“Maan this was a great find. I'm the East Coast and worked in New York City for years where halal and halal food trucks are really popular and this is tastes like some of the spots out there. “Great no fuss late night spot where Uzbeks and Kryrgs and others can come and have tea and chat and enjoy a familiar meal. Various products for sale or to take home. You won't get many words from them. Service is a bit slow but the Food is amazing. Restaurant space is chill and accommodating, plenty of room to sit. Food comes out piping hot. Hours are loose. Show up and see whether they're open. Sometimes they'll hang out past 12 and let people sit in and relax and enjoy their meal. Great spot, glad I found it. Instant favorite.“

“We had Cafe 53 cater our entire wedding and the food was phenomenal! Our guests can’t stop talking about the smoked brisket to this day. Jess and her team are amazing to work with and their communication through out the entire process was great. While they have a standard catering menu, they are willing to make whatever you want and cater to your dietary needs. We had a bbq/comfort food style menu and it was a hit. The staff was on time with their services and were on top of it the entire time. The cost was a great price as well which is always a bonus. So thankful that we went with Jess and Cafe 53 for our big day!“

“Absolutely phenomenal south Indian food. We came in to dine in but had to get it to-go due to an emergency. The staff was super accommodating and the Veg Thali (sampler platter) was absolutely divine. My friends got the Mutton Thali and Chicken Thali and said it is some of the best food they've had in Chicago. Spice level is definitely on the hotter side of restaurants I've been to but that made for a great meal. Incredibly affordable too. At ~$15 per person and plenty of tasty leftovers that keep well, I'll definitely be making a point to return soon.“

“Tucked away from the main street in Devon is this humble place for some fantastic North Indian cuisine. Great authentic taste !!Had both the tandoori chicken and the chicken along with garlic naan and plain parathas and everything was delicious - Everything served hot and fresh. The tandoori chicken is made after ordering so will take approx 30 mins to be served but it’s worth the wait. The only thing that stuck out as an anomaly is the chicken looks more reddish than regular meat. It could be likely due to the red chilly spice used or maybe a little bit of food coloring ( not sure ).

This not a fine dine but a regular walk in restaurant with limited seating so pls set expectations accordingly. If you are a lover of Indian cuisine, highly recommend checking this out.“

“I was a little hesitant about ordering a vegan sandwich here because I’m not vegan so ordered the egg sandwich with sriracha bacon. My friend ordered the vegan so I could have a taste. The sandwich arrived on a large baguette which they bake fresh daily, actually all their bread is freshly baked. It was amazing and the egg was perfectly cooked. The sriracha bacon gave the sandwich a slight kick and so tasty. I took a bite of a half of the vegan sandwich and just froze. I couldn’t believe how delicious it was. The sandwich is made on fresh toasted rye bread. I ended up devouring the whole half and had to finish my egg sandwich because I couldn’t put it down. Then I went for the hat trick. A vegan ice cream sandwich, vegan peanut butter ice cream between two rich vegan chocolate cookies. The best part is you can’t beat the price. It’s a casual place with a take out window due to COVID. I believe they may be back to indoor dining when the weather changes. However, they do have nice outdoor tables to sit at and enjoy. But if you are ever in Logan Square , be sure to check it out. They have amazing home baked pastries, cookies, and do much more. Even better, the staff at the window are fun, energetic and friendly. Be sure to ask them for recommendations. They are extremely helpful.“

“I have been waiting YEARS to come back to IDOF after they closed the one by me. Finally, I was able to make my return! I got a gyro plate and I think I over sauced myself because when I mixed everything together, the sauce overpowered and also made the meat get cold quicker. The only other reason I give 4 stars is because I was in line for 30 minutes… I’ll be back and hopefully raising my rating to 5 stars“

“I was in University Village and craving Pakistani food. Unfortunately the restaurants on Devon Ave don't deliver here :(. However, a quick Google search brought this restaurant up! I'm glad I ordered here. I recommend the Khari Chicken, Butter Chicken, and Chicken 65 ?. By the time our garlic naan arrived, it was rock hard. I don't blame anyone- sometimes that happens. A big bonus was the zeera rice you get with every curry dish order! I love how generous the portions of rice were with every curry order! Will order again ????????“
