“The pot roast sandwich was incredible - juicy, tender, delicious. It tasted to me like the meat was smoked before it was braised? I’ve never had pot roast this good before.

The place was about half empty while we were there and was quiet enough for comfortable conversation. There’s sports memorabilia all around, so a good Chicago vibe.

Our server seemed to have a lot of tables, or maybe she lost track of time doing closing work, because it took a very long time to get the check.“

“Limited menu done right. Portions are small but prepared with care. Always consistent. Shy away from the calamari friti. I’ve had it a few times and hoped it would get better . Barely any shrimp the “ piece. Contained are small and few as is the actual squid. Loaded with veggies instead. Not a value or good choice! The twin medallions of beef are delicious but not substantial. The white fish is the best dish on the mine!“

“we had a wonderful dinner last night! my husband is British and my actor sons were in town from LA filming a movie in Downers Grove, so we decided to give Balmoral a try. And what a wonderful family dinner we had. The menu not only describes the food, there were historical stories added which made it even more charming. From the bone china, the murals and of course the food-- it was perfect. we will be back!“

“What an outstanding Restaurant! I had my daughter's bridal shower at Mio Modo and Michael, the Manager, took care of every detail that I was looking for. The food was excellent, from the appetizer-Calamari to the main meal-Pollo al Limone and Vodka Pasta, to the dessert Tiramisu!! So delicious!! The staff was very attentive and professional. We will definitely be visiting Mio Modo again. Thank you for a delightful experience!“

I went here recently with my mom who needed accommodations due to recent surgeries and they went above and beyond making her feel welcome even when she wasn't quite confident dining out yet. They were SO accommodating with the menu and made us feel right at home. The hostess was so sweet; we were so appreciative! & the food was delicious! I loved my chicken kebabs and we both loved the lemon chicken soup! Plus the lunch specials are huge portions at such a fair price! We will definitely be returning!“

“Riverlands just keeps getting better every time I visit! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They’re always happy to help you find the perfect beer or seltzer, whether you know exactly what you want or just want to try something new.
The selection is fantastic, with a great variety of beers and seltzers that truly offer something for everyone. Sours are my absolute favorite. Plus, I'm always excited for their rotating Tiki Time drinks during the summer!
The food trucks are always delicious and add a fun, fresh element when onsite.
The outdoor (and pet-friendly) patio is yet another highlight. It’s clear they continue to invest in making the space even better each year. It’s such a great spot to relax, hang out with friends, and enjoy a drink (or two).
Riverlands is easily my favorite local spot. Highly recommend giving this place a try and hopefully it'll become your new favorite, too!“

“Fantastic breakfast at Benedict’s Eggs and More! I had the biscuits and gravy and pot roast skillet - and both were to die for! Biscuits seem to be homemade along with the gravy and it was so tasty. Loved the pot roast as well on the skillet. It was tender! Service was incredible from beginning to end - always felt like I had enough coffee and made sure the experience was excellent from beginning to end. Definitely coming back here soon to try more!“

“We went to Woodfire for my birthday. The food and service is excellent. Vicki was our server and she was very friendly and attentive. The food is so fresh and homemade. The pizza crust is crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. There is an assortment of types of pizza, but the cheese pizza is the best I’ve ever had. The pasta is rich and delicious. It’s cooked perfectly and the vodka sauce is amazing. The appetizers, home brewed beer, and desserts are phenomenal too. Step aside Coopers Hawk, I have a new favorite restaurant!“

“It’s delicious. Batavia is really lucky to have this place. This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. I suppose I haven’t been to El taco grande in a long time but El Sazon is for sure legit. Likely better than any place you’ll find in Geneva or Saint Charles.

I got the steak burrito and came out pretty quick. It was delicious with the rice and beans.

I got the Jamaican water as a part of the meal combo and that was also very tasty. Just a hair on the sweet side for me, but it was still very nice and refreshing.

This place is delicious. The cost is close to what you would pay at McDonald’s for a meal and better quality for sure.“

“Loved everything about our visit to Penrose Brewing. The beer selection was fantastic, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable to chat with.

“Such a great pub venue. Our server, Tyler, went out of his way to welcome us. The menu is extensive. The beer list has both rotating taps and craft beer options. They offer cocktails, spirits and wine as well as N/A options. The food is outstanding. I had the ginormous wings. Others ordered mini burger sliders and Etouffe. Both liked there dishes. This is a place we will go back to. We watched the World Cup soccer game without feeling bombarded by TVs.“

“Service was awful! Our server, Joselyn, slammed down the glasses of water 5 minutes after we were seated, took our order and never saw her again until she slammed the bill down at our table. We saw her for a total of 3 minutes in the 45 minutes we were there. Unfortunately for Joselyn, her tip reflected her poor service. I tip 20-25% for good service, she lost out and made the restaurant less desirable to return. However, the burger was juicy and delicious, the macaroni and cheese was outstanding!“
