“It was our first visit and we were so happy we came. I had read good reviews so we stopped in for cocktails and appetizers. The owners are friendly and welcoming, just what you want in a neighborhood spot! Everything we ordered was excellent. We will be back!“
“I am writing this review from a personal and professional standpoint, as I have hosted a few work events at 28-Mile over the past year, and recently had my son's Bar Mitzvah party there. As a former event planner, and someone who plans numerous events for my job, I can honestly say that I have never encountered a more professional and accommodating staff. From the ownership, to the management, to the bar & waitstaff, and I have to mention the woman who tirelessly maintains the cleanliness of the venue, each and every one of them go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly for your event. Both of the recent events I hosted had elaborate set-ups, and the entire staff (even the owner!) helped make sure the space looked the best it possibly could. From my initial meetings with Mike the manager, to the walk thru/layout details of the space, and menu discussions, Mike gave me his undivided attention and great suggestions as to what would work best. He promptly answered any questions I had, and leading up to my events he could not have been more responsive, flexible and accommodating. This is not a venue that just wants your money, they truly care about their customers and strive to make sure that from start to finish everything goes well. From the laborious set-up to breakdown for both of my events they could not have been more helpful! We also got so many compliments on the food from our guests, their pizza is definitely some of the best on the North Shore! The bar staff is amazing and so efficient. Not only do they make awesome cocktails (their butterscotch bourbon was a crowd favorite), you also feel their genuine commitment to making sure that the event is a success. No matter what my request was of the management, or the bar or waitstaff, they made it happen with a smile on their faces. If a scenario is possible, they will do whatever they can to make your vision come to life.If you are considering having an event at 28-Mile do not hesitate, I promise you will not be disappointed. I am already thinking about other events I can plan there, especially when the weather gets warm so I can utilize their roof & patio. I could not possibly be more grateful to everyone at 28-Mile for helping to make my son's Bar Mitzvah party a night we will never forget!!!“
“This place is so cute inside! Very cute and cozy atmosphere but kind of small. Our waiter gave us a thorough run down of the menu with suggestions. I loved the spicy vodka pasta. My espresso martini was good but definitely strong. Burrata appetizer was good but a bit pricey for the amount. It was around $18 for the four small pieces of bread. Personally, a restaurant built on the premise of sharing smaller portions should have said smaller quantities at a cheaper price. The pizza was a unique combination of ingredients I haven't seen before but very good. Overall I hope this place thrives and I would like to come back!“
“Came in again to try out their pizza special. I got the 2 slices and a drink last time, and it was too much for me. Just got a slice of sausage, and my usual soda can. Place is usually nice and clean. Everyone is friendly and acknowledges you when you walk in. It was cooked nicely and great crust. It wasn't too hard or soft, but just the right amount of crunch. The best part is that it's not really greasy like others. Big plus in my book. I definitely would come back if I'm in the area. Perks of working out in the field and trying new places.“
“This is my first time eating here and I am not easily impressed but WOW absolutely everything that I ordered was AMAZING!! I got the elotes pizza, bulgogi tacos, and the loaded fries add chicken. Can't believe I've lived down the street from this place and never tried it until today. Great job guys! Definitely recommend!“
“(Northbrook Location) Extremely easy to place my order. The employee (Tony) I believe.. Who had taken my order 1/17/2024, was polite and detailed throughout the order process.. And when I arrived he continued to be Very Professional, Helpful & Welcoming to a new customer, “which he did not know I was”. This was our second time ordering, and were completely satisfied and everything came as ordered.. First time was a younger woman who took the order and she was friendly and easy to deal with as well.. I don’t recall her name (Sorry) or date I ordered. But it was about a week prior to my second order. Also shout out to the cooks and other employees who made this meal happen. A++ All Around.. so we thank you all. Including management who hired some great employees… We will definitely be ordering much more often.. Thanks Again to the Authority!! 5 Stars All Around..Steve @ Hawthorne Global“
“Wow, what delicious tavern style, cracker crust pizza! Haven't eaten pizza that good since I lived on the northwest side of Chicago. The restaurant is a throw back in time. The boothes are very small...when people were smaller, I guess. I was even impressed by the busser. He was running around non stop and did a great job. The place gives off a very good vibe and worth a visit.“
“Judy’s pizza is one of my favorites on the North Shore. Not only do they have quality ingredients and great food, they do so much to support our local community. We are lucky to have them in Highland Park. If you want consistent, good quality food, definitely try Judy’s.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian and even a vegan pizza option!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free pizzas are very good. Also have dairy-free optionsParking: Easy parkingKid-friendliness: Kid friendly options and even a make your own pizza“
“On line doesn't allow for 1/2 cheese only side plain ingredient pizza orders.Try calling to leave a message before store opens about on line pizza order, can't be done. Can't change delivery time on line, just stuck on 11AM, need at noon..frustration.“
“My nephew is friends with the owner and loves their food and wanted me to try it and I have to say I was very impressed. The chicken Parmesan was top-notch and the garlic rolls with the garlic inside delicious and prices that you can’t beat!“
“I stopped in for lunch and had a carne asada Burrito. It had fresh ingredients and was good. This was my second visit to the place. The service was good. Order at the counter, take a seat and then your food is prepared and brought out to you.“
“I’m so happy that i discovered this location!Ordered Margherita Pizza, Vodka Cream Pasta.Pizza Margherita Pizza is really high quality, the mozzarella has amazing texture and light oil. Also came out fresh, warm, and quick! But the PASTA IS A MUST MUST TRYVodka Pasta was perfectly boiled and the cream was rich and savory. They top it with parmesan and parsley. Surprised to experience an amazing quality Italian cuisine in the suburbs. 1000% City Quality in Lincolnshire!“
“My work team and I went to Union Ale House to take part in their Wednesday night trivia competition. We had a fun time. There is something on the menu for everyone and lots of drink choices too. The food was tasty. Service was good, which for a group of our size was impressive. The only two criticisms I had were that the bathroom could use improvement and the parking lot needs help. Not enough spaces to park and I parked by a very scary looking ditch. We'd definitely go back again.“
“Just wanted to have a delicious special birthday party and we got it thank to the best in town, Fausto's Kitchen! Seafood dishes were majestic, aesthetic excellent and at the end everything was like enjoying a magical journey through a universe of unique wonderful tastes.Thank you Fausto's Italian Kitchen for such a great day!“
“We went there 45 minutes before closing but they were still so kind to accommodate us ordering a deep dish (which takes 40 minutes to make). The gentlemen working were incredibly kind and made delicious food!! The deep dish was amazing, and despite it being primarily a carry out location, I would go to this location again 100% over others. They're awesome!!!!“
“We picked up our first pizza from Pizza Pavia tonight. The phone staff was friendly and efficient. We arrived early and had a beer at the bar. We only hope that they put in draft beers soon rather than only bottled beers. It looked like they had a nice selection of wine and seltzers too. The bar staff was friendly and helpful. We took our pizza home and ate it. It was absolutely delicious! It reminded us of little Italian in Buffalo Grove that closed years ago. Thin and crispy with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. We will definitely order from Pizza Pavia again and again.“
“Thin crust was comparable to other popular franchise pizza places but for a fraction of the price. One topping sausage was amazing; their sausage is better than most that I’ve tried! Friendly staff on the phone and pick up, pizza was ready on time and steaming hot. This is a great local business to support!“
“ARE YOU KIDDING ME? AMAZING!!! I'm originally from Philadelphia and moved to the Midwest. Come to Chicago for school and I was so relieved when I trusted my gut instincts and my heart led me to do business here at Penguino's. I use to work for one of the busiest Italian pizzarias/restaurants in eastern Philadelphia and we were very focused on quality so proudly say that THIS PIZZA IS Aesthetically pleasing and has the rich bold flavors of fine pizza as well as good balance to thr ingredients in his dough. The cook is Perfecto! The portions are BIG. I will spend my money here any day of the week. The owner was also very very nice and professional. 6 stars if I could.. don't let the small building fool you, this is where to go!“
“One of my all time favorite oldschool family owned places ,same recipe since day 1 in 1966! The very best thin crust in the Northwest Suburbs for sure ! Their homemade meatballs are amazing , add some to Manicotti or try Meatball Mushroom pizza for major “
“I always like to try local pizza places. The pizza taste and fresh ingredients were some of the best I ever had. I got 2 large 2-topping thin crust and 1 large 4-topping deep dish pizzas, plus a 2-liter pop. The price was $67. It would have cost about $120 for the same thing at Lou Malnati’s or Giordano’s - and I honestly think Pizza Italia was much better!“
“The staff was very friendly and did a nice job. The pizza in comparison to others that I've had in the area was just solid. It was flavorful and good, but not the best in the area. I would definitely go back to this place for a nice meal on occasion.“
“Love their pizza's. Always done to perfection. Great toppings and no matter how busy they are the pizza is always ready within 30 minutes. The staff is courteous and friendly. If you want a fantastic pizza go to Nino's. They have never let me downSteveParking: Large parking lot and easy access to main road“
“Dinner at Lou's is always great! Big parking lot so no worries about finding a spot. Call ahead and make a reservation and we like to sit in the main dining room. Ask for it. Great memorabilia on the walls and all around. Be sure to check out the old Comisky Park stadium seats as you walk in. Service was particularly great last night with a super sweet young lady giving us fantastic service. Get an appetizer because the pizza takes 30 minutes. Good beer selection and cocktails too.“
“The food here is AMAZING! It’s an excellent place to try something new or familiar but with an elevated taste. Plus it’s Vegetarian friendly!Vegetarian options: Every burger on the menu is able to be substituted for either a mushroom burger OR an impossible burger. They’re both delicious.“
“Great pizza, maybe the best in the area. But they really need to figure out logistics. They always seem to need several hours' lead time on preparing a pizza. If you call them at 4:30 pm, good luck getting something before 7:00. Seems like they need to expand to get more oven space. I'd eat there more often, but I'm not always thinking about dinner at 1:00 in the afternoon and most of the time I call, it's too long of a wait before anything can be ready.“
“I love deep dish pizza and I love tavern style pizza. Marisa's pizza is somewhere in between. I ordered a large sausage pizza and requested the pizza to be sliced like a pie. What I ended up with is a pizza similar to New York style pizza except Marisa's pizza wasn't as soggy as New York style pizza. Overall, I think that it is a great pizza. I enjoyed the thickness of the crust and the cheese wasn't greasy. I noticed that they also sell pizza by the slice and they do not just sell them during lunch hours. My entire family enjoyed the pizza so we will definitely order from Marisa's again.“
“Great food, good service, and a classic Italian restaurant atmosphere. We've eaten at Nancy's twice and have ordered thin crust pizza and lasagna so far. Both are delicious and you really can't go wrong either way. We specifically ordered the four cheese pizza. The pizza is thin crust, but not a cracker crust. The combination of the cheeses is amazing and it was different (in a good way) having ricotta on a pizza. The lasagna was so comforting and good. Perfect meat to sauce to cheese to pasta ratio. We also got bread sticks and salad with our lasagna and even those were really good. The salad ingredients were very fresh.“
“Garibaldi's is not my go to pizza place, but there are times when I get a hankering for their Pizza and it hit's the spot every time. The product is very consistent, the slices are huge. I remember when it was in Town and Country Mall back in the day and they had a guy tossing dough, it was pretty cool. I kinda miss that old mall. Anyway, yes, I recommend this place.“
“I’m not big on reviews, but these guys absolutely deserve one. I would post a picture of the food but I ate it too fast before writing this. Their tortas are not on the list to review, but they’re low-key a “hidden gem” here. By hidden I mean they’re on the back page of the menu but if you choose to get them, you will not be disappointed. They’re loaded to the brim, packed with flavor, and the bread is crispy and everything you want out of your torta filling holder. I’ll be trying their pizza next, as the single slices were top tier. They seem like super genuine people who care about their customers and I can’t recommend stopping by for a bite enough.“
“This place is a gem.The pizza blew our expectations away. We’ve had the regular style pizza, and can’t get enough of the Detroit style, but I bet you didn’t even think I would rave about their ribs!Honestly, I think their St. Louis style ribs are as good or better than Carson’s. I can’t think of another place I’d be excited to get ribs than at Joanie’s.We’ve been repeat customers since we’ve discovered the place, and expect to frequent the restaurant.I can’t wait to try more of their menu too!“
“We are very particular about our pizzas and Northshore Pizza was exceptional! We ordered the stuffed pizza and wouldn't change a thing. -The crust is flavorful with a slightly crisp bottom ....perfect platform for the generous amount of cheese on top. The tangy sauce is delicious and brings the pizza to life. Even the customer service is great! These guys know what there doing! Definitely our new go-to.“
“Hitz is a wonderful local sports pub with quality food, lots of options, friendly service, plenty of screens for sports, and a great atmosphere welcoming friends, family, teams, and everyone in between! So let's talk about the food: in a word, everything we've had has been good. The pizza is fabulous, burgers are good, chicken sandwiches, good food all around. They have this spud deal where you can add whatever toppings you want. I love this! A ginormous potato, ground beef, cheese, bacon, peppers, and a crap-ton of black olives - delicious! And let's not forget the amazing beer nuggets appetizer - oh man! Major yum factor. My wife and I always start with these. And let's not forget the service. While we do frequent this sports bar on a fairly regular basis, it's not so frequent where they would remember our names, but they do and always say hello and stop by to chat with us. Hitz is my happy place.“
“We were staying at the best Western yesterday right next to North Branch, so we decided to stop by and have dinner. I would definitely recommend their deep dish pizza. It was huge. I could only eat 2 slices! We took the rest back to our hotel room. But their pizza was so good and delicious! We also got their cheese curds as an appetizer and those were also delicious. It was really crowded on a Saturday night, but they managed to seat us really quick.“
“My family and a couple of my sons hockey team members needed a quick food spot by the local Northbrook rink. Couple doors down from Pure Hockey too, bonus. Food was fantastic, lots of different options and had TVs to watch sports. Quick and easy. Menu was huge from Pizza, sandwiches/subs, salads, pasta and desserts. Staff was nice too. Would highly recommend.“
“Great last minute meet up spot!!! I ordered one of my favorite signature cocktails ?…a more perfect GIN martini ?….I was personally served and delightfully impressed with the owner of STORMY’s… maybe ? it was the great company I met up with there… I had a pizza! Great!!! I would say if you’re ever in this neck of woods… drop in and stay a while!!! ????????“
“Excellent food and service. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Food came out at a decent pace considering the place was full. Quality of the food was amazing as well. Key lime pie was the kicker to the meal. Not a slice, it's a big mini pie. Super delicious. Only complaint is that the crust is a little thick. Could be a little thinner. Will definitely be back!!“
“The pizza here is great- you actually get a pretty large pizza even when you order smaller sizes. I like to order from here when I am having a large gathering. Every time I've ordered, the food has been very tasty and well done- the wings and sandwiches are also very good. The deliveries also come quickly and they prepare the food fast, even on Friday nights and weekends.“
“I've been ordering from this place for over 15 years and have yet to be disappointed with the food. Only constant issue, which really isn't that big of a deal since I would take my food home to eat, but every time I ordered potato skins the sour cream is always left out. So if your ordering to take to a park or outside, not eat at home, don't forget to check for the sour cream. ?“
“First time at Chief's Pub. I'm not really a sports fan, although I do jump on the bandwagon if there's a large event. Not sure why there were so many people in here on a Monday night, some college hoops from small schools, Daytona 500 on the big screens, until we were leaving and all the jumbo screens turned to the Hawks and the noise level noticeably increased. Decent selection of bar food offerings, sandwiches, burgers and wraps. We split the loaded tots and that was really good--it was certainly loaded with toppings--cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños and bacon (maybe cilantro). I ordered the mini sliders -- there were three of these but I could only finish one -- and I would definitely split these if I came back. My friend had a black and blue salad and they said the steak was good. There's nothing fancy here and that's ok. Sports banners and memorabilia abounds, half of the room is the bar area with high tops and there's a divider and on the other side are tables and booths. The patrons were split between those congregating at the bar and families and couples at the low tops digging in. Staff, servers, host---everyone was pretty friendly and lowkey.“
“Really tasty. Got a pan crust sausage, onion and giardiniera. Cooked to perfection. Wife kept stealing my crust because it was so good (she got the chopped salad. It was huge and delicious). We came in with a bunch of rowdy 10yr old boys after a soccer game and pretty much took the place over. They were very patient and accommodating. The kids really enjoyed their thin crust cheese, too! We will definitely be back.“
“Just tried their lunch combo yesterday and it was such a great deal!! Two square slices of pizza and a bottle of soda for $9 and some change! The choices are: cheese, pepperoni, or sausage. The crust is crispy on the bottom and soft and fluffy on the inside! Sauce tastes great too!I’ll be coming back when I come back into town for business!“
“This past December marked the very 1st time trying a Slyce location. I'm aware of the Wauconda location which has been around for a few years now but just never got around to trying. Was actually quite impressed with the quality of food here. Most "fast-fired" pizza venues I've been to typically are good but this place definitely screams high-end compared to the likes of Blaze, MOD, Pie Five, etc.The pizza is really good here and the prices seem reasonable despite the rise in cost dating back to the spring of 2020. Dining room is kept squeaky clean and the service reigns supreme. If ever in the mood for pizza when in the area which is easily at least one day every other weekend I'm in Vernon Hills, I know where to go.“
“A Slice of Heaven in Lake Bluff! As a pizza aficionado, Silos Pizza in Lake Bluff has stolen a pizza-shaped piece of my heart! This cozy establishment has quickly become my number one go-to for a scrumptious pizza fix in Illinois. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality from the incredible staff. Their genuine friendliness adds an extra layer of delight to the dining experience. The atmosphere at Silos Pizza is simply inviting. Whether you're dining solo, with friends, or with family, the ambiance makes you feel right at home. It's the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy good company, and savor every bite of your pizza. And let's talk about the food! Oh my, where do I even begin? The pizzas at Silos are nothing short of spectacular. Each slice is a heavenly combination of fresh ingredients, perfectly baked crust, and mouthwatering cheese. Every bite is a flavor explosion that will leave you craving more. If you're in Illinois, Silos Pizza in Lake Bluff is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and indulge in the deliciousness that Silos Pizza has to offer. You'll thank me later!“
“Always the best, fast good food and the staff rocks it!!!Vegetarian options: A switch or two and it’s vegan or vegetarian and they totally don’t mind theyCare more to make you happy’!!!Dietary restrictions: Vegans at the shop and the pasta is perfect salads as well!!!“
“After reading about their pizza, we wanted to give it a go. We found a Barnaby's on our vacation route and it was an experience.Parking was easy. The parking lot was large. Spaces are actually big enough and the parking lot is easy to navigate. We walked in and had no clue what we were doing but we quickly figured it out. There's a drink counter to the left. Order your drinks and have a seat. You can get pitchers of water and soda as well. They also have bottled root beer! To the left of the drink counter and down the hallway are the restrooms. The next counter over is the "sandwich counter" which is where all the items besides pizzas are called to be picked up.Next to that is where you order and pay. And to the right of there is the pizza pick up.If you need plates, forks, etc. you can run up and grab them. And they have someone bussing tables so when you're done you leave everything. The pizza was different than we're used to. The sauce flavor was good. I knew this was thin crust pizza and I love thin crust so I wanted to try it. This was unlike any thin crust I've ever had. Much harder. Little to no flavor in the crust. It's difficult to explain. It was a fun experience and we would definitely try other things if we were in the area again.“
“Alrighty than... I have been ordering my deep dish from Lou's for over 22 yrs. If you love it you stick to it correct? Thought I would try Rosati's for a change and ohh my... glad I did.Lots of toppings...fantastic tomatoes..perfectly done...taste was spot on...some of the best I have had. Knowing I have had over 400 in the last 20 yrs or so. I always thought they were a secondary pizza place for me & my friends. I WAS WRONG !LOVED IT AND WILL ORDER AGAIN SOON. NOUF SAID ...hold on one more thing it was GREAT DEEP DISH ! ! ! ( No I have not been drinking)“
“This was my wife and I first time at Lino's although we have heard about it for years. It was great! Cleanliness was. Thee first thing we noticed. Second, the service was great. Food and drinks were very good. We enjoyed our time at Linos and we will be back.“
“Once you have had a slice at SLYCE, all other pizzas seem not good enough. Highly recommend adding the sausage, Caribbean chili, roasted garlic, chili oil (if you can handle some spice) as toppings if you are going for a custom pizza!Would recommend eating at the restaurants vs take out for the ambience and while the crust is warm.“
“This family-owned and run take-out restaurant never fails to impress and is our family's go-to for top notch deep dish pizza. We won't order anywhere else in the Chicagoland area for deep dish as nothing compares even remotely when it comes to flavor, quality, and very fair pricing. Thank you, Goode & Fresh, for providing consistently amazing food for our family and friends. Your business deserves more attention!“
“1st time here. Visiting from GA. Not disappointed one bit. Kids and hubby raved. For me the wings was very flavorful but could be a little juicer, but it was seasoned to the bone. Mozzarella was perfect. Didn't take piks of sticks or wings cus I forgot and starving. Pizza was 7/10 for me. Hubby says it was 8.5/10. Again, not disappointed at all. We will be back before we depart Chi town!“
