the orders out as quickly as they can and that's all that really matters to me. My friends and are are usually catching up on our lives as we wait. Highly recommend if you're looking for a healthy spot to socialize, do some work or study for a class. I love this place as it was born as an extension of the top Natural Health clinic in the Des Moines area. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area. For all the haters on here... they probably needed more kava in them... it's from an herb that has helped many people calm their anxiety. Just ask the oceanic islanders who drink it before any type of mediation.“

“Typical Panera with the drive-through. The soup was good. I had the broccoli cheddar. They had good orange scones and I wasn’t able to eat my chicken salad sandwich but it looked great. Definitely come here again. It’s not right off the highway.“
