Now, I have had Guinness all over the Chicago area and never has a Chicago pint ever approached the magical, otherworldly flavor of a pint consumed in Ireland. I don't know if it's the water, the proximity to the brewery or just some kind of strange magic that happens to Guinness in Ireland, but I've never had better. That all changed when I drank that first pint at Irish Times. It was easily the best pint of Guinness I've had outside the Emerald Isle. I've since left the area and have had pints all over the United States and Canada. Nothing has approached the quality, freshness and taste of the Guinness at Irish Times in Brookfield. If you are lucky enough to be nearby, don't hesitate to make a detour to the pub. You will not regret it.“

“Just called a few minutes ago at 8:52pm. They close at 9. I live a 3-minute walk away. The associate who answered the phone answered with, "Thanks for calling Paisans, we are now closed." I said, "Oh, what time did you close today?" They said, "9'o'clock." I asked, "Well, can I pick up two slices to go?" knowing they'd only have to reheat them and that I'd get there a few minutes before they closed. I work in a restaurant on the same block and know how it is to get a last-minute order before close, was trying to make it easy. The associate responded in a sarcastic tone, "No, we're sold out of slices, sorry." Immediately there was a burst of laughter from other employees in the background and then they hung up the phone before I could respond. I get it, 'fuck me' for trying to order last minute, but if it's a feasible order that doesn't take any real preparation and you're already telling people you're closed before you actually are, then ["F"ill in the blank]. Atop that, making jokes to deny service and gratify staff. Its dumb and pedantic infantile behavior that's only self-serving.“

No obstante, a las 9:30 pm ya se estaba anunciando el "último llamado" para bebidas alcohólicas. Además, durante mi estancia, fui testigo de cómo dos familias fueron rechazadas para cenar por el mismo motivo: el restaurante estaba cerrando antes de tiempo debido a "la falta de clientes". Entiendo que puedan surgir situaciones operativas, pero considero que este tipo de decisiones impacta negativamente en la experiencia de sus clientes. Cuando se anuncia un horario de cierre, los clientes planeamos nuestras visitas en base a esa información. De no ser posible mantener el horario anunciado, sería más transparente ajustarlo oficialmente en sus plataformas para que las personas puedan planear con anticipación y, en caso necesario, optar por otras opciones. Por último, quiero mencionar que esta inconformidad fue compartida con nuestra mesera, quien nos escuchó con amabilidad. Sin embargo, creo que esta situación requiere un ajuste desde la gerencia para evitar malentendidos en el futuro. “We’ve been to Buona Terra several times and our experiences have been great. So it made sense to host a party there. We hosted my 60th birthday party at Buona Terra in late April 2024. What made Buona Terra so appealing to us was we could have the entire restaurant to ourselves and the food, of course!Planning the party was so easy with the help of the owner, Eileen. Eileen was helpful and accommodating and walked us through every step from the menu, bar options and different seating options. She emailed sample bar packages and sample lunch and dinner packages. She also said we could create our own menu which was exciting for us. We decided on Caesar Salad, Pasta di la Nona, Chicken Piccata and Tiramisu. When we arrived for the party Eileen had the room set up perfectly for our party of 35. And the weather was so nice she opened the front patio windows. Everyone had a great time! The food was delicious and the staff friendly. Our family and friends all remarked how great everything was and that they’ll all be back, including the Italians;)“

From what I recall, this breaded steak sandwich is just about as tasty as I have had since Ricobenes. Tony’s is excellent and messy as I have expected. Its very filling and well worth the price.

Also tried their italian beef, which was very good indeed. Balanced spices and saltiness was all there!!! But I do have my favorites that I lean on when I really need a fixin!!! But this was very good nonetheless.

This neighborhood joint is small and has limited seating, but the friendly staff made the dine-in meal a pleasant experience, albeit a bit confined. Most patrons order take-away. Will try to make it out again next time I am in the Midway area.“

“Hi View will always hold a special place in my heart. My husband has been taking me here for nearly 10 years, and he has been going since long before that. I’ve never had a dish here I don’t like. My favorite things from here are the soups (specifically the cream of chicken rice and French Onion) and the chopped steak breakfast with chocolate chip pancakes. Their pancakes are the BEST ever and I swear by that.
The servers are extremely kind and always interact with regulars. When I was on a liquid diet prior to and after abdominal surgery, they were kind enough to strain soups for me so I could still have something to enjoy. They take care of you like family and that’s why I’ll always support Hi View.
