“I had an outstanding experience at the Goose Island Tap Room. The atmosphere was welcoming, the beer selection was excellent, and the overall vibe made for a great time. What truly set this visit apart was the exceptional customer service provided by Brian Freeman.
Brian went above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable. He was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about providing top-tier service. He took the time to answer questions, make recommendations, and make us feel valued as guests.
It's rare to find someone who combines professionalism with such a personable approach, and Brian absolutely delivered. Because of his outstanding hospitality, I'll definitely be returning and recommending Goose Island Tap Room to friends and family.
Thank you, Brian, and the entire Goose Island Tap Room team for a fantastic experience!“

“Great food and love the booth“
“Great experience and delicious beer! The service was exceptional, friendly and fast. Come here if you like IPAs but they have a little bit for everyone, their specialty is IPAs though. Their own hop water is good if you want an NA option. Good seating indoor and out, also have a to go room with merch. Absolutely loved their beer and highly recommend a visit! Very impressed and can't wait to go back!!“
“Busy brewery somewhat off the beaten path. I had not had a chance to make out here previously but specifically made the trip. Busy dog and kid family brewery, the neighborhood seemed to be out to enjoy themselves on an early weekend evening. We found room at the bar and had a couple of drinks. I enjoyed the pils and lager I had. Both were clean and easily drinkable. It was fairly loud with dogs and families but we were still able to converse comfortably. Staff was friendly and attentive.“
“The taproom itself was really spacious and had a relaxed atmosphere 🍺, although parking was pretty limited which made arriving a bit inconvenient 🚗 On a Friday night I expected it to be much busier, but surprisingly it was fairly quiet. One thing that stood out was an off-duty employee who seemed to have endless opinions about everything and talked nonstop 😅 Since he spent so much time chatting with the bartenders, the service ended up being slower than expected. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of most of the beers, but I did appreciate that they offered flights and smaller pours so you could sample different options before deciding 🍻 I still ended up grabbing a few cans to go and enjoyed trying something new 👍“
“2026 Chicago Brewery Journey – Fourth Stop
Stopped by Maplewood Brewery & Distillery and it’s clear right away this place is popular—very lively with a strong crowd and a great energy throughout. The beer selection is extensive, so there’s plenty to choose from.
One interesting note—the space had a noticeable coffee aroma. Not a bad smell by any means, but a little unexpected when you’re there for beer.
Overall, a fun and energetic stop with a lot to offer.“

“Came here for a birthday party. I guess you can rent space for a private event. There was plenty of seating - both tables with chairs and high tables where you stand. It's a cozy neighborhood bar. Outside seating was still available for the public to use. The collection of beer was pretty good. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They make pretty thin crust pizzas.“
“The ambiance, friendly atmosphere, quirky and yet comfortable vibe as well as absolutely exceptional beers. From porters, sours and mixed drinks… sets the standard of what kind of brewery I want to be at.“
“Friendly and helpful staff“
“I have definitely had some less-than-stellar microbrewery experiences but this was NOT one of them. 100% success rate on the interesting and completely exceptional beer here. Solar flare, Portage Pils, Ridiculousness. Coming from THE Bier Capital of the planet, completely comfortable recommending this small business to do business with. Very good Bier indeed.“
“Great beers Great atmosphere. Friendly staff!!“
“Attended an event here! The staff were incredible, clean and accessible. Kid and dog friendly! We had a fabulous time and can't wait to return for another event! Thanks for everything!“
“Suncatcher is The Place To Be.
Everyone working is friendly and knowledgeable. As a neighbor, I’m happy to have them. It’s a great gathering place to see a few friends, or a sunny time to spend by yourself.
As a beer drinker, I’m pleased at what Chicago has to offer and Suncatcher is in my top 3.
As a hoosier at heart, I love that they use Indiana malt.
Rog is the man.“
“Kinslahger is like no other bar place / bar / local in the area. The lack of TV forces you to engage in conversation, and the staff are particularly helpful in steering patrons to choices they might not think of originally but end up appreciating. They’re a one-of-a-kind establishment with a one-of-a-kind staff, and you won’t be disappointed in your visit.“
“Hopewell has such a cute vibe! I loved the fact that they had a large selection of games for passing your time there as you enjoy the beer. The Lil Buddy was perfect. Just a little something. They also had super friendly bartender who was kind enough to give me a few stickers. I collect enamel pins, so was glad to buy one of those from the merch.“

“Yummy beer, welcoming atmosphere!“
“I was in town visiting a friend of mine for the first time and he recommended this spot. We were warmly greeted by the owner, who showed us the beer menu and we were able to sit wherever we wanted. Thankfully the weather was nice enough for us to enjoy sitting outside on the patio. I tried a guest beer and a house crafted one and I must say they were both pretty good! I also treated me and my friend to some breadsticks and I super recommend them! The flavor and the crunch was perfect.
Honestly I couldn't have had a better time and you all should consider stopping by and enjoying the vibe and the beer. You won't be disappointed by the relaxed and fun atmosphere that has been created by the owner!“

“A delightful space with many beers“
“Big fan of this space. The interior is beautifully designed. The restroom alone is inspiration for my own restroom remodel at home. I love the deep green tile and warm up lighting from the wooden sconces. The rest interior is nicely appointed as well, live plants adorn the windows, sandal wood burned for a pleasing aroma from time to time, great atmospheric jazz music. Attention to detail is there.
Izzy was a fantastic host; knowledgeable, hospitable, kind and welcoming. We had a few beers, loved the cardamom infused beer. No complaints at all.
They had a selection of other eclectic consumables. From vintage playboy magazines, to high end Portuguese tinned fish, to craft soda, THC beverages and top notch beers with unique combinations and incredible depth of flavor, this place has it all.
It was a little less busy than I would have liked, as it is an incredible experience, I hope business is good overall and that they will be a fixture in the neighborhood and community for many years to come!“
“2026 Chicago Brewery Journey – Second Stop.
Stopped by Lake Effect Brewery as part of my Chicago brewery journey. They have a nice space with plenty of room, and you can tell they’re just getting started.
The beer selection is pretty limited at the moment, and I was hoping to find a solid IPA—which is something currently missing from the lineup.
That said, every brewery has to start somewhere, and there’s definitely potential here. I’d be interested in coming back down the road to see how things develop.“
“Great beers. Great service and friendly, knowledgeable staff at Dovetail.“
“Great service and fun atmosphere!“
“We stopped by on Thursday night and fell in love with the raw, industrial vibe and the staff’s quick banter. I tried the new Barrel‑Aged Orin, a punchy brown ale that had a smoky finish, while the bartender recommended a fresh batch of Daisy Cutter IPA that hit the sweet spot between hop and malt. Prices were fair, the seating was comfy, and the food—especially the rosemary‑oiled fries—cut the whole experience up perfectly.“
“I just saw the way Off Color Brewing took care of a family of ducks and I think that a staff who would go completely out of their way to help the wildlife in their area survive should be commended to the fullest. Thank you for being such wonderful humans!!!“
“Definition of a vibe. I've never been. craft beer guy but Monochrome offers a variety options to fit any preferred palate. The service is top tier and the atmosphere is perfect. The owner(s) are really cool down to earth. The one bald portly bartender is a blast“
“We had a great time at this family-friendly brewery! The atmosphere was relaxed, and there was plenty of outdoor seating where the kids could play while we enjoyed some delicious craft beer.
They even had board games and kid-friendly, which made it easy for everyone to have fun. A perfect spot to unwind and enjoy quality time together. We'll definitely be back!“
“I'm from out of town, and had some great beer! Definitely would come back.“
“We hosted a partner happy hour and had a great experience. Worked with Colleen to organize and plan — she was responsive and easy to work with. Unfortunately a last minute storm forced us to move inside but we had a great set up. It’s a beautiful venue with great beer and food. Highly recommend for your next outing!!“

“Brought my kids to a concert there and the customer service was amazing. They were very accommodating and helpful with the kids. On top of that our food was delicious. Even my pickiest eater ate their fill. We had a blast! Thank you guys so much! 🫶🏽🫶🏽“
“No bowling lanes here! Google summary is wrong. They used to have it at their old stand alone location, but when they moved into District Brew Yards that no longer exists. If google allowed edits or comments like that, I'd do it... but they don't.. so i have to leave a review. sigh.“
“The staff is full of chill people who are smart and ready to hang. They also host cool events every month... but I might be a bit bias as one of their event producers 🤗“

“Awesome other half brewery taproom and restaurant. Good choice of beers on tap and loads of cans in the fridge. Didn't have food but lots of it was coming out and looked good. Had a chat with the owners, all very friendly and so were staff. Its a bit out from downtown chicago, but you can get the number 8 bus for £2 and it stops 100 meters from bar ( see photo )“
“One of the best local breweries around the area, all of the workers are amazing who work behind the bar. Besides serving great quality beer, they also have some amazing mixed drinks and specials made by Kristen every week. Highly recommend this place“

“Crust Brewing is a great neighborhood spot. I mostly go for their selection of beer, but I come back for the conversation. The staff is very friendly, we always end up staying longer than planned when Angie is behind the bar lol. They claim their pizza is the best but I’d tell you to get the Smash Burger. Definitely worth stopping in, tell Angie hello!“

“One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. A great selection of microbrews - everything from lagers to IPAs to porters to excellent NA beers. Not to mention - tremendous food. Have been several times but came for $1 wing night (went with lemon pepper butter) and had an excellent experience. Highly recommend!“
“Great burgers, cold beer !“
“They've got something for everybody, for every palette. Lately, my favorite brewery.“
“Some friends and I came in just before one of their private events. Rather than turn us away, they very graciously helped us pick out various drinks to go. Super friendly folks just genuinely excited about their craft. And the mead was absolutely delicious!“

“We tried Pho no. 1 Brewing tonight and we were really happy with it! We’ll be back again for sure! The Pho was a little sweeter than I expected, but it was my first time having it so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The beef skewers, egg rolls, and wings were amazing. All four of us left full and happy! Definitely recommend!“

“Haymarket is a pub on W. Randolph Street that we recently stopped by while waiting for our table at Au Cheval across the street to become available. They have a good sized indoor seating area as well as a few tables near the bar. Several tellies behind the bar showing sports games. Drink list includes a good selection of handcraft beers. We enjoyed a porter and blond that both pretty good, easy to enjoy while watching a bit of baseball and basketball on the evening. Would be happy to pop back in for another round if in the area if in the area again.“

“This Bar and Pizzeria had been on my radar prior to leaving the UK, for a short break to Chicago to watch AC/DC. Kev and I weren't disappointed! Great hospitality, a wide selection of beers made on site and a 'cup and char' pizza to die for. Topped off with hot honey, it's one of the best pizzas I've tried. The 'Tommy o two legs' was my beer of choice with most having quirky names inspired by the friendly staff. A great location to visit and one that will be fondly remembered. Keep doing what you do and thanks for the stickers! Cheers Rod & Kev 🇬🇧“
