“Glad to have Dogfather back, and pleased to see the spirit of the original place is alive and well. The food is good, and many of the menu additions sound delicious.

The beef and hot dogs are as good as ever, and the addition of tater tots is great (a nice alternative to fries).

One minor complaint - the chicken pita (my goto order) is very tasty but seems a little smaller than I remember — and a little pricey at $7. Nothing that would stop me from coming back, but not quite the same value.“

“The service can be iffy, sometimes swaying from great customer service to mediocre, atmosphere can sometimes look a little dirty. Aside from that, those are my only gripes with the restaurant! The donuts here are nothing short of exceptional. Light, fluffy, and never overly sweet, they strike the perfect balance of textures and flavors. you can count on consistently high-quality treats.

The donuts are made of small circular balls that can be pulled apart so you can try them all without having to cut them up.

The store is located inside H-marts food court, so there is plenty of space inside to dine-in.

The staff is very nice and seem to genuinely care about their products and service. While packing the dozen I bought, one flipped over on accident, something I wouldn't even notice because it's so minor, but the staff apologized and offered to replace it with another. You do not find that kind of service often.

“Ok, hear me out... this place looks a bit sketch at first glance but it's solid. Elevated food but naturally as usual and of course - YGWYPF. Stop reading here if you just want the brass tacks: yes they are open for business, and the food is amazing, but it's pricey.

If you love burgers then steady on... When I pulled up I saw a shuttered restaurant with weeds growing everywhere, construction debris but no construction happening (in August!?) a food truck parked out back and a hose line stung across the parking lot. Spidey senses are tingling but I persist because I'm on a mission and, being from the RGV, this didn't deter me.

Pulled up to the speaker - which gave no outward signs of being in service - and cranked the window down. The speaker dutifully spang to life and spoke unintelligibly but we got there. Pulled up to the window, paid with card, waited an eternity and then the girl hands me down a fat greasy brown paper bag that smells like all the contents of a short order planchard grill. A good sign to be sure but the proof is in the pudding.

Got back to the office and uncorked my prize: double meat double cheese burger, seasoned fries and a Diet Coke. Fries are tasty but a little off - not sure if they're frozen. Diet Coke is about par; better than the can but not much. Nasty cheap catsup boo!

Now let's talk about the burger. Better than Five Guys or SmashBurger. Equal to Shake Shack but MUCH bigger portions (yet still somehow cheaper). Leaves the In-N-Out in its dust. It's a smash style patty with crispy edges and drippings - but they actually season the patty, the beef was high quality and fresh (i.e., never frozen). Bun is ok, not great not terrible. Fresh veg prepared perfectly. Takeaway bag packaged neatly with everything I need - nasty cheap catsup included without asking. I will be back, a lot.“

“The cheesy beef on garlic bread is the best beef around!! I love how juicy and fresh it comes out to be when your order in. And the paper towel rolls on the tables. Overall it’s one of the best beefs around when you get sick of having Portillos flavorless beef. And don’t get me started with the fries…I call em crack fries because you can’t stop eating them. Char-grilled burger seasoned and great char flavor, cheese, lettuce, tomato and sliced pickle chips. Ketchup and mustard on the burger. Surprise, be careful when you pickup and take the first bite, extremely juicy and delicious. Fries and tots were very good. A 5 or 6 napkin burger. A highlight is the Mushroom Onion Melt, it had plenty of grilled onion and mushrooms with well melted Swiss. While I'd like to complement them on menu expansion and "franchise expansion" they are trying to rush a simple formula tried and true. It seems now more than ever, that they are more concerned with trinket expansion than food improvement. Service is still slow, which I could accept, if the food was still on point. Crisp fries are now soggy, orders are repeadly not right, and overall experience is missing the mark. I have hope, and still recommend Portillos to OUT visitors. That said, they can do better.“

“i would recommend as a one time experience. the food is greasy. a cheesy hotdog is almost $7. do you know how many hotdogs and buns you could buy for that money? very expensive. maybe as a treat once every 6 months. couldnt believe our bill.“

“Good burger and good fries. A little on the pricey side for me but they do give you alot of fries. Restaurant was very clean and comfortable. First time trying a five guys burger. Was pretty good but I have had better. If I didn't have another choice I would have again. Definitely will not go out of my way to get one.
